Maybe the "Presidential Council on Nation Branding Republick of Korea" and "Voluntary Agency Network of Korea (VANK)" who wants to make K-POP and other Korean contents famous have something to do with this. Anyway, we need to investigate more.

現在YouTubeに投稿された初音ミク関連動画が大量に削除されている。これら一連の事件を『YouTube初音ミク動画大量削除事件』と呼ばれており国内外でちょっとした騒ぎになっているのでこの場で取り上げたい。
この『YouTube初音ミク動画大量削除事件』は何者かにより「著作権侵害の申請」が出され、動画が閲覧できないようになっている。しかしこの「著作権侵害の申請」が偽申請だという疑惑が浮上しているのだ。
『YouTube』に投稿されている日本語版動画は削除されていないが、本家を翻訳した英語版、スペイン語版その他の言語版の初音ミク動画が「笹純一」という権利者により削除申請されているのだ。しかしこの肝心の削除申請者は1人ではなくほかにも名前を持っており、「笹金純一」「笹川純一」「笹村純一」といくつもの名前で削除申請している。このことから誰が何の目的で削除要請しているのか分からず、また削除申請事態も偽申請（嫌がらせ）だという疑惑が出ている。

In the original video, it clearly says "negi" which translates to "Green Onion", which is another name for Spring Onion.

I'm sorry...but this is really awful. I understand the facination (ok, that was lie) but...the Olympics? When the Olympics go to Japan, that's fine.
