Even though Barry left after Andy and Colin said his songs weren't up to XTC standards, they still appreciated one another. Despite Democrat vs. Republican arguments in the US, MOST people are able to rise above such utter BS.
Yeah, Barry was crazy playing keyboards and piano. Who else moves their piano three feet jumping around? And I have heard Traffic Light Rock, I like it.
yeah,i can,t find it here,but another band has covered it,it,s about a minute plus only.i got it on vinyl from australia,as a b-side.-quirky,but catchy,also,i had barry,s early stuff-rossmere road,sargasso bar mousetrap,,etc
I have Monstrance, and there is NO way I can classify THAT album is to compare it to Barry's side project from a few years back called "Stic Basin", which I liked/like a lot. Monstrance is something I am glad I have simply to say that I have it, but I NEVER listen to it. Its not something to just sit and enjoy. Its almost frightening, especially if I am alone he he. Check out the newest Shriekback album "Cormorant"....it is VERY nice.
I love Barry and Andy but yeah "Monstrance" was just a jam they recorded..sort of sounds like King Crimson jamming with no payoff really. Can't get into it at all.

OMG that Thomas Dolby song in the background!!!! Lol. "I Scare Myself", i think that's from 1984 so that must be when this interview is from?

I recall seeing considerably more of this interview a long time ago; sadly, this is all the footage that I have.

A great little clip. Is there any more of that interview? What program was it from? I think the first XTC was my favourite incarnation.

andy thinking of himself & his doings as being historic, as early as '82. that explains it. e.s. was their final record.

Which means we're talking at least 1986. But then, PEOPLE ARE DYING EVERYWHERE AND THE WORLD IS SCREWED. Pay attention to THAT instead.
