Sometimes it isn't always the string that goes out of tune. It also depends on the way you hold it or fret it. If you fret it down with a lot of pressure, it's gonna go sharp because you're adding tension to it. Also, another way is from fretting down and the string bends slightly. May not notice it but it does happen, at least when it comes to perfection.

@metbaby everyone does it. if the creativity dries up for a temporary spell you "riff off" someone else. or it may have been by accident, there are only 12 notes on a guitar and you're bound to accidentally come up with something thats been done before. before i had ever heard any bullet for my valentine music i came up with this awesome little riff that i was so proud of, then a few months later i hear it in a song called hand of blood. mikael akerfeldt has done it to a band called camel too.
