  • Thought that dude was Mark Paul Gossalar

  • as soon as i heard his voice i fell asleep

  • LOL This is so easy and I aint even in highschool

  • wat grade is this for is 6th or wat cause i need sixth i want to be ahead of my class :)

  • WAT!?!?!?! is this 6th grade math!!!???

  • You said n squared times n to the 12th, but should be plus not times.

  • love mathhhhhhhhh

  • I need this, i just failed my finals. It's not that I'm dumb it's just that I'll forget everything in 10 minutes. In other words my mind is a second long, literally, and that's worst than being dumb. So all you so called dummies out there, don't feel bad, at least you remember stuff lol.

  • @Allina277 Just wondering but don't answer if you don't wanna, are you taking this in high school or middle school? If you are taking it in middle school then please you only have more reason not to stress as that is for advanced students(assuming you live in the U.S),but even so forgotting is very commen. Its why i'm here, along with a very uninforming algebra teacher :P hahaha

  • How the fuck did I pass this class with an A in high school? This is like gibberish to me now...

  • if this algebra for dummies .....and i still don't get it,what does that mean?

  • oah!!!

  • Hi, hope this helps! 2 + 2 + 2 = 6

    2 x 2(=4) x 2 = 8 Just like: 3 x 3 (=9) x 3 =27, 4 x 4 (=16) x 4 = 64,

5 x 5 (=25) x 5 = 125, etc. Try using a calculator, you'll get the same answers. You mulitply the first 2, the mulitply that answer times the third!

  • 2x2=4 4x2=8

  • i just got brain raped

  • he multipled 2*2=4, multiply 4 with the other 2 *4=8

  • you write neat as hell lol

  • And why do i need to add m10 and m3 although there is a multiply symbol? O.o That's the part, i never understand... :(

  • You wont even use this math when your older wtf unless u wanna be a rich rich person etc well i dont wanna be a rich rich person so fuck you math people are maken me fail math like this shit because i don't want to do it i wont even use it when im older my mom dosnt even use it all she uses is (+) (X) (-) jesus fuck and she has a 1m house like WTF

  • @ThePvpmusic You use it for everything without even knowing it sometimes. (im talking about general math and algebra not trig and such) Even for useless things like when i play video games i still have to use math (even though its a shooter) You measure distances, ammunition, you are even using geometry without knowing it. even when you play basketball or run or jump, climb, what have you.

  • mr teacher lets swap brains, i need a life lol

  • my head hurts

  • Math: mental abuse to humans. Lol

  • @timothytimmons HAHAHAHA awesome!

  • algebra is fun

  • FACKKK MY LIFE.

  • @dinobearz lol its simple

  • @HeyImBubProductions If only it were for me.

  • hay whats the anser to 3ac

  • Ahh I'm homeschooled for this year and I have an algebra computer program. The teacher is an old creepy southern man and his brother, and it just creeps me out! I wish this guy was my teacher.

:) He looks like Ezra from Pretty Little Liars, if you catch my drift... :) :)

  • i hate algebra -_-

  • My algebra teacher has a masters degree in algebra. And you know what?I could NEVER really remmeber anything she said event if its just right after she said it.This guys just saved my life-axa

  • Life with out math would be so much better.

  • @100xines me too :P this is easy, but i geuss thats because im in eighth grade :)

  • 14 yo highschool drop out here.

    Self-learning for a little while.

  • Okay, I may be a dumb ass for asking this but it is bugging the hell out of me...

I see how he gets 9.. okay so then he cubes 2, and says, 2 x 2 x 2. okay here's my issue, I was always taught that 2 x 2 x2 = 6 not friggin 8. If I'm wrong here someone please explain to me how he got 8 from 2x2x2... please.

  • @jdharris82 because the dumb MuthafuckA forgot to go (2x2)=4x2=8 that is why dude

  • 2x2x2=4x2=8, not 6

  • @jdharris82 your adding the 2s (2+2+2 = 6). Multiply them (2x2x2=8). 2x2= 4 then multiply again by 2 because there is 3 2s, giving you 8.

  • @jdharris82 wow

  • @jdharris82 i you think about it 2x2x2 is really 4x2 its just expanded and thats were 8 comes from

  • @jdharris82 You need to do 2X2X2=8. 2X2=4 and 4X2=8. I had a hard time with that too!

  • @jdharris82

    2 x 2 = 4 x 2= 8 (:

  • @jdharris82 When you multiply something by two the number doubles.

And 2 x 2=4, you should know this. Then multiply 4 by 2 (double it)

    4 x 2 = 8

  • @jdharris82 it should be put as 2x(2x2)= 8

  • @jdharris82 step 1:---> 2x2=4 step 2:---> 4x2=... no not 6...its 8. I don't blame u, i think algebra sucks:(

  • @jdharris82 You take it apart like this. do 2x2=4 then 4x2=8

    there for its (2x2)x2=8

  • @jdharris82 2 x 2 = 4 4 x 2 = 8 :)

  • @jdharris82 omg look 2x2x2=8 beacuse 2x2=4x2=8

  • @jdharris82 2*2=4*2=8 Your multiplying them not adding or 2x2 =4 4x2 =8

  • @jdharris82 2*2=4*2=8

  • @jdharris82 2 + 2 + 2 = 6. Hooray! Basic math solved.

  • how did he get the 9 ???

  • @christineleonido 3 is the coefficient. since the exponent outside of the parentheses is 2 he multiplied 3 and 3 and got 9

  • uuuum im in 8th grade algebra 1 and im confused

  • I'm really bad in math and I think this video is good for a math-dumb like me.

  • Boring! it is too elementary :(

  • that was easy but the nagain boring with that tone just hoping for good alegebra teacher :D

  • So yeah, all you people who have been out of school for over a decade and are only now coming back to this for that college placement test coming up, dont hesitate to go back and refresh those bare bone basics before trying to "dive right in"

  • When I first watched this, I realized just how important it is to remember what an exponent and coefficient are. I actually had to go back and look at the absolute basics "not just the vocabulary" THEN when I come back here, I was able to grasp this much easier.

  • OMG!!! its Ben Stine

  • I bet that if I go to hell Satan will put me in a Math class for eternity

  • I have never been good with math, but it is actually pretty easy once you learn all the tricks!

  • Were you get the 9 from

  • @BOSSKING305 He got the 9 because 3*3 = 9 or 3^2 = 9.

  • easy, soooooooo easy

  • *cry* i cant understand this!!!!! im gonna fail so bad in life D':

  • @ThePlatoon4 I can't understand either; I'm taking the Military ASVAB test in a couple weeks. I have a feeling I'm going to suck at the algebra. ._.

  • OK...WHAT??

  • Thanks for giving me some confidence for my regents today. I think I can do well after watching these videos.

  • This website should not make a video that's THIS hard publicly viewable; it just frightens people off. And SERIOUSLY, actually ADVERTISING that you have to sit through hundreds of these?! This business WILL fail. If you are reading this you guys just email me for christ's sake; I study education and you study math so stick to accounting pls.

  • Not dumbed down enough for my taste. Must keep moving on to more thorough basic tutorials.

  • Wow! Great explanation! I understand now

  • I am in sixth grade, twelve years old and I don't think this is very hard and according to me this is not very complex.

    Ok.

^ = raise the power of

    (3m^5n) ^2 (2mn^4) ^3.

Firstly the 3 in the first part multiplied by itself as many times as it says (The ^2 behind). This becomes 9.

Then it is the 5 over the M times the middle number (2) = 10

All of the letters without a number above has/ is an invisible 1. Times 2 = 2

    Total: 9m^10n^2

  • @iDragonRider if your still in school of course you get it, you work with it everyday, when you get into the real world you stop working with math on a daily basis and you forget alot of it.

  • @LogitekBobby I see. I must also agree with everything that you have written except for the part when you said I work with this every day.

I have never worked with this before, but I understand how this works.

  • Ok we are done with the first part. Then we do everything EXACTLY the same thing with the second part, but i'll explain anyway. (2mn^4)^3 2 times the ^3 which shows that 2 X 2 = 4 and 4 X 2 = 8.. This is 8.then as I said without a number have an invisible 1. This means 1 X 3 = 3. Now it should be 8m^3. Then we'll take care of the n^4. n^4 X 3. ~ 4 X 3. Now it is 8m^3n^12 Then we have 9m^10n^2 and 8m^3n^12. 9X8 ( the first numbers from each part) then m^10 + the 3 then the n^2 + 12 =72m^13n^14.
  • i like that you are slow...my teacher is way too fast!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Im in 7th grade and I even understand diz... Scary lolz

  • ESTA ALGEBRA ES MUY SENCILLA AUNQUE HABLO ESPAÑOL ES MUY FACIL PARA MI ENTENDER AL PROFESOR DE ESTE VIDEO QUE HABLA INGLES, CREO QUE ES LA VENTAJA DE REPASAR LAS MATEMATICAS.

  • OK IS EASY

  • How could he speak any slower? You have to consider this is a sample video also... so, you're kind of walking into a class that's already in session so-to-speak. And, it's a video, you can watch it many times.

  • NVM I GOT IT!! :P

  • ahaha for dummies....

whoa whoa whoa what the hell is this??? AHAHAHA

  • i get it

  • Wow, it's been 24 years since I even thought about algebra but I picked up on this right away. Thinking about taking it up again.

  • oh, my, god... for dummies... I didn't get a SHIT !

the I'll fail at the math exam anyways : /

  • THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE ALGEBRA FOR DUMMIES! NOT ALGEBRA FOR SMART ASSES! SLOW DOWN DIP SHIT!

  • WTH. this is BS . i dont get crap im fustrated !!!!pulling my hair out

  • i might actually have a chance of passing :D OMG -im soooo happy- thank you

`so glad math is the only subject i need to improve on` THANK YOU YOUTUBE !

& person who made this vid

  • Why can't math just solve their own problems........??????

  • Dear math, you are like doctors,no one wants to ever have to use you,but you are necessary. And I hate it when you stick your fingers up my ass you cruel bastard.

  • OMG im 29 freaken years old, i forgot everything i learned and i wasnt even good in algebra back in high school to begin with.. Now im trying to get back in college and i have to do the SAT test and i see myself at a freaken elementary level when it comes to math !!! Dammit imma get this math crap one way or the other!! I hate math!

  • @mexiazteca00 lol yeah kick maths butt :D -

  • @mexiazteca00 DUUUDE! IM IN THE SAME SITUATION RIGHT NOW! Lol except mines is a placement test for college. I forgot all of this!

  • @mexiazteca00 so just get to X. LOL, learn the pattern and the rest falls into place.

  • @mexiazteca00 i'm in the same boat, it all looks like gibberish to me.

  • @mexiazteca00 dude does this make sense to u? im homeschooled and this guy isnt makin sense

  • huh?

  • if u ppl watched open season that guy kinda looks like eliot... exept eliot is an idiot

  • too hard

  • Dude Yhur Kool & Way fUNNER;d

  • they guy is a great teacher i actually understood this

  • He got 8 by Squaring the 2 in the 2nd set of parenthesis by 3, just like the 3 in the first one was squared by 2 so that's: 3*3 and he got 9 and with the 2 the exponent on the outside of the parenthesis is 3 so that's: 2*2*2 equals 8 @Cuba305Negro got it?

  • still dont get it, how you get 8

  • The problem with a lot of people is that they've learned to carry out specific actions for each type of problem, rather than looking at the problem and thinking about how it makes sense. This is a fragile system that can be disrupted very easily, and it's hard to memorize all the things you have to do. This used to be my problem. Now I just look at the problems and think about how they logically make sense.

  • I hate this guy! He starts with too much crap on the board!! Algebra SUCKS!!!

  • Learning math is like climbing a staircase.

  • I hate Algebra. only algebra make my brain bleeding. LOL.

  • I think im Mentally retarded, I dont get it....... I need this to Join the Army lol Can you just give me a Rifle and give me a Order and ill do it, Leave the PRoblem solving to a Professional plz :)

  • he gives no context...what is this????

  • yea and when am i going to you this is medical assisting?? i cant believe they make us learn this!! i doubt i ever will too complex!! im a science type of person..

  • lol this guy is good, but he seems real sad haha

  • Math is easy. Just accept the concepts like the sky is blue ^_^

  • Pretty Simple really

  • Comment removed

  • @steelbladeS17

    It's not. You add the exponents. 10 + 3 = 13

    =]

  • they include Algebra in the course just to fail the students:):):):):)

  • One word...UGH!! I just don't get this!

  • @Sunnshyneone You don't want to get it. Its pretty simple really.

  • @Therealtruth247365 You don't know me, so don't assume I "don't want to get it" I am an artist, a visual artist - photographer, and a wordsmith - novelist and short story fiction and non-fiction writer. This is just a language I don't understand. Very presumptuous of you to assume that considering you don't even know me. I am taking algebra in school and I will understand it eventually. You can go crawl back under your arrogant rock now....be gone.

  • @Sunnshyneone I really apologize Miss. I'm sorry I made you feel that way. You are right, I don't know you, that doesn't mean I cant reply to your comment. That is the reason you posted it right? I dearly apologize, but this teacher explained this problem step by step. When you don't understand something, the best thing to do is to ask questions. When I saw your comment ".... I just don't get this!" I felt like you should explain what you don't understand so you can be helped.

  • @Therealtruth247365 Apology accepted. Yes, you certainly do have the right to respond but maybe instead of assuming "I don't want to get it" you could have said what you just said..."the best thing to do is to ask questions" It is kind of rude to say things like that. It is insulting. I have not taken algebra in 30 years but I am currently a Phi Theta Kappa honor roll college student, so I am not stupid, but math for me is confusing.

  • Ok now that i watched this video about 7 times i think i got the hang of this... than again i probalbly dont , and this doesent sound likr english to me

  • @SceneHelloKitty69VF Math is its own language. Any mathematician from any place in the world can understand this. Math is Universal. Math is Logic.

  • @Therealtruth247365 It most certainly is it's own language...hopefully my teacher can teach me what I need to know

  • @Sunnshyneone Good Luck. I wish you the best.

  • where did the 9 came from.

  • @porcelana4ever

    3 Squared is 9. 3 * 3 = 9

  • @HopeInTime Thanks. I got it now. Algebra is not so bad thanks to videos like these. I love you tube hehe

  • @porcelana4ever 3^2 is 9. 3*3=9, 3 raised to the 2nd power is 9

  • Did you realize you told us to add the exponents together then said you were multiplying them? I can not learn from seeing the problem since I am blind. Now I already know that you have to add them and you did add them together but you said you were multiplying them. I was really confused for a minute when I watched this video. I wanted to inform you of this.

  • @MorikoAnime Interesting, How did you comment on this video? I am curious

  • It's easy for everything EXCEPT dividing

Now that shit is more tricky than ma bawls

  • this is NOT for dummies

  • can some one help me how to solve algebra problems like this - 7x + 8 = 4x -118

  • @TheSerasCo1 you get all the xs to one side first

  • @TheSerasCo1 -7x(+8-8)=4x-(118-8)

    -7x=4x-126

    -7x-4=(4x-4)-126

    -11x=-126

then divide both side by -11

  • what grade level is this? this seems kinda easy maybe i should be learning more?

  • Thanks MAn this helps Alot!

  • 9d + 4m (l?k::) =what the fuck ????i swear algebra is just made for certain people and i am not one of them. i just dont understand what i would use it for. i can undersatn the basics but i am not gonna sit and multiply m times n squared to find the coefficient of my head is gonna explode. i guess i am just an idiot.

  • @leshy69 I agree, i must be an idiot also! I'm in college and still can't understand it!

  • @desiree503 yup

  • fucking easy.

  • I wish they had youtube when I was in school. It would have made things a lot easier.

  • Sadly, I never payed attention in any of my math classes and I am only good at basic math: dividing, multiplying, adding, and substracting.

Now I finally realize that I need to relearn the rules of operations but it seems too late, as I am a junior in High School.

From what I just saw exponents do not multiply each other. In this true?

  • it's true

  • hes soo hot

  • ಠ_ಠ

  • man...this is still too complex to understand...its unfair for people like me how are slow to pick up on maths...cuase the teachers talk to fast and skip to other stuff before i even got my head around the first part...just slow down and explain it in dumb terms please!!! man maths is so hard for me to learn!!!

  • it's ok we all have problems with math =D

  • @TimeSplitter64 You can understand this. Its pretty simple really. You just have to want to understand it.

  • @TimeSplitter64 Sadly teachers don't keep pace with individual students, you either get it or you get left behind... In algebra, there are a few "rules", think of it like a logic flow. If you have an apple(A) and two bananas(B^2). If you put them in a multiplication basket, you have A*B (AB). If you take the apple out, you have B^2. If you take out one banana, you have B(A*B). A&B are in the basket, and one of the bananas is out. Make sense? msg me if it doesn't and I'll explain :)

  • @TimeSplitter64 me too.... its so sad that teachers do that its like they dont even care.

  • @TimeSplitter64

Very smart man! Only problem is the title of this video is kind of missleading. Your already talking about products, coefficients, like basis and exponents. This is a little advance for a beginner.

Again, a little advanced for a begginer here. Otherwise this young man knows his stuff

  • @TimeSplitter64 how is this hard? yeah he sucks at teaching but it isnt that bad, you just have to think.

  • @TimeSplitter64 buy the Algebra for dummies books and learn at your own pace. For me its too basic and the algebra for dummies workbooks help me more because it takes a question and show a complele step by step rutine 2 solve it, it makes the hard easy.

  • @TimeSplitter64 I am so with you there I want him to explain it slowly to me because I am terrible at algebra.

  • i better not fail the stupid fucking math part

  • it's so easy...admira are you nuts duh 2*2*2=8 we are finding the cube root....how can we find the correct answer if the solution is wrong...it's so easy just understand.ur not a good observer!!

  • i followed up till he said "the 2 X 3 = 8 " thats when he lost me.

  • Ummm... Was he speaking in English? Why is this stuff soooooo hard for me? Ugh! I applaud those who know how to do this stuff with ease!

  • well what grade you in?

  • So is it always required to multiply the proeficients and add the exponents? or just when using powers?

  • Comment removed

  • eponents outside the paren..wtf (3m5n)(3m5n)

  • i have no idea what the heck is he talkin about lol

  • woooooooooww... i understood lol

  • I can/t believe, I actually understood this! I have had such a brain fog with math all my life, now at 60+ years old I am catching on to Math! Who says we slow down when we get older! I just keep getting smarter every day! Thanks to better teachers like this one! Thanks fella! Keep on teaching!!

  • More power to you!

  • @menderfire9 I can't believe that you are 60+ years old and you have a youtube account mister. That's cool!

  • @linkxkid13 can you believe that I am almost 70 and I am not a mister, I am a granny with a lot of brain power still in me and a lot of life left to investigate! I'm trying to be a good example to the younger generations! Keep feeding your curiosity, keep learning, and share your ideas with others! And don't forget to dance and sing!

  • @menderfire9 hey u should youtube how to solve a rubiks cube cause in one of the comments a 60 year said he could solve one in about a minute. im @ a 16 second average. its really easy when its broken down step by step.
