I was at this race! I was 11 years old. Coo-Coo Marlin was my hero for many years...right up there with Superman, Batman and the Lone Ranger. I was an avid Nashville race fan until I was drafted in '73. Back then people were loyal to "their" local neighborhood driver(s). I lived in Nashville, so I was an "outcast" because I was a Marlin fan, he was out of Columbia, TN.

I was there too. Big Red Farmer fan, but liked Coo Coo as well. I was a "Flatrock" boy, from the neighborhood!
