  • In order to project holograms outside the box, particles are to be suspended in mid-air with specific reflective configurations via elecromagnetic fields onto a 3 dimensional air grid for lasers to luminate. (This is just my personal guess of the future beyond our current technology)

  • Don't you see the parallax? Like all real holograms, it's 3D.

  • An hologram is 3D by definition.

  • Free energy can change the world! But the coverup is very strong,Go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and get the blueprints for a genuine magnet motor ,Start the revolution!

  • The image quality looks similar to the rotary televisions of old, well except for the 3d part. dang i want a real holographic tv for realz and not these fake 3d crap tvs we have now.

  • this Hologram is sadly shit compared to the Japanese hologram with the girl singing on stage lol

  • @narutocaprirequest2 Except that Japanese thing isn't a hologram at all but just a projection on a glass surface.

  • @Hankman9

im not talking about that one im talking about the one that was on the news two weeks ago.

  • @narutocaprirequest2 ...and coincidentally i got to this vid 'cuz i was watching that girl's concert.

  • @narutocaprirequest2 ive been watching that....that doesnt actually look 3d. Its a 2d hologram it looks like. Havent found any specs, though

  • This tech is ancient ... Japan has just hosted a full ... live ... 3D hologramatic concert with moving, singing, dancing, life size, colour supercute girls. The video is on my channel.

  • @bambarby He can't, he has no weiner.

  • @bambarby "lol you want 3d tits? Go get a girlfriend :P"

Heck, I've got empirical evidence that's not even a sure thing..;D)

  • Holograms are a waste of time , whaith to see Holorama Tm!!!

  • Holograms will be a waste of time , compared to Holorama Tm, a new understanding on how the human eye works.

Indistinguashable from reality, full collored animation in full speed.

No carboarding, no eye strain, no head aches.

    Compatible with Cg or Photography.

Holorama can also be viewed on special Holorama Tm visors that play prety much like a view master but with the wide angle view as a Imax experience.

    More info comming soon!!

  • One step closer to virtual yugioh =D

  • it some more of 3d image with out the glass since it in medium.

  • Kinda awesome how nerdy that professor is :D "OMG WTF It's just like Star Wars!" XD

  • (cont.) ... just that: A Myth. Can you fake it? Sure, and that is probably our best bet for the future. I've seen everything from parabolic mirrors, and trans-screens, to spinning mirrors and the old "Pepper's Ghost" & P's Ghost re-invented. But none of them can produce a TRUE-3D image. At least this does that. Right now the closest thing to a true 3D hologram that animates are large scale display holograms like the ones I used to sell. Full motion/color, but only a few seconds of "video."

  • I've been in the holography industry since 92' ... it's the same crap, different year. M.I.T. had a 4" proto-type (that I thought looked better than this) back in the 90's. This is -- and more importantly NEVER WILL BE -- anything like the Star Wars (or Star Trek, or pick your favorite sci-fi series special effect). You can NOT project something onto thin air ... their always has to be a medium. It defies the laws of physics to do otherwise. The mythic "Princess Leia hologram" is ...

  • sucks.

  • OMG ITS NOT A HOLOGRAM

    OMG YES IT IS.

    Use your brains people.

    This is a hologram.

What we all want from Star wars is "Holographic Projection"

And to all those underaged kids in here complaining how it isnt lifelike enough.

Television was black and white once, be grateful for the things you have by learning how they came about.

  • that's a very boring narrator(people). I like the technology in the video though.

  • sick....but COOOOL:D

  • Comment removed

  • ****WATCH A VIDEO OF SOMEONE TAKING A SHIT ON THE ROAD ON MY CHANNEL****

  • not a hologram

  • wow this is stupid

  • This is not a hologram. Ugh... It's in a plastic case... It's not tangible. Ok, in 2007 or 2008 on American idol, they actually BEAMED Elvis Presley down on stage and it was like he was there whole. That's a hologram. Dumbasses

  • @TomenGage1 Are you a moron?? Seriously? You think Elvis was beamed down on to the stage?

  • @TomenGage1 Wow you really need to learn what a hologram is...

  • this is what nintendo will do for thie next console!! wii 2!!

  • "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi you're my only hope."

  • So slowly printed 3D images. No holograms.

  • @SpecklePattern it IS a hologram FFS but like a normal screen it shows one image at a time. the reason it is 3d is BECAUSE it is a hologram.

you can read more at wiki

  • @baekalfen True. I was thinking projection like the guy was talking.

  • Now thats a real Star-Wars fan...... Others who dress up like the characters are just a bunch of losers. I want to see some one like him making a real life light saber :)

  • Awesome work!

  • @ErectMonstrosity Get a girlfriend.

  • @PaulinhosmBR lol

  • this is the same technology as the 3DS sorry Japan beat you to it

  • @sophieeelizabeth93 no its a little bit more advanced then that. Sorry...

  • youtube.com/watch?v=Q35GxtHIc9c

  • Want to travle into other peoples memories?

"look for this si-fi on the tube : " once in a life time - a short movie

  • Wow! Technology has come a long way! The green, striped hologram looks so life like. I can't tell it from the real thing.

  • 3D pr0n now!

  • 3D BOOBS!

  • <------Bülent Ceylan + Kaya Yanar SEHR LUSTIG 2010

  • 12 people who disliked couldnt find a job with their degrees.

  • Its ironic that they want to pioneer holographic images when theyre still using Windows xp.

  • @vithum Well windows xp was a very powerful operating system

  • @CrazyIDuff, you are charming and we all look forward to you getting that education, because you need it.

  • interesting technology, but the example looks crappy...

  • @Dendradon Yeah keep in mind that it's still brand new and done with university technology....and holograms don't come across well on cameras (cameras are sensitive to light, so our eyes can focus, sharpen, and asjust to dark much better than any camera). It's always good to see smart people using their powers for good lol.

  • much too high for me

  • rofl .. u americans are way behind..

here in saudi arabia we did the 3D real thing

    in King Abdullah university

watch the clip so these suckers knows they are way behind

    watch?v=59c61D2jVMU

  • @CrazyIDuff and the you ride home on a donkey cart.

  • @apfeltaschn actuly , i ride one of my luxury cars

and yh , i get a free education at ur countrey .. where u cant have that

am comin over next feb , yh its free + actuly my goverment also gives me 2600$ a month 2 do that ;) .. am not sayin that i need it .. am saying u cant have it

when u spend all ur life trollin and we get everything

  • @CrazyIDuff Everything piece of technology your sand nigger hands touch was invented in America ! Go take a shower , and treat the women equal you troglodyte!

  • @CrazyIDuff

    100% true

    :)

  • @CrazyIDuff

Impressive, are the more videos or info?

  • @breezehart

well since isnt my thing but.. in King Abdullah university ( city ) where the vid was taken when they realesed it they also said that the dr can teach meny classes even if hes home and he can see the audince just like they see him , where they use the

Fiber Optic for the internet web in all the city

how great is that .. am hoping that soon u can just go 2 colleg on 3D :P

  • @CrazyIDuff Aren't you a country which is still ruled by a king? Dude you are way behind... we got rid of that over a hundred years ago.

  • @UBCSmerc Idiot. There are alot of countries in europe that still have kings and queens. The Netherlands has a queen, but she doesnt "rule". Having a royal family doesnt mean a country isnt democratic.

  • @HawK047 Don't try to lecture me on geography. I'm not arguing with anyone, I'm stating a fact Saudi Arabia has a similar ruling system to that of many countries which have had openly incidents of sheiks and kings abusing their power for the misery of their people, I don't care if you guys like it or not because, for my joy, it's simply true.

  • @UBCSmerc i'm sorry to have to tell you...this video has nothing to do with sheiks!!!

  • @tamewolf Who said it ever did? I don't recall saying it was... All I recall is people trying to look like good guys and failing hard. Now please, go find something useful to do.

  • @UBCSmerc This video has nothing to do with good guys;only holograms! I'm sorry you have so much freetime that you post comments that are completely unrelated to the video :(

  • @tamewolf What's up with being sorry for something that is completely up to option?

So you think you're better than me because you spend less time in YouTube? LoL go get treatment.

  • @CrazyIDuff well Americans are not really into consumer technology. They are more into military.

  • @CrazyIDuff lol, slaves that "play" your hologram image do not count as technological advancement

  • I dont get it...

  • weak...

  • yeah but its on one layer isn't it so its not really 3d there is it?

  • That looked pretty lousy to me.

  • Cool story bro

  • @VietComedian big dicks for you :D

  • boring

  • looks like it will only make a new kind of holograph printer, not a 60Hz television. This is just a rewritable holograph, not a pop out 360 degree viewing angle hologram. The laser interference on a film is the wrong direction.

A holograph is a 3d picture made by interference between 2 lasers on a film,

A hologram is out in mid air from all viewing angles.

p.s. I want my holograph printer now!

  • @leerman22 He says the refresh rate is now at 0.5hz That's just today, and yea it doesn't look like a consumer form factor. Our apologies for not having light sabers built yet, either. lol

  • its surely impressive but useless for tvs and gaming etc. because you have to move around to see the 3D effect. this could be useful for ingeneers and surgeons etc.

  • NASA Blue Beam Project. Google it

  • wtf did he bring out R2D2??? this looks nothing like it, this guy must be on a serious mushroom situation :D :D :D

"we´re there"??? yeah right, we´re like a million light years from being there, keep up the good work grandpa, you sure need to...

  • @limalhadeferro I believe I speak for just about everyone here when I say "Die in a fire jackwagon."

  • Nice hologram technology improvements here, we're one step closer to Holo-TVs.

However I don't like the overuse of this Star Wars quote every time people talk about holograms.

The R2D2 Princess Leïa hologram is completely different from the ones achievable in the real world. R2D2 can display a picture in mid air without any screen or support.

  • @BlackSharkfr Good thing it dosen't matter what you like or not. It is referenced for publicity reasons because EVERYONE remembers the R2D2-Hologram and understands the reference.

U might take it as a marketing trick to get attention. Or you might as well take it as a reference for the shape of things to come.... for what these scientists hope to achieve with their development in the future.

  • I would have liked to have seen more of the 3D and just have him as a voice over. Also, this is a screen, not thin air.

  • This was not nearly as cool as the news stories made it out to be. This is probably why they didn't link to any video or pictures of the device.

I doubt this technique will ever catch on for commercial purposes.

  • @mutualdisdain Its still in the early research phase, people also said to the early TV it will never catch on for commercial purposes ;-)

  • wow

  • It seems like it would be a lot cheaper to use mini cameras and then project with a bunch of pico projectors onto the inside of a translucent cylinder or sphere. Same spatial limitations but with color, no lag it's easier to compensate for distortion.

  • I guess it will be like this :

    watch?v=bB_-Lb6l5As

  • *strokes chin* Interesting now improve the refresh rate please.

  • Well done. Keep going.
