  • i got this with the 2gb ram and 320 HD upgrade <3 it

  • Is that a 2.5" hard drive?

  • the cd, was that XP OS just in case for a reinstall?

  • Is there 2 Slots for 2 modules of Ram; (Eg: 1x2GB Ram). Or is there only one, in which you have to replace the 1GB with a whole new 2GB?

  • Just a single slot. That's left me with a "spare" 1GB since I replaced it with a 2GB.

  • Hi, I just bought this same exact netbook, i also bought the 2gb ram up grade, but when i installed the new ram the netbook turns on but the screen remains black and then it turns off after a while. Can some please help me??

  • All I can do is offer some guesses:

    1. Bad memory chip

    2. The chip might be good but your installation of it might not be correct. Make sure it snaps in place properly so all the contact points are actually contacting each other.

    Good luck!

  • your cat is beautiful...

  • Some owners are not actually running their memory at 667MHz. It may show up on boot as 667MHz, with CPU-Z and other programs it has been verified that 667MHz RAM is running at 533MHz.

  • I used Corsair Valueselect DDR2 667MHZ from Zipzoomfly and it was easy to do and works perfect. As far as using the F2 and then the F10 after instal, I have heard that it doesn't matter and that you can go into control panel to see that it installed as well...not that it will break the RAM.

  • I love the lcd matte finish, which seems logical for a traveling netbook. crazy not to have matte finish on a netbook

  • shouldn't you push F2 to get into Bios before loading windows and then F9 to save the upgrade Ram?

  • pixgirlie,

You may be right. I'm not familiar with that. What do you mean by "save the upgrade Ram"? Are you saying the way I did it may break the upgraded RAM?

  • Yeah, do this so your system recognizes the ram.

  • What ram did u used?

    Is Crucial DDR2 SO-DIMM PC6400 2048MB CL6, Non-ECC, 1.8V, 256Mx64, 200pin gonna be good

  • I used "OCZ 2 GB PC2-5400 667 MHz DDR2 Value SODIMM Laptop Memory" which I got from Amazon. (You can search "OCZ 2 GB PC2-5400 667 MHz DDR2 Value SODIMM Laptop Memory" on Amazon and easily find it.)

  • Great video! I can't wait for mine to come in the mail.

  • I'm wondering that the 1000HE will take pc6400 Ram or not

  • aznvnch, it will, but it will utilize it as 667 MHz PC5300 RAM.

  • One thing that was "wrong" with mine was several dead pixels. I was amazed to have them to spring to life after about a day of having it powered up. I think it might have been the heat from the monitor that coaxed them back to life.

  • appliance, they weren't dead pixels... they were just stuck. it happens often with lcd's. there are also little videos that flash through the colors that you put where the stuck pixels are and it will help "un-stick" them.

  • Thanks, security1769. Good to know. Now every last pixel is unstuck and that's just through regular use. It's a great little machine.

  • Not a problem! I've received mine and it IS a great machine. Definitely liking it!! :D

  • Nice dude, I'm hopefully getting my eee pc next week.

  • lol 6:55 it's not rocket surgery XD
