As far as improvising, I think it's a combination of different sources; she's used "Why don't you get out of here and bring me some money , too" which was from a song written in 1929 called "The Weed Smoker's Dream", but later changed to "Why Don't You Do Right"(Jessica Rabbit covered it in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit").

Another line was "I gave you a wristwatch and you wouldn't give me the time of day" -not sure about origin. Let's face it, no matter what she says, it always sounds sexy, but the line from "Why'd You Do It? just sizzles with that thick Scottish brogue.

Spacemutt,(possibly the coolest name, ever), I'm so glad to know where that sort of "silly" line was from (well, silly compared to "I see her cunt in my bed"! Everytime I heard it, I'd think to myself, "O.K., you gave him a fucking wristwatch, get over it...or steal it back or something...seems kind of petty."

But it has a poetic/ironic feel, which is more Patti Smith"s style...I think. I'll have to listen to "Revenge" again and hear her delivery.
