you can expect getting your account closed when you cover a big number of songs, in one of those songs there might might be copyright violation ad shit like that
Can anyone tell me - did they kill fargenbastich's account? I can't find him in the search anymore. Really makes the RIAA and artists look really Moneygrubbing greedy when they are worried about a guy like Fargenbastich. I'll add that to my list of artist I boycott right behind ones that try to ram their political views down my throat.
@Guilddude2 Yes, unfortunately Fargenbastich was taken down by Youtube. Not sure why, but he suspects it had to do with covering some Eagles songs. So, for now, my collaborations with him on my playlist are all that remains. If and when he decides to make a new channel, I will announce it with a video posting.
who did you mean? popegeorgeringo or bbenge2003 ? I just chose to ignore both. What they both failed to realize (because they both failed to read the description) is that there is no way to "quantize" the drums since the tempo was dictated by Fargie's original performance. Oh well. But thanks (again) !
Yes, quantizing is cheating. So is overdubbing, pitch editing, punching in, close miking, electronic drums, or the use of any synthesized instruments. But heck...I don't really see music production as a game of accountability.
Actually it is stereo - just not panned well. I removed the original post (mono) so there's nothing to compare it with. As far as the drums go...you know I just added instruments on top of an existing performance by fargenbastich, right? The drums were banged out on my keyboard. So no metronome was used. Pretty hard to quantize without one. Besides, quantizing is like cheating. Thanks for listening though. I appreciate it.
You keep that " Quantizing is cheating " rule and your tracks will always sound sloppy.....get a real drummer to play snare and hi hat to a kick drum track 4 bar loop and your tracks will even out considerably... good sound overall!!
I cannot hear that it's in stereo (listened with my headphones). My problem is that YT always converts the uploaded video(FLV) in mono. I wonder how some ppl manage it to be stereo.
I think if you listen to the original version you might hear the difference. The trick with YouTube is to upload an .flv file that's already in stereo. If you allow YT to do the conversion (like from a .wmv) it always ends up mono.
Thanks! Sullyrock helped me out. I've already uploaded FLVs in earlier vidz, but then it didn't work any more. Since today I know why. They made a 'size barrier' (stereo videos have NOT to be taller than the files YT would convert to mono) Today I uplaoded 2 vidz in stereo again :) Thanks!
Ahhhhhhhhh now I wish I hadnt said what I did....I hope you're not offended.... :( Guess I just miss not hearing my son play the guitar........I think you're both great...I always loved that song by Jim Croce...Have to say I love you in a song.....just Jim and his guitar............
Nice, but I prefer just guitar and vocal by Fargenbastich...this sounds too much like the original!!!!!!!! BUT, a great job anyways!!! You guys are great :)
Thanks. In a way I tend to agree - Fargen did such a clean nice version. But I just couldn't restrain myself. There's actually only a few people I have found here with that kind of perfect timing in their heads (which makes it easier for me to play along with)
Yep...but I never could get Mediacoder to work. Ended up getting something called "Any Video Convertor". I'm still trying to get the hang of all this.
I do YT with headphones on, and your sound quality is already pretty fantastic. This sounds great, but if I pick out stereo channels, I am not sure I could. Great job. Peace!
I agree with you that there is not much stereo effect here, reason being that I mixed it that way knowing that YT converts everything to mono (unless you send them a .flv). But at least I know that I can mix the way I want from now on !
Yes, that is awesome. I may bug your for help on it if I ever mix anything... lol, all mine are currently recorded with the little mic built into the picture camera. But some band stuff would be awesome in stereo, and unprocessed (by YT) audio too.
