@vikingmom5 Absolutely wrong. The 9N was the earliest model. It ran from 1939 to 1941. The 2N ran from 1942 to 1947. It was the only model that had steel wheels instead of rubber for awhile due to the war effort. The 8N ran from 1947 to 1952 and was the lastest of the N series.
@reaper0587 The lack of downward pressure sorta blows. I would LOVE to have a bush hog on mine though!! Holy crap I'd be outa control! I'd be mowing the shrubs, ditch, dogs, garden............oh wait maybe not the dogs. lol
It's a 4 cylinder gas-powered tractor. It's over 60 years old but I use it just like any other piece of machinery. It earns it's keep here. I use it and the skid steer for clearing snow and moving dirt and dead trees around my property. :)
I totally love it! I haven't wrecked or rolled it..........yet! lol I have a Bobcat skid steer I'm gonna be trying out this year. It should be interesting/fun! :)
Great video...Thanks...mytractorforum

@itsmrmantoyou The price varies depending on lots of factors such as where you buy it and condition etc. Mine cost around $1,600.

rob567891 1 year ago
@rob567891 I didn't paint it. It came in this color when I bought it at an auction. Blame it on someone else. :)

@Praxxus55712 i put in my share of hours on a 46 with a blade, disc, bush hog, plow, or mower behind me. the only real downside is lack of weight

@Praxxus55712 it runs good why do you have the blade backwards
brian93ist 9 months ago
@brian93ist I turn the blade backwards for pushing snow. I get more traction and can push more snow in that direction than blading it forward.

I don't know anything about tractors, Ray. How many cylinders does that thing have?Is it gasoline powered?
My neighbor did up my landscape with a 3 cylinder Ford skiploader.

Do you know what the major difference in a 2n and a 9n?
lamanesity 3 years ago 5
Hey thanks for the comment!
9N = 1939-1942
2N = 1942-1947
The 2N has a small "2N" stamp on the hood emblem just under the "ford" script.
9N = 4 spoke steering wheel.
2N = 3 spoke steering wheel.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I love the little ford N series tractors. They're reliable, strong and solid.
Praxxus55712 3 years ago
The easiest way to tell if it's a 9N is to look at the steering wheel. If it has 4 spokes it is a 9N. If it has only 3, it's definitely a 2N.
