nice work bro good solid recording. i just bought the akg c 3000b. question what pre amp and recording setup did u use beside the mic? wondering about pre amps and stuff!!
hey mate love this vid. just curious, im looking at buying this exact same guitar, but some people say that the 808L model is just a crappier version of the 808. i wasnt sure if that was the case, and after hearing this vid im convinced its not, but im just wondering how u set up the mic. like is it just out of sight, or is it mounted inside the guitar??? thanks anyways
The mike is outta site. The 808L is the same as the 808 just differenr timber. This has walnut back and sides and a cedar front and an AP5 pickup same as 808. Superb guitar. The`808 has mahogany back and sides with a spruce front. Apart from the obvious tone atributtes of both types of timber I cant see any big difference. Perhaps there is on the top end model but i havent played it yet.
wow thats an awesome tone...i might get the ac3000 now :P
how did you get it to sound so bright??? the ebg808l i played is ok, but didnt sound anywhere that bright in tone... or maybe its my playing... did u alter the sound at alll or did u just pump up the gain??
The guitar is alos plugged in to a AER domino amp . It is just turned on and no more ,just for a little reverb. All eq is set flat on amp, mike and guitar. Guiatr is fitted wot elixer 12 - 52s strings which i find work really well .
@Muzishan2 Did you end up buying this guitar? The L stands for the laminated back and sides, which is Queensland Walnut. I played a friend's m325 and was suprised at how sweet it sounded. I don't think there are any guitars made with solid Queensland Walnut, and I don't think Maton make any cedar tops with solid back and sides, which is a pity. Out of all the Maton guitars, this one takes my fancy the most, because iit is cedar and doesn't sound exactly like TE.
i love your style, i'm trying to describe it but the only word that comes to mind is 'foreboding'... and that's foreboding the most positive sense of the word! kind of daunting, warning of something... like the sound of a storm brewing or a hurricane approaching. well, whatever - great version of a song that i previously loathed! :)
Great job on this classic, Peter. Really enjoyed watching it. I've got a fistful of stars here, so I'll just leave 5 of them here with this video. ;) Good job.
I use a AKG C3000 mike plugged into the AER amp so I dont have to plug the guitar in. its a more natural sound but it picks up everything, lucky this day the dogs didnt bark !
hey man. that sounds incredible!!!! im debating on buying either a taylor 410ce or something, or a maton 12 string. its a tough decision. if i can afford to got a left handed maton shipped over to Alabama, i think i may do that instead of the taylor. lolol
Sounds awesome, well done 5 stars!! How did you manage to get a Maton all the way over in Ireland??? Maton's are the best guitars in the world in my opinion!!
Got the Maton from Guitar village in London. they keep a good stock and are very good to deal with.Your right Matons are the best guitars in the world and at a price thats well below any serious competition.
I paid approximately £800 + postage which was about £30 .This also came with a good fitted case. Well worth the money when you play it side by side with the competition.
Really??? That's so awesome!! It's especially cool because to me, your version of this is very unique. I would have never known it was inspired by my version. How very cool. Thanks!!
WOW! That's an outstanding and unique version of a classic tune. Wonderful playing and sound, Peter. Glad you post again and I'm looking forward to more of your great work.
Thanks for your comments and yes It is my own arrangement.Time to get some tunes up after a summer of electric playin. Lookin forward to puttin up some new tunes.
