En el norte argentino mucha gente escucha italo disco, pero aca se le dice "gapul", hay varios programas en radio e incluso una fm llamada Radio Disco Lider.

Se le dice Gapul, musica gapulera, fiesta gapulera etc, porque Gapul era el sello discografico que aca en Argentina edito mucho de estos exitos, Hay personas, como los locutores o dj que saben que se llama italo disco, euro disco, italo dance, tratan de aclararlo pero la costumbre ya esta muy arraigada por estos lares. Perdon por no haberlo explicado en el primer comentario. Saludos.

Tenía curiosidad por saber el por qué de que ahí lo llaméis así, ya que soy asiduo a un blog argentino donde suben italo disco en dd y muchas veces veía la palabra gapul en muchos discos sin saber la razón. Creía que sería el usuario que subía el disco o algún dj argentino. Gracias por la información. Saludos!

Unfortuatly ,you can't hear this this great stuff on the sindicated national Italian radio networks anymore from at least 20 years . But there are some smaller regional oldies Fm stations that are specialized in 80's,that can count on a always growing nostalgic crowd ,listeners like me ,that that want to feel good with the music of the best decade: Viva the 80's !!

The procedence of the artists don't interesed. Italy was the place where borned this music style, this is the principal reason for denominated this italo disco. But was knowed too with the name of eurodance, eurodisco, etc... But italo disco was the most extended denomination. Excuse my english, dude.

Italo is a lifestyle, a kitshy attitude, you have to be italian to understand the meaning of this incredible movement. To be more clear, this Music was made in Italy during the early 80ies, in Milan and only by italian producers. What makes this music so typical is the very cheesy disco style, and also the bad accents of the singers...and if you watch videoclips such as this one, you will notice the very weird fashion of the artists, not totally disco, not totally pop...just Italo Disco !!!
