It is too bad that all of the P&G/NY dramas had to"go Hollywood" and copy he ridiculous and nonsensical plotlines of the Y&R and the B&B. I stopped watching Y&R years ago and eventually gave up on all of them. I am a fan of the "EastEnders' from BBC. The problem though is that they show only one hour per week on a local PBS channel, but it is a much better show than the teeny bopper/bubble gum nonsense now on ATWT & GL. I am glad that Nanch Hughes/Helen Wagner made it to the 50th anniversary.
I agree, EastEnders in the UK is about the real lives of the residents of Albert Square and their everyday challenges, this was what ATWT used to be about in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Luckily it's on 4 days a week (30 minutes) in the UK. EastEnders was based upon the idea of family, the strong matriarch (Pauline -Nancy), the villain (Den Watts - John Dixon) family was also what ATWT used to be about it's the same with our long running soap Coronation Street (1960-).ATWT should go back to it's roots
I know what you mean. I am a Canadian and I've been watching Coronation St. faithfully for the past three years and now I get to watch Eastenders but I'm two years behind in 2006. I think that someone from the US should go to the UK and see how it's done and see what a "difference" Soaps are across the ocean.
The clip in which Bob tells Lisa that they have to start looking for house Lisa is pregnant with there second child, but miscarries. Lisa was quite the schemer in the day. She is mild compared to tactics of one that Carly Snyder. Have to love that, Lisa!!
