  • @Cheeko1111, just to set the record straight, trey wrote yem when he and fish went to italy in 86, which would make him 22...still incredible and not trying to be argumentative, just trying to keep the facts the facts. peace out and see ya on the road!

  • I hope to hear this in ManchVegas Oct 26 2010!

  • if i could go back in time i would trip balls and sit like three feet in front of the stage at this show. people would think i was nuts but i would know...

  • @giffdmb hahaha i think the same thing man

  • i looove hearing some girl say "they're really good" towards the end.

  • oh man, they were so crunchy back then!

  • WOAH!! note that trey's higher octave guitar parts as the video starts are non-existant and are instead simple rythm! nice to know that even trey didn't sit down and say ill just write YEM now. took a while to develop.

  • WHOA!!!! Check out the mullet at 2:34

  • i like how this is played slower... but at the same time i like it faster

  • Languedoc.. paul their sound guy makes it all i believe.. even the bass and bass amp.. pretty sure

  • NO GLOWSTICKS ?????

  • dang no bass during the pauses at 2:15

  • its a fender amp for sure

  • The brand of guitar is Time Guitars, eastern company. Non existent now.

  • Paul Languedoc worked for Time guitars. Previous to this guitar Trey played an Ibanez Musician, in 1987 I believe Paul built his 1st of the guitars Trey plays today. Most people think Treys Languedoc is an original design but take a look at a 70's Fender Starcaster sometime and you'll notice a familiar shape :)

  • this may be a weird comparison but i hear a lot of jethro tull influence from 3 minutes and before. sounds like something out of thick as a brick. am i the only one that hers that?

  • Nope, I hear it too.

  • yep hear it

  • not a fender....similar body...but the headstock is nothing like a fender.

  • especially at the 4:28 mark.....love the young page mcconnell smile! YEM baby

  • divinity in music~ bless em

  • (I think) the amp that trey is using is something Paul built for him,

  • at this time?

  • wrong.

  • what kind of amp is trey using

  • Sick!!

  • "boy man!" I was gonna say "God, Shit"

  • its really cool to see how much this song has evolved, and which parts stayed the same

  • bitchin...

heres a social comment for ya, some of the words that we choose for slang are really interesting. such as, "bitchin"

  • the buildup is sooo loose lol.. it's cool to see them 21 years younger

  • dirty hippies hahah

  • hey these guys are pretty good... i think they'll make it in the music biz someday...

hey TRISTANLOMAX.. dude, you're an idiot...

  • tristan, just waned to remind you how stupid you look for posting that comment

  • incerdible song, and it just grew better and better over time...truly incredible

  • Aww! Mike doesn't play those little riffs between 2:00 and 2:10 between the two chords like the recording... YEM is amazing, and they're truly incredible here.

  • Yo its not the same with out The cactus jaming

  • How can someone write a song like YEM when they're 18 YEARS OLD??? Insane.

  • when they know music...

  • @Cheeko1111 They aren't 18 in this

    they are all around 23-24

  • @Hagelmiester5673 does it matter? should a 23 year old be able to write songs like YEM, the Divided Sky, and Antelope? thats quite rare....and furthermore, they played a number of these complex numbers since the VERY beginning. i mean, i have a 1984 Skippy The Wondermouse, and thats pretty epic.

  • @Cheeko1111 Trey was born in 1964, this was 1987, so he was 23.

  • @MjXllcommando He wrote it before this was filmed I assume...

  • its good to see old school phish. almost too hard to believe this was 2 months after I was born.

  • good ol phish

  • i love really old phish

  • check out my piano arrangement of YEM!

  • No!

  • Oh man I wish I was there.

  • my god, look at all that hair on Page! haha, wow you gotta love this song, what classic phish

Incomplete (?). *With members of the Joneses and Mental Floss on sax and guitar.

  • haha trey looks fuckin sweet, its a very inspiring video to say the least, oo to what became of you enjoy myself.

  • my gawd I really think that Phish is the best band on the earth. Phish are great sober but when your soaring in the sky like me right now it all just comes together and you can't help yourself to just start floating ya know? Damn this music just comes together. Soaring in the sky and listening to Phish is love :D

  • you definitley don't like phish you tool

  • Ericogrande3 I know what you mean. trancendance only comes close!!!Human language cant compare to the glory of Phish, especially on........substances.

  • Fishman is extremely fucked up in this video

  • Sweett

Hey does anyone know where "The Ranch" In Shelburne, VT actually is? Or is it someones house?

  • This reminds me of how much respect Phish needs to have, just based on what they attempt musically. They don't always play their compositions perfectly, but most groups don't go near the difficulty level that Phish goes to.

  • agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow...wow...holy shit...i love phish

  • ahahhaa

  • haha, the classic trey look, gotta love it

  • you ARE the fucking man. ive seen the wilson and antelope but not all these other ones.. i thank you very much! rock!
