1st. Every time I run my test I'll adjust the mic volume to exactly where I want it, but as soon as I slide it to where I want it, it starts slowly bumping its way up by itself till it reaches full volume, so I have to set it where I want and immediately hit next, then it stays where I want it.
I can even slide it all the way down to like 1% recording volume, and it will just start raising by itself until it reaches full, does it in about 3 to 4 seconds time in small increments.
2nd. It almost seems as though you are suggesting in your video that full recording volume is where you want it to be, do you always turn your mic all the way up?
I mean your voice over for the vid sounded fine but for most people and for most setups setting your mic level at 100% is not a good idea, misses the whole point of adjusting it and finding the best level.
If I set mine to full I would have to do my voice overs from across the room or my audio would redline every other syllable.
haha, yeah it never really occurred to me that some people may be entirely unaware of the little sound hardware test, it's the first thing I go to whenever I'm setting up different audio devices...
What if that whole section (voice) Is greyed out?

A quick tip; the mic has a boost option that increases the volume, this can knock the quality down a bit sometimes :)

When you run the wizard it sets your mic where it is best suited for playback, sounds like you might have the mic boost turned on.
