Interesting.

They sound better when they let the ideas sink in for a bit before changing to the next one, IMO. I like that they try to be unique [even when the basic concepts after this -mix of all kinds of genres, time sig changes, using LOTS of instruments- have been done before] and that this is very technical, but it's frustrating when they have something good going on and then they just abruptly ditch it to do a genre switch for the fucking sake of it.

@Obituar18 of course ;), however I consider them to be more of the "Progressive" genre since their songs have a lot more conventional structure and traditional jazz improvisation. Part the Second should prove it, some songs sound REALLY pink floydish. Avant-Garde always struck me as dissonant/horror-themed music due to the lack of discernible key signatures. I love the hell out of motW though.
