Have the tea chest tapes become available. I was in The Joe Meek Appreciation Society at one time and that was what everyone wanted. It's just that there seems a sudden outpouring of demos and unreleased material suddenly available. Joe Meek truly was a genius
This is from a Joe Meek double CD. Not sure what the Tea Chest Tapes, I guess he kept the demos in there, but have a look round Amazon, there's plenty out there now.
Only gives the first published date in 1998Reading through the sleeve notes it might be 1963. Quite a retro sound even for then! The 'Orchestra' was Ivor Raymonde and various session players, some with classical orientation.
It reminded me of a Brian Wilson CD I once had. A solo album, one track was called "For The Boys". The "boys" were clearly the Beach Boys and Brian's message was loud and clear - don't need you. Joe Meek produced a succession of stars who really owed their success to his genius.
girly video? you ol' stuffy thang!!! That's my heart when I listen and look at my Helen...and as for Ms. "I like Susan Maughan better than H.S deBrush,"......well, I just won't say..."

What year was this, Sir B? Sounds like Joe's saying, "Don't need the Tornadoes". The man was just mega-talented!

You can bet 'girly video' means something different on '63's channel.

Really, really nice,Sir Basil. I do have a soft spot for those dreamy ballads. Love instrumentals, too!

Even Mrs Basil thinks I like songs which can be a bit too soppy at times. But I just love these spine-tingling 'Moon River' types.

That'll get you points anytime with a woman , I think!
