I was looking up an old episode of Touched By An Angel and saw this posting about John Dye's death. I am so very saddened to hear that he has passed... and very little was said on the news about it... but we still hear about the dang Kardashian's. Rest in Peace John, I hope your angel home was as nice and caring as you portrayed on the show.
Wow I feel ashamed that I only now found out he died... A lovely inspiring actor past away. I loved him as andrew on TBAA and I loved his christmas movies Once/Twice upon a Christmas. May he rest in peace! I'm shocked
While, I'm an atheist, Touched by an Angel was and still remains one of the best religious oriented shows ever... it expressed a likable god... truly all loving, not some hate filled monster as portrayed in the Bible.

I still can't believe he's gone. :( my heart is very sad for his close family & friends - and for everyone who loved him. he was amazing. he was a talented actor. i wish I could've met him before his passing. :( rest in peace sweet prince. you are truly with the angels now. I loved John on Touched by an Angel. He is one of the main reasons I loved the show. He made it easy to not fear death. now I fear it again.
It is not the amount of time a person has, but what is done with that time. His role encouraged others, how good to have that lasting example out there. I hope his personal life was encouraged by it as well. Thank you for a thoughtful word on his behalf. He is missed.

I didn't know him personally but for something that shocking to happen to someone so sweet as John C. Dye (January 31, 1963-January 10, 2011) his portrayal Andrew the Angel of Death was really great he will be missed by his friends, family, and fans.
i couldn't believe it when i heard that he died. i really honestly still can't believe it, because when u think about the show he looked so healthy! I watched that show from the time I was four until now with the re-runs. It has been eleveen years now.I don't know where I would be if that show was never on! It was a blessing to my life, and brings back good memories. RIP John! I hope God is using his sense of humor and putting u as the death angel. You would make the perfect one! :)

He played the character of Andrew so convincingly that I have to admit, I asked God to please, when my time comes, have my angel look and sound like Andrew so I wouldn't be afraid. He wasn't married and lived in SF alone but I read that he loved meeting fans and was kind to everyone and had a special fondness for dogs. I'm saddened by this for I hoped to see him in other things and for such a kind person to be taken from this world. But he gave a lot of us a great message in his characters and so forth and people will remember him.
