Awesome song to a fantastic movie i grew up with Paul Williams is a unique singer and who knew he ended up being one of Batman's enemies. Someone should do a AMV of James Cameron's Avatar set to this song.
Children now don't seem to be interested in real issues, cruelty, death, standing up against injustices. They just want to talk about frivolity. I watch on as both parents and children carelessly indulge there egos.
Well I've gone on to be a vegan (not the annoying preachy kind though), environmentalist, out spoken writer. It's nice to think even though I'm 22, I really haven't changed all that much.
this is sad, NIMH actually exists, it is an acronym for the National Institute of Mental Health as a child you dont think about those things. But as an adult you see how terrible humans can be. They still do all kinds of terrible experiments on rats to get certain responses out of them
Who else misses old animated movies like this one, which not only had beautiful music and animation, but also talked about real themes of life, death, love, loss, and sacrifice?
awesome. just watched it again last weekend w/ my little brothers - after 20 years. I didn't remember the exact melody of the song, but I remembered that it moved me, back then when I was 7 yrs old. still moves me today...
wow, this was my fav movie growing up and i suppose it still is though i heavm't seen it in ages before today :( liove this song so much, i still knew it word for word. it's beautifully done, thanks indeed for posting this. perfect!! :)
i loved the book. i think it was better than the movie in ways, but i liked the movie in that justin didn't die.....and i loved the magic amulet thingie....
And "Bambi's Children" by the same author of "Bambi". I swear no one has ever read it except me, sigh. Loved it. They never made a movie of it, probably why no one ever heard of it, and it was MANY years ago.
I love Felix Salten's books I collect first additions when I find them I like Fifteen Rabbits, Gobo from Bambi makes a appearance in it, just before his death, I've never read 'Bambi's children,' I'm still looking for that one, 'A Forest World' is anther I wont,
So interesting, impersonation, I have been looking for my copy of "Bambi's Children"; no luck so far. Of course, that was about 65 years ago, lol. The children were twins, Fala and Faline. Ah, the memories.
I recently fond a first addition of 'Djibi The Kitten' it still has the cover!'Good Comrades' is a very good one to, I have that one, it's a collection of his short stories, there is one in there called 'Brown Liesl' about a cow who has her calf taken from her,its so moving it makes you cry,
So one of Falines children is also called Faline, thank you for that, I was wondering what the children where called,
I do hope you find a copy of that book, every one of his books are very special,
Yes, they are. Also, Bambi and Bambi's Children were translated by the infamous Whitticer Chambers...I think. One of those envolved in the "Pumpkin Plot" spy thingee. You are probably too young to remember, or being British, may not be familiar with it.
Yes your right, it was Whittaker Chambers, it states so in the Fifteen Rabbits book,
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the 'Pumpkin Plot' I was born in 1970, so its all new to me, in the UK Felix Salten's books where realest a few yours after they where in the US to,and had slightly different covers.
From the body shape, nose, little messed up hair at the top. Also my hamster was just as good of a mother as Mrs. Brisby was. Taking care 6 f her own children and 4 of another hamsters babies.
amazing job. i love this movie and this song. i remember first seeing it when i was really little, six or so, and then a few years later my mom got it and the sequel for me one Christmas. and i still love it <3 lol. great job.

i read the book, and it was mrs. Frisby!!!! oops! they made an error, cause the book came first.
willowpool 4 years ago
that's because they thought, children would laugh about the name "frisby", so they re-named her for the movie!
