  • I once raised a baby starling that had fallen out of its nest. I wish I had known they could talk. One day it saw an open window and decided it was time to go. We never saw it again.

  • Few people know that starlings can talk.

  • OMG..didn't know you can get a Starling to talk...he talks better than my parrot... very nice vedio ...

  • Does he take dumps all around the house?

  • i think its saying give me CASH! haha you sure you didnt take this lovely bird on a bank robbery :) jks, wonderful bird........ really clever that a wild bird can talk :)

  • lol, im playing this to my pet starling Pirate, who i hand raised from two days old :)

He's sitting on top of the computer screen saying "What? What?"

    Everytime he talks lol

  • thumbs up if you've shot one f these

  • @irvinemofia

    fuk YOU!!!

  • @Solangl You probably would want to shoot them 2 if you knew they were an invasive species and they dive bomb cats. This one is pretty cool, but the whole species is a problem to native birds.

  • @irvinemofia You're an invasive species, jerk.

  • @irvinemofia actually did you know that starlings are not a problem in ecosystems that haven't been intruded by humans. SO actually, starlings aren't the problem, cities and towns are because they support certain animal life and inhibit others... oh and domestic cats are even worse of an invasive species.

  • @irvinemofia thumbs up if we want to shoot you.

  • The bird is saying my name....

    alkfhbasjkdgbjasbdghfbsjakd

  • now i know what a birds voice sounds like

  • European starlings are really cool birds! It really sucks that they are considered invasive species, especially in NYC where I live.

  • beautiful bird

  • thumbs up if your wathing this in 2011

  • What an absolute beauty! It's great to see he's so well taken care of. I have a parrot (the not-talking kind) that makes smoochy noises when she wants kisses.

  • I too want a digital bird

  • @nermalnermal ahaha :)

  • That's amazing. Yes the birds are pests in the US. Parrots are pests in Africa. Birds are wonderful.

  • Very Cute! You've obviously spent a lot of time with her. I'd love to hear more of what she has to say.

  • Oh well I wasn't sure if it was true for sure, but I can believe it now. I could only see these being good as pet's in U.S. that's all cause their nothing but pest in the U.S.

  • This is fake I highly doubt it said "hey buddy what cha doin" 1:47 and these birds (European Starling) are a pest/invasive species in the United States. They cause $800 million dollars in damage to farmer's crops.

  • @thepowerfulnews I have a 3.5 year old Starling that I raised from a featherless hatchling after he fell from his nest. He not only makes standard Starling sounds, but he can imitate nearly ANY other sound he hears and speaks English very well. He says his name, in my voice, as well as "what's for breakfast?", "bye bye Eggo", "WOW!", "Cool!" and "Whatcha doing Eggo?" Wee-Woo is definitely not a fake, although I understand how hard it might be to believe that a wild bird could speak so clearly.

  • Wow! he really said "hey buddy, what you doin" very clearly!! I thought itwas going to sound a little 'birdish' like his 'who's a pretty boy" and "who's a pretty T"

  • how is he able to talk?

  • NO NO NO WTF DUDE!

He's challenging my intelligence! I feel so stupid xD

  • we have starlings

  • does she do that 24/7...lol

  • I've got a young Starling, three or so months old yet, named Loki. He doesn't talk yet, but he will! Can't wait.

  • Well somebody better give him a god damn kiss.

  • i see these birds outside ALL the time! i didnt know they could learn to talk lol

  • Amazing and fabulous ! I've got a starling living with us at home. He's called Lupin and he's 2. He can talk too. You'll find 2 videos of him.

  • I know this sounds kinda weird and hard to believe, but, I found a few years ago a video of a parakeet that was talking in plain conversation like a human converses with another human, not just repeating words or nothing. I swear on my life i did. the owners said that parakeets and parrots and related birds can actually naturally have conversation and speech exactly to that of a human but we hear them as babble cuz its too fast for our brains to catch up to. so many birts speak than realized!!!

  • @halleluiah01 oh wow! I've been wondering what my conures lil psycho-babble was, cuz it sounds human babble but I can never make it out! He says other stuff in regular slower human english too. Man I love talking birds. Lol.

  • i thought it was saying "gimme cash"

  • someone must have asked him for a kiss a million times before he started saying that sentence.

    who is that bird-lover????

  • This is really interesting to see- all that wittering they do in the trees, it suggests that some of it is repetition of what they're hearing from certain other birds.

  • I didn't know starlings could talk! Amazing.

  • Poor bird just wants a kiss.

  • Anyone else just want to lock that bird in a room playing the most over the top dubstep possible and see what it sings after that?

  • I knew Crows & Ravens could be taught to talk, but I had NO idea a Starling could talk! That's pretty amazing.

  • he sounds like a robo-bird

  • whoa. is it really talking? or is someone like talking? hahah.

  • 2005? Sheesh, quite an old video here.

  • @SamPD2 Wow, nothing gets past you.

  • @CPRailRTC Indeed... I hope you didn't see that as an insult.

  • Cool, we have alot of starlings in our backyard from having put out houses for them to raise their young. I am now inspired to set up one of the houses where I can take the eggs then hatch them in an incubator and raise as pets.

  • They mimic other birds in the wild, sometimes I hear them meow like a cat or cry like a baby.

  • I have one right now that i am raising, and they are one of the neatest birds.

I happen to be mowing under our large pine trees where they nest and stumbled upon it,and took in to my wife who has raised a couple herself. They are fairly easy to raise if you have the time to do so...They need a high protein diet..we use soggy dog food it is better than anything on the market( our opinion )

  • It's like Star Wars's robot :D

  • How did you get the starling?

  • It sounds like a robot..lol

  • i love how birds move their heads. i don't even need the talking haha i just want to stare at the bird and how it moves. cool bird by the way

  • I have been a bird watcher for 19 years and I have never heard a Starling talk! Thats amazing!

  • i didn't even know people had starlings as pets let alone that they can talk.

  • When or which month you find him.I am looking for one...when should I search for a starling bird...

  • Kewl! I wish I had a starling!

  • Thats weird

  • this brind sounds like a creeper at the 2 thing he said lol gave me chills :O

  • :* lol

  • wow!You learn something new everyday. cool as heck!

  • wow I thought that was fake at first!! kinda scary. I wouldn't want to hear that in the middle of the night. Haha

  • wow x that amazing.. nature talks loads!!

  • awesome that you raised it from a baby! good for both of you

  • Whoa! Sounds so robotic! Awesome!

  • He's so sweet!

  • on 26 27 sec looks like are R2 from star wars

  • after about the 100th gimme kiss, i think i'd be serving it with chips & gravy, lol

  • Very cute :) I just got a baby starling a few weeks ago and am looking forwad to him/her learning to "talk" !!!

  • lol wow this is the most cutest thing I've ever seen, well yeah :)_

  • It's cool wow these type of birds can mimic human sounds.

  • that is the coolest fucking thing i have ever seen

  • What do you give the bird of food?

  • "Hey Buddy, Hey Buddy." Thats so cute.

  • Thanks for this video. I've got a crazy bird that lives in my apartment complex who likes to mimic car alarms and cell phones all day. I've always wondered what the heck it was. I never would have guessed a Starling.

  • Cool! Is that legal pet though?

  • Wish the birds in my area could do this... All they do is squack

  • i didn't know starlings could talk! cool! :D

  • well that was clear :)

  • there are funny but handfeeding is a workout i have 2 12day old babies & they eat round the clock

  • first time I've ever heard of Starlings being kept as pets. I guess it's cool though since they are epic mimicks.

  • First time I've seen a starling. I didn't know they were pets.

  • DAAAAAAHH! Thi' animals! They're planing an uprising!

  • I've been watching lots of starling vids today and this is the best mimic of human voice I've heard so far, great bird you have there!

  • Spotty Denise, spotty Denise!

  • hahaha ! what a novelty. amazing.

  • that's annoying.

  • I hope, she is still living, because the video is 5 and a half years old and I don't know how old Starlings could get... So can someone tell me please?

It is such a cute bird :)

  • I hope, she is still living, because the video is 5 and a half years old and I don't know how old Starlings could get... So can someone tell me please?

  • OMG cuteness and intellect overload.

  • Gimme kiss

    ROFL!!!!

  • They really are beautiful close up, and i never realised they could talk.

    Beautiful little bird.

  • @topliff12345

Bird's learn their song from their parents / peers (not sure if this is true....)

I actually never tried learning if wild, more simple birds have the same song even if rasied in a isolated setting

You've inspired me to look somthing up.

  • Starlings are in the Mina bird family. I had a friend that raised a starling from babyhood and she didn't know they could learn to mimic you until he started talking.

  • creepy....

  • This would drive me birdshit insane after 5 minutes of being in the same room as this bird.

  • @dudeinma55ter I have 2 of them and I'm still amazed at their talking. It's adorable. But maybe you're just not a bird person.

  • Well... I learn something new every day. We have thousands of Starlings around here and I never knew they could learn to talk...

  • @jubchuqun Not just talk, but immitate a lot of sounds as well. It's funny! XD

  • That is just cool! I guess I never knew a Starling could talk. I knew Crows, Ravens,ETC. But never would have guessed a Starling. Is she lovable like a typical pet bird? Just never know one to be a pet.

  • great! now ill teach the family of starlings that life in the small attic of my shed how to say Wazzaa! :D

  • sorry should have read your discription first. two years

  • excelent, how long dose it take to get the bird to talk like that?I recorded an albino starling I wish I could have taught that one to talk-I do know that it would have had to be hand reared but i can stil dream!!!-cant beleive so many people beleive in daft conspiracy theroys but think this is fake!

  • LOL i had a good laugh. For a minute there i thought is was fake but i realized he was talking.did you teach him?

  • Comment removed

  • @arab3515 That is perhaps the stupidest comment I have ever heard in my life...I can only pray that you were being sarcastic.

  • is fake lmao they dont talk at all i had them haha

  • @halkawtb52 um yes they do, normaly its the males that talk though

  • @justinsgirlbecca hmm thanks for that i will go try next winter :D cos they come here only in winter :D

  • @halkawtb52 oh so u dont have them as pets or anything then right? idk if they will talk in the wild since they only mimic their own kind, but yes they def. have the vocal capability. enjoy ^-^

  • @halkawtb52 They can talk very well, just because you haven't experienced doesn't mean they don't do it.

  • Wow, that's amazing.

  • stop saying bad things about weewoo. starlings immitate sounds they hear. fuck off.

  • Wow, I didnt know Starlings could talk. Very cool

  • It is very beautiful, such a sweet talking bird! Lovely!!! :-)

  • Aw I saw this on the starlingtalk site! My little guy imitates all the whistles I taught him, and understands basic commands, and comes when called! I love starlings, they are great companions. :)

  • @arab3515 No, no chip would have been used. Think about it, why would anyone pay for a chip and vet fees just to get a starling to talk? Starlings, corvids and parrots can be great mimickers or talkers.

  • I remember seeing this years ago on the news!

  • @arab3515 No idiot. If you play something over and over again a bird like a parrot will copy.

God do you know nothign about our lovely animals.

  • so cute!!! What a doll!

  • It sounds real, I know that they have a surgery for crows and ravens. You cut a certain cord in their voice box, and it allows them to be able to speak. To copy. Is that what you guys did?

  • I Love Wee Woo! He is Sooo Adorable! 0=))

  • wtf is he saying

  • GIVE THE BIRD A KISS ALREADY!!!!!!! dang how would you feel if you kept asking for a kiss and no one would give you one

  • wow, I had no idea they could talk.

  • LOL I laughed so hard! "Give me a kiss."

  • Starlings are such beautiful and intelligent birds, it breaks my heart to know what farmers and our country does to them! What a smart little boy, he seems very happy. <3

  • this looks fake.

  • oh you mean that's really the bird talking!?!?!?!

  • Sounds like he's saying "what's funny to me's funny to you". Truely disturbing, seeing this in no hookbill species.

  • His batteries are dying, change em, lol

  • What is the other phrase being said besides "Hey buddy what ya doin?" and "Gimmee Kiss"?

  • THE BIRD SWALLOWED R2-D2!!!!

  • Hey buddy what you doin?

    Thumbs up if you agree

  • He sounds like a parakeet x)

  • weewoo= Fail

  • Sounds like R2D2

  • 2:16 What's Buddy doin'? He's on your cabinet, owning your antique vases.

That is so freaky! He sounds just like a human! LOL but he can't say 'doing'. "What's Buddy dooo-zeeeeng?"

  • thats creepy for some reason : /

  • You can hear the tv in the back to know this isn't fake, and you hear the flapping when the bird moves to the cupboard. Also maybe learn your knowledge on birds abilities and their sounds before you try labeling anything as "fake" lol silly little losers. Jealous of these birds capabilities.

  • freaking AMAZING! thanks for sharing.

  • amazing! you would never think a starling could do hat if I had known I would had kept the one that flew down my chimney!
