  • Wow, I remember those days, that was my generation. the 80's, some of those kids look like some i knew when i was a kid. Computers sure have come a long way since those days. I woked on a computer as demonstrated here, now that makes me feel old! :)

  • This is so cruel, they know black people cant afford computers

  • I have learned so much!

  • Great throwback video!

  • yo todavía la uso para diseñar

  • I actually remember doing something similar to that program in school. - move the "turtle" to draw a pic.

And remember the "printing" and "thinking" screen while waiting for your homemade card to print?

  • @nanciesweb you mean logowriter!

  • @oddradish I was seven - I honestly don't remember. :D

I do remember the tandy 1000 my father bought. It was a "screaming" 128K and can do spreadsheets! It had TWO 5" floppy drives.

The salesman at Radio shack assured my father that it was completely upgradable.

  • I know adults who gave the same explanations about computers

  • What? the computer doesn't have bones!!!

  • man, we need to remake these interview with the same guys...

  • Ah yes, the era of short shorts and other obnoxious and ugly fashion.

  • MISS MISS!!! *puts hand up You can watch naked people on it!

  • D:

  • I remember watching this video when I was about the same age as the kids. I was mesmerized. I recognized the video as soon as the kids started using the line drawing program.

  • 1:20 is the most accurate description in the video... Pretty much describes how most people use PCs today.

  • 3:28 Slut....

  • It's where the internet lives.

  • Can a computer think? "NOOOOO" Little did they know that that would all change. I loved watching this.

  • @iamthefirsttosecond Currently computers still cannot think so it's still true today

  • Girl's eyes at 1:18 - "Is that fucking camera still on me??"

  • OMG JUST DID FIRST DISLIKEEE!!!!

  • I would love to see these kids together again today as adults, answering the same question.

  • "it's not human"

    not yet...

  • I wanna see these kids today.

  • Wow I feel fucking old.

  • IT ISN’T HUMAN! And the kids all flip out. Sounds kind of like a horror movie.

  • he should have done snow first

  • Teacher: "Does a computer have feelings?"

    Kids: "NOOOOOO"

...Well, now we know who the Cylons will go after first.

  • @geeksomeguy hehehe

  • Everything they said differing us from a computer is now wrong.

  • @ReplayGamerSF

Let's see, it has a camera, so it has eyes, we ALWAYS knew it had SOME kind of temper, robots have enough legs and bones for locomotion, and AI beat us at chess. So... yeah. You're right one that one.

Cherry On the Top: a Computer can now sing.

  • those kids are like 33 now

  • Obviously these kids haven't seen LCD Soundsystem's video for "Home".

  • Siri disagrees. Siri knows all :D

  • Was that 'Logo'? I remember that program.

  • Most of these kids know more about computers than Barb, my 55 year old coworker, does.

  • THAT'S AMAZING!

  • computah

  • I was born in 1978, I was the same age as these kids at the same time using the same computers and programs in school. This really takes me back to being a kid. Thanks

  • Is Julie Kavner their teacher?

The kids in this video are the ones designing your websites now.

  • @SESteve Actually they are probably occupying walls street.

  • That is one nice hardcore teacher especially the brooklyn accent!

  • A computer doesn't have eyes....won't they be suprised when they grow up...

  • Not anymore we're not.

  • Computer+thinking= Terminator

  • People do have buttons and when they are pushed...............

  • @Luciferminusone don't forget our belly buttons too XD

  • I've ID'd the computer at 1:01 as a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. Can anybody ID the computer at 1:57? I've looked on vintage computer sites and had no luck. Thank you.

  • if only kids would get the fuck off computers and do work!

  • @ChaoticNuke If only 50+ year old employees in state agencies would do the same thing -- play all day on the computer and not do any work.

  • Something that Mommy uses to talk to her boyfriend while Daddy is at work.

  • @UT00ber50 LMAO so true - i lived next door to a neighbour who did that all the time... she was never caught but I considered dobbing her in from time to time

  • the program the kids were using that turns words to pictures seems like a much better reading program that reads the books for the kids...

  • "That's snow. Don't put it on the river!"

  • You can surf 4chan with a computer.

  • In the scene where Tiffany and Helmy are creating a picture of a jack-in-a-box, the "E" key represented "up", "X" for down, "S" for left, and "D" for right. And the other letter keys also represented the punctuations instead of punctuation keys. Pretty weird they had to cram everything on older computer keyboards.

As for some of the other keys on that same computer, I see an "Alpha Lock" key, etc. I'm guessing "Alpha Lock" is like "Caps Lock".

  • @tpirman1982 it is sorta like it - but this is for those extra characters on your keyboard you use the shift key for nowadays...

  • 0:46 I wonder what program Tiffany and the other kid are using and 1:33 I wonder what that word/picture program is called.

  • Can you imagine if they did a modern version of this film with modern students and modern computers and such?

  • LOL the girl at the very end of the vid is a tramp! LOL!

  • Future troll's.

  • This clip rocks. Lovin' how the teacher got them to think asking those guiding questions, building on what they already knew about computers to help increase their understanding.

  • What year was this from?

  • @halcaannen

I believe this is from Season 15 (1983-84).

  • Raimy's at 2:40, SO CUTE!!!!

  • i think she's the one in the red dress at the end!

  • at the end, that little girl is sitting with her legs open and she is wearing a dress!!

  • is raimy the one picking her nose? hahhhaha

  • Raimy!! I found her!

  • :')

  • where?

  • It's amazing how little kids express themselves with such simple but accurate ideas--"people don't have buttons." "computers don't think."

  • "And prresss buuutons on" That girls lips are awesome.

  • She sounds like my grandma from New York, and wow this clip is old, lol.

  • Darned if I know what a computer is. I'm still trying to figure it out.

  • I feel as old as an old abandoned monitor screen when I watch this. LOL

  • I remember this film very well. Shows how old it is to today standard computers and all the programs that are on them now. And yet their still a hassle.. lol!

  • I wonder how many of these kids grew up to spend half their lives online or texting.

  • In all honesty, I think the woman in the beginning is very attractive with the cute city accent.

  • XD You said it, Jonny. I sure can't live without my computer.

  • I agree. Without computers, all these classic clips would be lost to us forever.

  • Well said man!
