'Smooth jazz' is such a dreadful term that lumps together bland elevator music with great music like this. To me, this is soul music, albeit very jazzy. The more funky stuff we used to call jazz-funk in the UK, and I've yet to hear a better label.

When I "came to California" back in 1997 my first impression was the wide endless horizons and the desert mountains, pick up trucks and bustling highways, hot sun and SMOOTH JAZZ ....
