@Oscars Can you please upload more screenplay wins? Particularly the Coen brothers win for Fargo and No Country for Old Men and Charlie Kaufman for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Much appreciated.
Totally deserved! His win was an inspiration to me, and should be to all up-and-coming screenwriters, especially us African-Americans. We need to write more narratives with the high quality standards of the likes of great storytellers such as Spike Lee, John Singleton, and Geoffrey Fletcher. Bravo Mr. Fletcher; none more deserving!
@Troubleshoot3R Actually, they didn't deserve it because nobody knew who really wrote the script. I think that scandal is the reason they lost, so Fletcher deserves it because at least we know he really wrote his script.
@Troubleshoot3R Up in the Air was a great movie, but if you've read Push, you can see a degree of difficulty in the work. Adapting Push would have been an undertaking of maddening proportions.
Wow thanks for uploading this I've been trying to watch this again since that year!
I was very shocked but happy that he won.
Precious was a great film. :)

Very emotional speech, he obviously didn't think he would win.
The title of this movie does my head in. They could have just called it 'Precious', but no they have to give it an absurdly long one

@FamilyGuy770 Win an Academy Award that you weren't expected to, and then criticize. Thank you.

In the Loop was the best screenplay of that year. But of course, the Academy are snobs about comedies. No disrespect to Geoffrey Fletcher, mind.

Boo! Fletcher robbed Jason Reitman of his truly deserving Oscar. How on earth was Precious a better written movie than Up in the Air?
moviemaniac14 7 months ago
@moviemaniac14 The book is in the form of a diary. You have to read the book to understand how hard it was to adapt

There's a reason why he's so far back. This was a HUGE upset.

@abluecarrot1 um, if you notice Jason Reitman is sitting right next to him and hugs him when he goes to the stage.
