Alot of people--myself included--would disagree with that. It really had no sort of point to the show or card game--more so because no one was every consumed by the Shadow Realm like the person who starts the Shadow Game says.

The closest anyone got to being consumed by the Shadows was Yami Marik VS Yami Yugi but only because Y.Yugi merged Y.Marik with Ra and technically, he was merely sent to the graveyard >.>;

It's obvious the Anime could've been more if 4Kids let it be.
