low carb is good but becareful of diet sodas and low carb foods loaded with artificial sweeteners, which are actually worse for you than regular sugar.
great video but another thing you guys should read are the ingredients. Coming from health nut, it's the High Fructose Corn syrup that is making Americans fat, and the Monosodium Glutamate, and Yeast Extract. plus a ton of other chemicals they put in food to make us unhealthy. 100 calories, Fat free, "all natural", It's all a big marketing scam. most of the food in grocery stores are like that too. It's terrible.
carbs are not the issue--it's the KIND of carbs... it's the "enriched" (meaning they stripped the fiber out) and likewise the juice (you can eat oranges and carrots, as nature provided them, or spinach etc all day long and you'll be in great shape)... we need the FIBER from grains... the only bread I'll touch is Dave's Killer Bread... but it's my profession, too, and AHA is crud... :S Want to really go after the worst food the AHA got paid $ to call "healthy?" Attack soy. Neurotoxic and more.
I picked up a "crunchy peanut butter"Cliff bar and turned it over, and was amazed at the carb count, I couldn't believe my eyes, it was saying high in fiber, 23 minerals and vitamins, and great source of protein(11 grams)5 fiber and 42 CARBS!! 20 sugars. I don't know how I could ever think the old way again, I also get really shocked at the amount of carbs and sugar in yougurt! thanks for this great series, keep up the good work, now go eat some good farm fresh foods.
There is no shortage of commercial entities ready to lie to you or promote fraudulent view on health. There will also always be a place for you to dispute them as well and tell the truth. Good job!
@bowulf Many people don't understand the nutritional density in what the their consuming. Ok you can eat these products and stick to the calories levels, and it is possible to lose weight... but at what cost? what is this really doing to your body other than cause malnutrition and eventual health problems later on. To be honest, the drugs industry follows the same pattern... It all comes down to money as we know. What a spin such organisations weeve @ peoples expense. Great video Jimmy.
Can you explain all the egg choices at the supermarket, please? I have been buying the vitamin D enriched eggs but I am not sure if that is a good choice.
Oh God those snarky honey nut cheerios commercials. You just reminded me of those. And don't forget those Fiber Plus bars! *Grabs a wrapper* "35% of your daily fiber, Rich in antioxidants vitamin E & Zinc" Covered in chocolate. Ready?24g of carb per bar. I'm 16 so I have a grain here and there and still eat sugary fruits. But I've greatly reduced my carbs and increased protein and fat, and lost weight even though I didn't need to =D
@XxPnuemaxX Yeah, we saw those Fiber Plus bars and will likely feature them in a future video. Good for you understanding proper nutrition at such an early age. WOO HOO!
Imagine the total grams of carbs that people eat when they consume these "healthy" foods. !!!! those 100 cal packs are the frosting on the cake....LOL... man, it sure keeps weight watchers in business. great vid.
@mshealthfirst THANKS! We thought this was a sorely needed set of videos to do and we're just getting started. This was just one grocery store...we'll be hitting more of them soon. Thank you for watching!

Omg I hate those 100 cal packs. What a waste of calories. Might as well be eating sugar flavored air.

@mnznash Honestly, all the supermarket eggs are inferior to fresh local pastured eggs from a farmer.
