I'm sorry, but never announce you have a weapon to someone who just broke into your house. 80% of the time the person breaking in will be a crazed out drug addict who don't give a shit.
1. Wait in a dark corner on the same side of the room that the door is located (not across the room) point your weapon at door.
2. Allow person to enter the room (check to see if they are armed)
3a. If armed (shoot to kill) 3b. If not armed (shoot to kill)
@ForTheDefense76 I'm sorry you do not approve of my truthful post, I also pray that you never have to find out what you would do if someone breaks in to your house, quietly strangling your children to death while they sleep only to be spared by you, sent to prison, and lives off your hard earned tax money, while you live in torment. So yes, break in to my home, cause a threat to my loved ones, your dead plain and simple.

Wow, the melodrama painted in your little story really is ... something.
Nonetheless, I simply shall not allow you to misstate my position and then pillory me based upon that misstated position. My suggested title makes clear that I have ZERO issue with killing an intruder.
My suggested title was "How To Turn A Justifiable Self-Defense Homicide Into A 1st Degree Murder Charge In 4 Retarded Steps." A more precise title would be "How To Turn A Justifiable Self-Defense Homicide Into A 1st Degree Murder Charge In 1 Retarded Step." Specifically, step 4: "Ditch the body."
Why "ditch" the body of somebody you've legally shot? It creates a situation in which you can be convicted of murder over a perfectly lawful killing.
@ForTheDefense76 I see you and I differ greatly, in how each of us would handle a life threatening situation. You are thinking "Should I shoot this stranger, Hope I don't kill him, I don't want to go to jail" while I'm thinking "This stranger entered my home, they will in fact die, I'm not going to jail over this scumbag". My little story? Melodrama? Really, I'm not sure where your from, but here in Pittsburgh PA, its very real, then again, its getting bad everywhere these days.
@manuecat wrote, "@ForTheDefense76 I see you and I differ greatly, in how each of us would handle a life threatening situation. You are thinking "Should I shoot this stranger, Hope I don't kill him, I don't want to go to jail [...].
A blatant attempt at dodging my question, but an all too obvious dodge. So, once more: WHY "DITCH" THE BODY OF SOMEBODY YOU'VE LEGALLY SHOT? IT CREATES A SITUATION IN WHICH YOU CAN BE CONVICTED OF MURDER OVER A PERFECTLY LAWFUL KILLING.
@ForTheDefense76 Why take time from my day, miss work, and time with my family to go to court and defend my actions about killing some shitbag that entered my home, and endangered my family. For me there is only one thing to do. Yep throw them in the trash with the rest of the garbage. You see "For The Defense" I play by different rules, than most folks, for me, there are not laws. Eye for an eye. There are lots of people like me in the world, one thing we are not, and that is a victim.
@manuecat wrote, "Why take time from my day, miss work, and time with my family to go to court and defend my actions about killing some shitbag that entered my home, and endangered my family."
If you live in a "castle doctrine" state, and Pennsylvania has an extremely strong castle doctrine statute (it does not require a homeowner/renter to retreat before shooting), you need merely explain your actions to the police, not defend them in court.
@manuecat also wrote, "You see "For The Defense" I play by different rules, than most folks, for me, there are not laws [...] There are lots of people like me in the world, one thing we are not, and that is a victim."
Keep telling yourself that. Get caught dumping a body and you'll find out exactly how well those non-existent laws apply to you regardless of your fantasy that they don't.
Also, I won't hesitate to kill if necessary, but I'm not going to if not necessary.
@ForTheDefense76 Thanks for your words of wisdom, I'm sure your thoughtful discussion will cross my mind if my home is ever invaded. Good luck lady, I wish you the best.

calling 911.. and then while 911 is recording.. plainly speaking, saying
*** "I am ARMED" ***
*** "Do NOT Enter into this room" ***
or a variation of those 2 sentences.. repeated over and over.. will save YOU! a LOT! of head aches later.
As well when the Police arrive.. you will be cuffed and roughed up a lil in your own home for having a gun.. even though you put it down and followed instructions.. it is becuase they have a small penis and their wife hates them.. it is not your fault.
you broke the biggest rule of not only combat but self defence, NEVER EVER EVER back yourself into a corner with no escape, you were curled up into a corner of a room with no window or door to access as an exit. if there were multipul armed enemys you would have been dead. please do not show people tactics that are going to get them hurt or killed
@mattc1683 You make a good point. But, if you're going to back into a corner AND you have a 12 gauge.........that might not be such a bad place to be! lol.
@TheChatham1967 and what if the punk inside your home or punk's, have a shotgun as well? or both of them have one? a sawn off shotgun is a common gun used by criminals and armed home invaders. there are just to many "what ifs" in a situation like this to allow yourself to become trapped in a corner with no escape. This video is just full of bad information as well as tactics that will get someone killed. I am just trying to inform people before the worst happens to them
@mattc1683 Well that teenagedwidow in the news a few months ago,who had two punks break into her home just days after her husband's funeral, had her trapped with her child in the bedroom,She had her 12ga as well as a handgun Thank God.They even knew she was armed, still broke down the bedroom door to get at her but they didnt think she'd shoot. They were wrong.Only one got out alive. She made out quite well I'd say.Wheres YOUR solution to your "what if?" Youre armed, take your chances!
@bladesaint21 (part 1)She got lucky, nothing more. also those guys were most likely not armed them self. Fact is she is lucky. As for what would I do, I would make sure my "safe room" has at least 2 exits weather it be doors or windows, leading outside. It should also have a phone in it to call 911, I would not back myself into a corner but I would stay clear of the door they were behind incase they fire through it.
@mattc1683 The story of the Teenaged widow who called 911 as the two intruders were kicking down her barricaded bedroom door. She had her baby in the room with her in the crib. She was asking the dispatcher if it was "ok to shoot" and the response was to"You may defend yourself and your baby" they could hear the the yells and wood breaking over the phone, then the fatal shot. The dead guy.did have a large bowie style knife with him.and apparently has been stalking her and tried before.
@mattc1683 I think this young woman's experience is a perfect example to point out that no dangerous, emergency situation is routine. You must have the #WillToLive when it really counts. Thank goodness she did.
@bladesaint21 I would base myself in a position that would allow me to see them enter the door but they could not see me untill its to late, when the police show up I would give the dispatcher a code word for them to use so I know it is them and not the punks. Just yelling police is not good enough as they prob know I have called and can pretend to be police. I have seen this happen. The best self defence you have is your brain, use it.
@mattc1683 "SafeRoom"?!?!.Are you a1% who can afford to custom build a house from the ground up with a saferoom? Who do you know has one?You watch alot of movies, maybe you should use YOUR brain.Yes the girl was lucky. You do what you think you need to do but if she took your advice,I doubt she'd be around to talk about. The police obviously didnt get there intime, they didnt care that she had a shotgun, they didnt care she was on the phone with 911.She couldnt run carrying her baby.
Hey, how do you load a shotgun? I know you load the shells under it but how? For example, Ithaca M37, 5 rounds. 4 at the tubular magazine and 1 at the chamber. Do you need to pump when you load the last round at the chamber?
@Juwan54 while the action is open put in a shell pump it up then load the tube. but dont keep your gun loaded unless you need to. also storing shells in the tube for long periods will wear down your spring.

If you were in a self defense situation would it be better to incapacitate someone rather than kill them if they have a weapon? I mean, obviously your going to take him out if your looking down his barell, but if you told him to not come in, you have a weapon and he comes in anyways, would you shoot his legs if you saw them first? Then secure him and his weapon?
@MonteLSV6 Never shoot to wound/incapacitate. As already pointed out you destroy any legal defense & opens many more possible criminal indictments. Second, if you HAVE to shoot someone, wounding them leaves them as a threat, & hence you are still vulnerable. If you are in a position to shoot to wound you are in a position not to shoot at all (those will be the exact closing words of the prosecution FYI). Lastly, never shoot at the back, especially if they're fleeing for all above reasons.
What I'm wondering if a guy bursts in your door he's gonna shoot you 911 should be the first thing to do I know that but I don't understand how he won't kill you before the police get there cause The police are fast I know but Their not as fast as light is what I'm saying.
To even have to go through all this when someone invades your home is a bit immoral to me. If someone forcibly enters your home then by implication your life is in danger and whatever happens to the perpetrator is their own fault, whether they are armed or not. They have committed a crime and the risk of harm should all be on them. America and it's laws are a veritable cesspool of warped thinking.
Interesting tactical concept and wise to have the phone in use on the record. I have to say that is the cleanest, and less cluttered house I have seen in years. One security I have is an intruder at night would trip over my book boxes right now. It is also a wise idea to have a light source on the weapon like I use on my Glock in case they cut the power. It can give an edge since you know your house and the intruder hopefully does not.
the only three things to say to police after using a weapon in self defense: 1. I was in fear of my life. 2. I want the offender arrested and I would like to press charges. 3. I would like to speak to my lawyer. SAY NOTHING MORE!
@romeodelta1178 Spoken like a true professional, probably the most intelligent post on YouTube. Those 3 phrases are what I teach in my advanced firearm courses specifically for conceal-carry holders. Thank you!
@romeodelta1178 Very true, but of course if the offender is toten then #2 is a moot point. People need to check into their state laws regarding defending oneself against home invasion/robbery as well. We do not have a "stand your ground" law here and if someone breaks into your home and you kill them, you can still be legally liable for their death. The law stating that you can still find a away out of your home as opposed to shooting the perpetrator. Utter nonsense, but that is how it is here.
@Weapon01 We have "Castle Doctrine" in my state... are you telling me there are actually states that a person could live in and in the case of an intruder INSIDE the person's home they WOULD NOT be able to shoot em dead?
@1eye4revolution Unfortunitly yeah. Just because the law says you can defend yourself in your own home, you still may be tried by jury.
In that case your judicially-weeded-out jury members may question.. "Why does a man need such a big gun?" Their knowledge of guns only extends to what they see and hear on the news and in the movies.
The law may be on your side, but the jury may be dumb as shit.
@1eye4revolution Probably considering legal use-or-force statutes in different states. The 911 operator on the phone hears the home owner saying "stay away, please send help" etc. It makes him look and sound good to the jury.
@Weapon01 That's correct. He was using the phone not only to call for help, but to build his legal defense. That's very important. Living in a "castle doctrine" state is a great asset, but don't assume that those laws give you the "right" to just shoot someone. You never know what will happen in a courtroom. It is best not to ever have to be in that situation! Another thing about this phone tactic is that it may scare the invader away. Why get into a battle if you don't have to?
