Science is a completely neutral thing, it can help or be used for terrible things. Humanity just seems to have a tendacy to enjoy torture and war, so there we have it.

That's exactly true, instead of blaming people who commit acts, we always blame science or religion, which is stupid. But both of these, as institutions, are problematic. For this song, science as an institution encourages the attitude that "we should do things because we can", and that is the attitude that's resulting in our destruction of the planet's ecosystems.

I should add that religion hasn't done much better though. With the Genesis story, humans are banished from Eden and sentenced to try to recreate on Earth, and we've done by taking everything we can from the environment to make ourselves comfortable instead of adapting to the natural environment. That, coupled with science and industry, has allowed us to really screw up our future.

Am sorry but that comment is retarded, "Studies can not", Artificial Intelligence, surely you seen the dramatised versions in hollywood movies, if we create sophisticated enough robots and AI in the future to replace builders and the likes, they can easily replace people studying, yes the Human brain is much more advanced in terms of processing however we use 5-10% at any given time, machines would be able to use 100%, so yes they could replace studies.

Your taking this far too seriously. I agree with you completely about the countless feats and luxuries science has given us. But this is still generally an awesome song, its just that this was made very sarcastically. What SOAD is really singing about is the dark bureaucracy of science. Such as the countless loads of weaponized technology.
They clearly made poked at religion in their BYOB video.
