I well remember going to see Nic as a frequent and much loved guest at the Hoy and Helmet Folk Club at Benfleet in Essex back in the early 1970s.

I was working away a lot when he was on the circuit and missed him locally so I never got to see him. All my knowledge of him is from radio and recordings.

Beautifully done and a big thanks to the lad on the guitar as well. A big job to carry off and he did it superbly.

It was a privilege to be in the audience on the night. I had never seen Nic in performance in the early days, and never thought that I would. To be in an audience that was emotionally charged, and to see and hear this performance, and marvel at the phrasing and delivery was quite something. Goosebump time.
