  • my camera is CANON EOS 1100D

  • Very clever. I am not very good at computer programming, so appreciate your work.

  • Very nice job. I can appreciate the amount of time it takes to do this. BTW, I wish I had your camera...maybe next year...

  • Bill Gene

  • 400+MB for a screencast, WOW lol

  • hey what lense do you use?

  • awesome video.. it also shows your patience.. good :)

  • What software were you using and is it available for a PC?

  • wow, for a second when i first heard this i thought u were stephen hawking :/

  • why do i need take a lots of video...????

  • WHAT EDITING SOFTWARE DID YOU USE?

  • @ChannelVortex i think he used Final Cut Studio right? and what version u used ,eirikso? FCS 7?

  • @futher1991 sonyvegas or sometimes adobe premiere i know took me a long time to reply my bad xD

  • amazing!!!

  • I thought you were using a digital computer voice for your video...then I realized you didnt...that's your voice...cool man.

  • you cant just set the camera on a tri pod?

  • @1morganzolko You can but you dont need to

  • @1morganzolko Try to place a tri pod on the exact same place season after season bro...

  • Another way to do this is to use OnLocation with a firewire connector. OnLocation gives you an "onion skin" overlay that allows you to line up what you're doing with what you've done in the past.

    Just sayin'

  • Some other ways to do this:

Set up a tripod on exact marks. Level it. Measure tripod height exactly, and include floor-to-lens and floor-to-back measurements for the camera so you get the tilt right. Do the same for wall-to-lens to get the pan angle right. Basically, any fixed object should do for making the measurements. Make a note of zoom/lens you're using. That should obviate the need for having a rail or something like it to always get the same place.

  • what program are you using?

  • AMAZING!!!

  • @550dc hvordan kan han vite hva du så på tv, når du hverken skriver hvor eller når du så den :p jeg så det på nrk i dag.. ;)

  • That was great! I want to try this. I see a lot of people upload video that they have just sped up and they call it 'time lapse'. Time lapse is just that..multiple frames exposed over a period of time...right? Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank-you!

  • Could you just record a long film fast forward it in an editing system?

  • Next time try this with iMovie '09

  • Perfect!

  • @GTAMenn2 no i think final cut express not much of a dif though

  • nice place there

  • norwegian?

  • which edit software did you use?

  • really well done thanks for posting.

  • Tusen takk! :) det hjalp! :)

  • sweet

  • great project really inspireing!

  • lovely place you have :) Amazing!

  • This is really genius. When I saw your video I thought it was done similar to a traditional time lapse, with stills, but now I see you shot video to achieve this effect. I'm thinking about buying Pinnacle Studio to edit clips. Does anyone know if that software would be capable of doing this?

  • Yes Pinnacle does this very well.

  • Thanks for the reply Wadoki! I really appreciate it. Now I feel much better about getting Pinnacle. Thanks again. :-)

  • awsome!!! but can you please tell me which computer movie making programme it is that you 're using?

  • @acerulestheplace looks like final cut

  • what do you mean?

  • This is probably a duplicate question, but is there a reason why you didn't you use a tripod?

  • Hey, thanks for the great video! Could you tell me what camera you are using please?

    Cheers

    VeX.

  • @xVeXilliuMx I'm using my Canon 5D Mark II. But a couple of clips in this video was filmed with my Canon SX200IS as well.

  • @eirikso thanks for tutorial but could you do a shorter time lapse like taking a picture of the same spot every 10 seconds for like an hour and then just fade them into each other. isn't it possible too? greetings from Finland, from your neighbor country's neighbor country ;)

  • great work ! thanks

  • Superb work Eirik - thanks for posting.

  • at :16

  • Thank you! Some of the mysteries to time lapse are now solved :oD ...Your videos are great & also your website is one of the best I've seen. Now I just have to find a good beginner program compatible with Windows - since I think Movie Maker would not be the best for this kind of project.

  • The software is Final Cut Pro by Apple.

  • What software are you using there?

  • Final Cut Suite, to be exact. Mac-only.

  • Eirik, good work! Thanks for posting this how-to and your beautiful time lapse video!

  • Er du norsk!:?

  • Ja. :-)

  • @eirikso sounded like you were from sweden :D

  • Comment removed

  • Very well done, excellent editing in this video too! I guess with my Powershot A320 i won't be able to do it :D :) :)
