The guy was kind of an ass and wouldn't respond to the officers requests. Is it me or does the media always just play one segment of a tape? It reminded me of the Chris Farley "Bees ....Bee, they are everywhere" bit. How the hell is the cop supposed to know what is going on? But the cop should have also let him go the moment he found out the story was true. They were both wrong to let their egos get in the way of sound judgment.

Go to the Dallas police website and read their Mission Statement - part of it reads The Dallas Police will - "Treat citizens and their fellow employees courteously and with the same amount of dignity with which they expect to be treated themselves."
