  • just got to 5th gear syncro hub opened pack of parts springs are same size as others but old ones are smaller.old ones work great new ones dont .am i doing something wrong?

  • I have the exact same theory with the oil idea. Especially on 9 inch ford rearend axle bearings. That's for a different reason though, it's mostly because I've seen older ford trucks that've had axles slide right out while they're driving with a heavy load and making turns. I also like your brake cleaner idea. I had to do that to a C6 auto I rebuilt. It was stained from sitting for almost 30 years. I even went so far as to strip the case and hot tanked it, but that didn't work. brake cleaner did
