Where's the lunar rover? Why is the picture so smooth without any rocks? Why does the first ridge look smoother than the second ridge when there's supposed to be a big clump of rocks there?
@john17972, Good question. The resolution of the Kaguya/Selene terrain camera is 10 meters. That means that a pixel of information covers a 10 square meters box. In other words, at its altitude of 100 km, it cannot resolve something smaller than that size. The Lunar Module was about 4.5 meters wide and the rover was even smaller. The point here is that the Hadley Rille mountain range is NOT so small and it's profile exactly matches what was photographed with a film camera from ground level.

Apollo was an achievement for the whole of the U.S., lead by the federal goverment and inspired by a President who was willing to upset local politicians to achieve goals he believed were right and necessary.

Sure, Apollo needed to know the heights of mountains and the depths of craters, but that doesn't mean they had the technology to construct 3D photos in the fashion done by Kaguya.

If you want proof of that it was a hoax, no need of going further than listen to the Houston - "Moon" communication. There is no delay between Houston and "Moons" responds, that's absolutely impossible, there must theoretically at least be 5 seconds delay, rather 10 seconds or more. So there is your proof of the hoax, simple as that.

Based on the speed of light and the distance to the moon (approx. 238,000 miles), the delay in response from Apollo astronauts (remember, all audio is recorded in Houston) should be 2.6 seconds...AVERAGE. This is heard in 100s of hours of Apollo video recordings, except for those public relation or film productions which have been edited for time purposes. 5-10 seconds? Where in the world do you get that?!
2,6 seconds is between Earth.... Moon. But you must count ( Apollo 11 ) time from Houston over a station in Californis, to down under. That's where I get it from, and the delay is down to 1 second, that is obviously not possible, so it's a hoax, that does not take an Phd in thinking to see that.

Also, if you were a PhD, you'd know that Apollo's video transmission was picked up at both Goldstone in California and Honeysuckle in Australia. Audio was captured all over NASA's MSFN network--Florida, Zanzabar, ships in the Pacific AND TEXAS! I don't know what you're hearing, but you're probably listening to something edited or you're confusing the various voices in transmission (CAPCOM, launch control, Aldrin, Armstrong, Collins, etc.)

Ironically, that youtube video perfectly demonstrates the delay. At :33 Houston says to Michael Collins in the orbiting CSM, "They got the flag up now..." 2.6 seconds later you hear this repeated as Collin's own communications microphone picks it up!
How do you know it's edited or not, what I remember I found it in the Honey suckle archive, a couple of years ago, now I can't find it again. Do you seriously believe that it takes between 3 and 8 sec between ISS and some one on Earth, but it only takes between 3 - 4 sec between Houston and Moon. That the time I heard, I've just listened. This YouTube video delay is 1 - 1,5 sec. There is nothing more degrading than someone playing dumb, to help his fairy tale.

And the ISS audio/video is digital and requires compression, introducing a delay. Have you taken that into account? Apollo was analog, the signal travelled at the speed of light over its entire journey.

So let me rephrase: Digital signals will require decoding at the destination and encoding at the source. This will introduce a delay beyond the travel time from transmitter to receiver. Apollo, using an analog system, wouldn't have those delays and the delay would thus only be because of the distance between transmitter and receiver.
no kidding but the scanning of the moon would of found the equipment or some reminiscence of it being there. When also scanning the moon it doesn't say hey skip the equipment and just scan the surface of the moon. It scans everything.
The fact is 3D technology, fundamentally, is a rather old point of mathematics and by extension other disciplines, in this case the very most pertinent of which would be cartography. The 3D nature of the Lunar surface-- called it's topography was already known, and that it could be rather precisely extrapolated to form images is indisputable. Topographical maps and stereographical reliefs existed in the 60s. We used the ruby laser to produce very accurate lunar measurements back in the 60s.

@australianmade74, if you do the math, you'd see that Hubble is not a good tool for seeing the surface details of the moon. An LM on the moon is 4 meters across. From Hubble, it would be about 0.002 arcsec in size. The highest resolution instrument on Hubble can view 0.03 arcsec. So anything we left on the Moon would just appear as a dot from Hubble. Why would you believe Hubble any more or less than Kaguya or the Lunar Recon Orbiter? The Hubble MATH doesn't lie. RESEARCH!

@kevinstuartfr0st, Big deal. NASA admittedly took panoramic photos deliberately, to be stitched together later. There is even video showing the astronauts as they took these photos. The fact that they don't stitch together perfectly is no one's fault. And no, they didn't "clone" anything.The pan stitching took place LONG before the process was digital. It was done openly in a studio. No one faked anything, but just to present the photos in their best light. EVERY photographer does that!

@kevinstuartfr0st, for starters, the movement of dust from the back of the rover's wheels measures PERFECTLY. The ballistic trajectory corresponds exactly to the moon's 1/6 earth's gravity AND the lack of dust clouds normally seen on earth suggest to me this is a real rover on the moon. Then, of course, there is the veracity of the entire Apollo program that leads me to believe the rover is as true as everything else.

@LunarTuner Some of these hoax nuts are discovering the hard way why their school curriculum emphasized the importance of mastering the English language. I used to teach GED prep in a local jail and many of my students were very eager to learn how to write well because they were conscious of what a handicap it can be not to have decent writing skills. And keep in mind that the LM cuts its engines 3 meters above the surface. Most dust is done flying before it touches down. Dust also flies pretty far in lunar gravity, so it's not likely to be on footpads. No bulsh** there--just plain sense.

The LM hits the moon at approximately 7mph or 3 meters per sec. (about 2 secs of fall in lunar gravity). It is designed with shock absorbing legs. The reason is because of the danger of putting the descent stage bell too close to the surface and sending debris into the bottom of the craft.

Have you ever seen the lunar ascent videos for A15 thru A17? You will notice, in varying degrees, how the whole sky becomes a haze. That is because of the high velocity dust particles being blown away. These particles can travel hundreds of yards because there is no air. And there is no billowing, which would occur in air.
Same thing on descent. Virtually all of the dust that's blown goes much farther than the pads.
@kevinstuartfr0st Also, as LunarTuner said, the engines cut off a little before they actually touched down. So the pads still weren't on the ground by the time the dust stopped blowing.

More recently, they have sent the LRO with resolution greater than 1 pixel per meter from 100km high. Why would the Japanese try to do the same? How can you say their 3D imaging terrain camera isn't among the best in the world? It's the 1st to ever do this type photography.
As for "any big telescope". Nope, THAT is crap. No earth telescope can do it.

@john17972, Good question. The resolution of the Kaguya/Selene terrain camera is 10 meters. That means that a pixel of information covers a 10 square meters box. In other words, at its altitude of 100 km, it cannot resolve something smaller than that size. The Lunar Module was about 4.5 meters wide and the rover was even smaller. The point here is that the Hadley Rille mountain range is NOT so small and it's profile exactly matches what was photographed with a film camera from ground level.

If you want proof of that it was a hoax, no need of going further than listen to the Houston - "Moon" communication. There is no delay between Houston and "Moons" responds, that's absolutely impossible, there must theoretically at least be 5 seconds delay, rather 10 seconds or more. So there is your proof of the hoax, simple as that.

Based on the speed of light and the distance to the moon (approx. 238,000 miles), the delay in response from Apollo astronauts (remember, all audio is recorded in Houston) should be 2.6 seconds...AVERAGE. This is heard in 100s of hours of Apollo video recordings, except for those public relation or film productions which have been edited for time purposes. 5-10 seconds? Where in the world do you get that?!

Also, if you were a PhD, you'd know that Apollo's video transmission was picked up at both Goldstone in California and Honeysuckle in Australia. Audio was captured all over NASA's MSFN network--Florida, Zanzabar, ships in the Pacific AND TEXAS! I don't know what you're hearing, but you're probably listening to something edited or you're confusing the various voices in transmission (CAPCOM, launch control, Aldrin, Armstrong, Collins, etc.)

@kennjohnsen, you don't seriously think that is an unedited video, do you? It's VERY edited!! I see nothing in that post indicating that the audio was EXCLUSIVELY recorded at Honeysuckle (although, it probably was recorded there as well.).
Ironically, that youtube video perfectly demonstrates the delay. At :33 Houston says to Michael Collins in the orbiting CSM, "They got the flag up now..." 2.6 seconds later you hear this repeated as Collin's own communications microphone picks it up!

How do you know it's edited or not, what I remember I found it in the Honey suckle archive, a couple of years ago, now I can't find it again. Do you seriously believe that it takes between 3 and 8 sec between ISS and some one on Earth, but it only takes between 3 - 4 sec between Houston and Moon. That the time I heard, I've just listened. This YouTube video delay is 1 - 1,5 sec. There is nothing more degrading than someone playing dumb, to help his fairy tale.

That video you've been referencing with a "1-1,5 sec." delay is edited. The quindar tones alone prove it.
And the ISS audio/video is digital and requires compression, introducing a delay. Have you taken that into account? Apollo was analog, the signal travelled at the speed of light over its entire journey.

@roamingcroat Right, I just read my last line over again and it makes it sound like I'm saying digital signals sent by radio don't travel at the speed of light. So let me rephrase: Digital signals will require decoding at the destination and encoding at the source. This will introduce a delay beyond the travel time from transmitter to receiver. Apollo, using an analog system, wouldn't have those delays and the delay would thus only be because of the distance between transmitter and receiver.

@australianmade74, if you do the math, you'd see that Hubble is not a good tool for seeing the surface details of the moon. An LM on the moon is 4 meters across. From Hubble, it would be about 0.002 arcsec in size. The highest resolution instrument on Hubble can view 0.03 arcsec. So anything we left on the Moon would just appear as a dot from Hubble. Why would you believe Hubble any more or less than Kaguya or the Lunar Recon Orbiter? The Hubble MATH doesn't lie. RESEARCH!

The fact that they don't stitch together perfectly is no one's fault. And no, they didn't "clone" anything.The pan stitching took place LONG before the process was digital. It was done openly in a studio. No one faked anything, but just to present the photos in their best light. EVERY photographer does that!

The ballistic trajectory corresponds exactly to the moon's 1/6 earth's gravity AND the lack of dust clouds normally seen on earth suggest to me this is a real rover on the moon. Then, of course, there is the veracity of the entire Apollo program that leads me to believe the rover is as true as everything else.

And keep in mind that the LM cuts its engines 3 meters above the surface. Most dust is done flying before it touches down. Dust also flies pretty far in lunar gravity, so it's not likely to be on footpads. No bulsh** there--just plain sense.

The LM hits the moon at approximately 7mph or 3 meters per sec. (about 2 secs of fall in lunar gravity). It is designed with shock absorbing legs. The reason is because of the danger of putting the descent stage bell too close to the surface and sending debris into the bottom of the craft.

Have you ever seen the lunar ascent videos for A15 thru A17? You will notice, in varying degrees, how the whole sky becomes a haze. That is because of the high velocity dust particles being blown away. These particles can travel hundreds of yards because there is no air. And there is no billowing, which would occur in air.
Same thing on descent. Virtually all of the dust that's blown goes much farther than the pads.

Keep in mind, this is in an atmosphere which seriously slows the movement of the flour particles. *And* the gravity is 6 times greater than on the moon.
Don't like flour? Okay, do it with concrete mix. It's very similar to regolith.

@kiutukri, The US already sent 9 flights to the moon with excellent, medium format Hasselblad cameras, 16mm film cameras & live TV transmission. More recently, they have sent the LRO with resolution greater than 1 pixel per meter from 100km high. Why would the Japanese try to do the same? How can you say their 3D imaging terrain camera isn't among the best in the world? It's the 1st to ever do this type photography.
As for "any big telescope". Nope, THAT is crap. No earth telescope can do it.

That would be the LEAST likely explanation in the face of the evidence we DO have that JAXA sent an orbiter to the moon equipped with a 3D imaging terrain camera.
