  • Mormons are taught to give their TESTIMONY it goes something like this: I HAVE A BURNING IN MY BOSSOM. This is a PAT ANSWER something they are taught to say in a response that is a way they can defend their beliefs and is suspose to make everything valid no matter what. When I have a Burning in my Bossom I take ROLAIDS and it GOES AWAY! THE BIBLE is the answer; the Book of Mormon is FALSE. When you modify/change the Word of God to suit YOUR BELIEF STRUCTURE YOU ARE A CULT! There not Christians

  • What's going to separate Christians from mormons is biblical stricture and doctrine. If mormons believe they are true Christians, then they would be on the same page as Christians and share the same doctrine and not preach a different Jeuss. It would be necessary for them to give up those other books (i.e., BOM) and focus on the Holy Bible only. Otherwise, the battle will never end. I do hope that more mormons search the truth and understand their church history more and come to our side.

  • @jlc19702 your church is made of many churches, many leaders, you do not contend with each other because you know that each other support false teachers and instructors, you feed yourselves taking away from widows and orphans, you have hired shepherds and compete with each other for the sheep, I can go to one of your buildings and hear a same topic with a different content. The scriptures say One lord, one baptism one faith. Same as saying one Doctrine, one gospel one savior.

  • @alfredomoreno30 But I'm not mormon. How do you explain RLSD, FLSD, community of christ or whatever, why are there separations in the mormon church? And I really don't see my church taking away money from widows and orphans...lol. that is a new one to me. Listen to Shawn McCraney's video's a little more. God bless.

  • @jlc19702 RLSD church does not exist anymore, they denounced the Book of Mormon and joined with The Church of Christ, FLDS are not members of The Church of jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints but started there own religion.

You must be speaking of tithing its taught in Malichi and goes for widows and orphans as well. Aftertthey live this law the church helps them too.

    Your statements mostly seem basless.

  • I left the LSD church to become a moron.

  • Left one myth, LD$, for another?

Ask any Mormon, "Why should there be a prophet?"

  • @robertgift Why was Moses a prophet? Why would the Aposles be called prophets? Thats why.

  • Yo creo en la iglesia de jesucristo De LOS SUD y tengo el testimonio y se que es verdad y lo e vivido y tu mi amigo estas mal

    grettings from mexico

  • Maybe it was a good thing that you left??????

  • If everyone was a good christian , the world would be a paradise! Mormons are good christians, they actually follow what they beleive.

  • If everyone was a good christian , the world would be a paradise!

  • ... but he can never leave the church alone.

  • obama left his church after 20 years just so he could be elected. he went from not being a muslim to not being a christian to being the worst president of all time.

  • I'M LDS! I AGREE W/GREENEYESANGEL69! WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES! NO MATTER IF WE ARE LDS, CATHOLICS, OR JEWISH!

  • fucking idiots

  • @Cheshu1 How does your comment have anything to do with Joseph Smith besides the last part? He never said that...

  • Mormons don't trust the Bible as they claim it hasn't been translated correctly... with the BOM having undergone nearly 3900 changes since it's invention, one can say also that it hasn't been translated correctly. When you open the BOM, which part can you trust?

Smith used his seer stone in a hat to ensure integrity of the translation of plates. Using IF and ONY IF, the translation of each symbol was true without exception, one symbol after the next until done. Why the changes to the BOM?

  • @54v115 So did you pull the number 3900 out of your ass or something? Ever since the translation The Book of Mormon it has always remained the same.

And you say we claim to not believe in the Bible. We believe the Bible to be the true word of God and also in the Book of Mormon. We use the Bible along with the Book of Mormon on a weekly basis.

  • @bradenprice1 oh.. words from another bad and ill informed mormon.. LDS Apostle Russel M Nelson stated the BOM was not a novel, and it was not a historical book... what does that make it? You use the Bible?..lol.. insofar as it's been correctly ... WHAT?... don't make me laugh... when you open the Bible.. which parts do you trust? Your own Church displays AMENDED versions of the BOM... ALWAYS REMAINED THE SAME? .. Don't bet your life on it!

  • @bradenprice1 read a fucking book. other than the BOM. WOW! fucking wow.

  • @paulmbraden

    What book should he read?

  • @54v115 List each and every one of the 3900 changes made to the BOM since you claim to know that the BOM has been changed. Oh, what's that?? You don't know the changes because you are only regurgitating information that you have heard? Go ahead and make your list please. Meanwhile, I'll comb through my 30 different bibles trying to figure out why each one says something different. Lets meet back soon.

  • @clearpathtofollw - lol... try reading and making your own discoveries...lol or is really the most perfect book? So many changes ... what ever happened to the If and only if rule of translation?.. why the changes.. why did Nephi's visitation turn into Moroni's? You people... thick as shit! lol..lol...too lazy to compare an early version of the book with your current version. oh thats right.. various language versions of the Bible must mean it's content must be different...lol..lol

  • @54v115 Hey, I'm not doubting that the BOM has been changed. I'm asking you to list each and every one of the 3900 changes that you claim have been made. So please, go ahead and list the changes. I'm waiting.....

  • If you study those changes you will find that most of them were spelling corrections.

It's funny how you say that mormons don't trust the Bible when we use it as we use the BoM and believe in it like we do in the BoM. It is true that some parts of the Bible have been mistranslated, but we rely on the teachings of modern prophets and on the Holy Ghost to help us understand what is there that we should learn

  • If you believe in the Bible, you must admit that a lot of the stories there are wierded than that of the translation of the BoM. Also, that hat and that stone you refered to so mockingly is mentioned in the Bible several times (See Ex. 28:30, Lev 8:8; Num 27:21; Deut 33:8; 1 Sam 28:6; Ezra 2:63; Neh 7:65).

This wont convince you unless you ask God in prayer if the BoM is true.See James 1:5 and 1Cor 3:1-5. I have asked I have been answered. I KNOW THE BOM IS TRUE BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST.

  • @54v115 Your infromation is not true nor is it correct. LDS people do trust the Bible. It has errors. In fact which Bible do you prefer, The Tyndale Bible, The King James bible?, The Luther Bible, New American Standard?,New Life Version? The Darby Version? Arabic Bible all having changed from one another. The book of Mormon does not exist because of the Bible. Nor werethere any doctrinal changes other than printer , grammer or editorial changes.

  • I see mormons like the pharisees when Jesus walked the Earth. They both think they are good, they both are religious, and they both have a love for money. What gets me is Jesus called them hypocrites but the mormons believe they are the true church lol. Dont take my word for it read Matthew 23 and see for yourself and then do a comparison. I see it every day here in Utah. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen

  • @greeneyesangel69 I am a mermber of the LDS church and I know for a fact that mormons do not have an obsession for money. Families who live in poverty attend church every sunday. The income of a family should not be the deciding factor. Just because a rich family happens to be mormon makes them hypocrites? Doesn't really make sense.

  • @greeneyesangel69 You should read Mat 7:1,2 so called christian.

  • The one talking its just an complete Idiot, he said himself he never care for the church, so why he was there for 19 years. What an Idiot.

  • @alienhunter2050 - have you ever been married? .. you do the daftest things for other people and particularly your wife, your family, if that's idiocy.. in a black and white clear cut world.. I'd have to agree.

  • @alienhunter2050 - and some people stay married for decades (for all the wrong reasons) too... is that extremely foolish and senseless behaviour too? Or do people actually TRY to build something of their lives for themselves and for those they love? How many people stay in the wrong jobs for years?.. I'm sure you get the point!

  • "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast." -- Ephesians 2:8-9

  • A "bad mormon" is a bad person. Plain and simple. Makes no difference whether you are mormon or catholic or jewish. The morals and standards that the LDS church teaches are good and if you are not living those then you are not a good person. You are a sinful person and you will be such in any other church you join as well.

  • @tecnolover2642 when the person says that he went from a bad mormon to a good christian he means that he didnt believe in ur mormon prophets like Joseph smith... he meant that he believed as Jesus as the one and only savior.. it had nothing to do with being a bad person full of sin.. He just didnt believe in your prophets, and he only believed in the bible not the book of mormons thats all he meant

  • @tecnolover2642 - what does being a bad person mean? It's interesting.. I'm a good person, i do no harm to people as best i can usually. I don't drink and i don't smoke. I don't gamble and don't womanise.. i'm not LDS nor do I attend any church. i live to the laws of the land and have no criminal convictions or cases brought against me. I owe no person or organisation money. I try to help people (strangers too) where i can. I'm a sinner but I try not to, it still happens though. I live cleanly.

  • @tecnolover2642 I do believe in Jesus Christ as my Saviour and I believe in His teachings and the Holy Bible Canon. I can't see the premise 'a bad mormon makes for a bad person' as valid. While I don't believe the mormon doctrine, and I'm amazed that anyone can take it seriously, it seems buzz phrazes to be the new gospel.

  • How can you drop from Mormonism to Christianity, to me Mormonism is just updated Christianity that covers the ass of all the stupid unexplainable shit in the bible while adding their own twists and own ways to make it physiologically pleasing and profitable.

  • @DieOrBlink I would like to point out that speaking of God and cussing in the same lines shows serious problems with your heart no matter what you believe.

  • @RedSun875 Your right the fact that I cuss and speak of God in the same line obviously means I have cardiovascular problems. Unless by heart you mean a soul or something of the sort in which case your not worth my time.

  • @DieOrBlink Your not the first I have ever met to respond this way. If you do not believe in the existence of God my time as well is not for you. Take care.

  • @DieOrBlink I hope you find God in your life..

  • You'll find more truths in cookery books... and put that into practice and you'll actually come out with something. Verily I say unto you, place the turkey in the oven at 220 degrees for the first forty minutes and reduce heat there after to 180 degrees. Cooking for 20 minutes per pound of uncooked flesh, else it might char. Thus sayeth the Lord.

  • OK.. you want the truth.. I don't believe a word of it, nor do I believe in Higher Beings. I do consider the Bible is a compilation of Books with 'Truths' in them. The same can be said of ALL religious doctrine across the world, probably.

So there you have it. You will find 'truths' in most things you read or hear. It depends on the authors perspective and the readers 'managed expectation'. It also depends on how it's said. Test it out - pick up any book and you'll find a 'truth'.

  • He doesn't hate Mormons that's like saying you don't like christans because you believe it's the only true church he has the same rights you do

  • i think they both drugies!!!...LOL

  • u look like a drugie... lol no wonder yu left...

  • @TazBangin my daughter's seminary teacher didn't look like an adulturous wretch, but he was! Was he removed from being a seminary teacher nope(continued trust with young peoples mind's) Why because he was well dressed and of course everyone knows people who dress well, morale's are better. Just ask them, they will gladley sing thier own praise's. Mark 7:6-9

  • yu know wat yu too are talkin, god loves yu...yu too are in da darkness of hell....

  • Legit question- What leads this guy to hate the LDS church so much, and that church only? Someone explain this to me, since as it stands this guy seems to just have an irrational hate of a church for no obvious reason.

  • @bobmuffin Unless you have experienced the mormon church first-hand, you can never understand the bitterness that they can engender in people. The facade that they show to the world is not the real face of mormonism. Their true visage is revealed to people who appose them.

  • @RetCrayon I'm an ex-mormon myself. Was one for the first 16 years of my life. I don't get why this guy's so angry with them, though.

  • @bobmuffins Then you are one of the lucky ones who have not been exposed to the true face of mormonsim. Every person whom i know that left the church has had a very bad experience with these so-called saints. There are few things more vicious than mormons after you have opposed their religion. They fight dirty :)

  • @bobmuffins Shawn sees Joseph Smith doctrine as poison to Christian doctrine which is The Bible. They really are different. While the Bible isn't errant, it is infallible in it's message of who God is, if you believe. I get his point and I like the way he works. It's challenging, as I don't have his knowledge or surety of subject. It's not Shawn has anger with people with knowledge and understanding of their religion, you see impatience with uninformed people with ill considered stand points.

  • @54v115 >bible isn't errant >isn infalliable

    You're joking, right?

  • @bobmuffins yup.. ya got me..lol

  • @bobmuffins

    Because Satan is working hard...

  • @johnawesley1 >implying satan is real

  • @bobmuffins

of course Satan is real and so is God.

It's OK, it will all be worked out in the hear after and we shall all know the truth then for a fact as we will no longer need faith.

  • @johnawesley1 Sure. The god of a book with 439 contradictions in under 2000 pages is real. I'd think a "perfect god" would be better than a contradiction every 4 pages. I'd trust a random internet forum faster than I'd trust the bible.

  • Who says he is a good Christian? By his own standards and by human beings he is a good Christian?

  • if someone stabbed my mother i would hold the knife until i got the chance to use it for revenge

  • 19 years?! What took you so long to leave?!

  • that weight was the holy ghost hahaha... now good luck living without it ;)

  • @TheNaxo1989 you are so ignorant and single minded,

  • @Ingle92protege it only disproves the god people claim wrote/inspired the bible becaues he makes false claims. it doesnt disprove *every* imagineable god or creator.

  • @Ingle92protege one only needs to scientifically disprove scientific claims made by the old testament. that's how you disprove YHWH/Allah ("God" of the jewish, christian, islamic traditions)

  • what are you talking about... How do you feel different.... David have you read both books.....

  • Let's just leave it at the fact that no one knows if there is a god and anyone who says they do know probably wants your money.

  • @Ingle92protege You said you believe the Bible to be the word of Christ. Well that also means you believe in all the things the Bible teaches, correct?

  • @ghosts1987 Glad to see you agreed with us . Whatever reason you left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints . Just read the Book of Mormon Another Testiment of Jesus Christ and sooner or later you'll get the strength to come back . We will welcome you in .

  • @Ingle92protege That doesn't save us though in the end ?Do you live the Standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ?

  • @Ingle92protege Try answering the question so we know about you . Do you live the Standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ?

  • @Ingle92protege We don't think our works save us but you must keep the commandments and that is how you show the Lord you love him . Do you live the Standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ?

  • @ghosts1987 Do you live the Standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ?Cults don't have their own football teams . :)

  • @mormonboy08 BYU isn't a religion... That being said, they suck right now.

Also, there is no god. No, I don't live the standard of the CoJCoLDS. I'm a chronic masturbater ; )

  • @fickle09 Shame on you.

  • @fickle09 yeah for masturbation, a great misconception/lie in the jewish, christian world!

  • @Ingle92protege Do you live the Standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ?

  • your a bigot grow up you idiot

  • haha your a sad sad little man

  • That's stupid. That guy made a huge mistake to not attend church and let the holy ghost in.

  • @Ingle92protege show them the way

  • @Ingle92protege show them !

  • @Ingle92protege well i thinks its ok to let your family know what you think is the truth

are your family good people who help the poor and serve to be good people ? let them be !

  • @Ingle92protege i point is we all sin in the eyes of god ! so if you think mormons are wrong just stay away from them , mormons dont put a gun to your head to join there club, so dont you put a gun to there head to join your club !

  • @Ingle92protege no telling the truth is fine , but it also is telling the truth about you ,

  • I'm often puzzled by why Christians are so hostile to Mormonism. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! The bible has no more basis in fact than Joseph Smith's tall tales and yet Christians jump at the chance to point out Mormonism's logical inconsistencies as though Christianity had none of its own.

Don't get me wrong - Joseph Smith Jr. was a fraud and a liar principally concerned with consolidating power over his ignorant followers, but such is always the aim of religious demagogues.

  • @Dustiniusprimus I totally agree.

  • @Ingle92protege so love is blind ? open your eyes ! so the bible says to juge man and put him on jugment and be cold to him ? so common

  • @Ingle92protegeLuke 10:25 And behold a certain lawyer stood up, tempting him and saying, Master, what must I do to possess eternal life? 26 But he said to him: What is written in the law? How do you read it? 27 He answering, said: You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with all your strength and with all your mind: and your neighbour as yourself. 28 And he said to him: You have answered right. This do: and you shall live

  • @Ingle92protege well i did read the book of mormon , and i dont belive it , but im not going to bash a mormon because he belives ! i think we should only do what god demands us to do ! help the poor and love our fellow man

  • @Ingle92protege mybe you should look up some history on bible ( the books )

and find out what the Christian faith is all about !

  • @Ingle92protege haha thats funny ! no think about this asshole , mybe your wrong

by calling your self a Christian ! tell me how your Christian like !

  • @Ingle92protege if mormons are wrong then so be it ! but if we are going to call our self christian then i think we should ask how are we un christian like !

  • @Ingle92protege well hold on ! now im catholic and i dont see how mormons are wrong , mybe you are a fucked up mormom so just feed the poor and help the needing ! ok fuck face ? thats your only fucking job on this earth mother fucker ! is to help the needing !!!

  • well mormons are god fearing people , so why join them then put them on trail ?

mormons dont force you to join , you join for the wrong ideas in your head !

  • I am so thankful I left the LDS church and found Christianity.

  • @jeanniemarie76 what are you some kind of born again cock sucker ?

  • @jeanniemarie76 I am so greatful I left the lds church and found science and atheism now I don't base my faith on someone elses spiritual experience but my own happy factual existence with out the need of blind faith.

  • @jeanniemarie76 Do you live the Standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ?

  • @mormonboy08 I absolutely live the standards of the Bible. Which are completely unlike those of the LDS church.

  • @jeanniemarie76 A simple yes or no will do . Do you live the Standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ?

  • We don't believe that works alone will save a person. You're right that only through Christ we can be saved, of course we know that, of course we believe that. But we believe that we must prove our faith by our works. Remember that faith without works is dead. We are saved by Grace after all that we can do. So for those who believe that only faith through Grace will save you are being mislead by Satan. It's like going to gym and sitting on your butt expecting you will lose weight. Youhave towork

  • @crxracer805 well your right ! im a catholic but i will say this , help the poor and others , god bless lil buddy !

  • @crxracer805 Very good point . And I think they don't realize that asking him to be their Savior is a work otherwise it would cover everyone . we both believe you have to do something to qualify for the gift .

  • I feel sorry for all of you who fight against the Church of Jesus Christ. Anyone who rejects the Church, or leave the Church, will never have true happiness in this life or in the life to come. In the next life, you all are going to have a rude awakening

  • @crxracer805 what ? im catholic the only true church you fucking poser ! now mormons ant shit ! im telling you no lies , you are so full shit its sad , ok buddy !

ive know many mormons and half of you dont get the hole god thing , just shut the fuck up from now on ok !

  • @crxracer805 How true . Think they have a rude awakening now . I noticed you correctly didn't say they no longer believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be true cause we know they still know it is true.

  • ok for the person who told me that no faith and weak are different um it dose not matter weak faith and no faith YOUR FAITH IS NOT THERE!!!

  • @WILLRYANSAUCE faith ? ha ! have you seen what islam will do to people with no fatith ?

  • @shutupstupid9 Christianity and Islam are not the same faith it's different. You seem to be an internet terrorist hiding behind your little computer screen using language you wouldn't use face to face with your victims. If you ever send me another vulgar message again it will be the last message you send for a while! Get my drift

  • THIS IS A CHALLENGE TO YOUTUBE WATCHERS. Produce a complete mormon endowment video with commentary after the fact. The endowment is recorded in many places.

  • @ChildePC dont worry about this bull shit ! mormons are ok

  • bad mormon-good christian? it,s 2010, and still we have this crap going on. smart apes we are not,,,,, well the 5 billion that believe in a god aren,t.

  • @userwl2850 yea its sad !

  • i dont know where people get off talking about the mormon faith. its to bad that guy had weak faith.

  • @WILLRYANSAUCE Shawn had an experience with the real Jesus. Shawn left a dead religion and Began his new life in true FAITH which can only be found in the death and resurrection of the true Jesus. A church cannot save you, religious works cannot save you, Joseph Smith, cannot save you. Shawn has been truly set free from bondage. Maybe you should give it a look for yourself, freedom from rules and regulations is great!!!!

  • @leesec1 who is the real jesus ? thats what i thought so shut the fuck up bitch !

  • @WILLRYANSAUCE He didn't have a weak faith. He had no faith you big dummy. Open your ears and listen.

  • @WILLRYANSAUCE hey if you faith is strong then god bless you ! just help the needing ,

  • I leave on March 24, 2010 for my LDS mission to Geneva, Switzerland. And i know there are people out there that are waiting to hear my message and come unto the gospel. I was born a Mormon and will die a mormon. And you should be ashamed of yourself for telling people to basically leave the church its there decision not yours if they choose not to believe then fine its not there time yet. On my mission ill be sharing a message not shoving it down there throats they can choose to hear it or not

  • amen amen!

  • Comment removed

  • What the CRAP is this crazy MOFO talking about.lol

Hey man!!! God doesn't want you to bash on other religions, he wants you to teach his word and Christ's word.

  • @sickofpervs mormons suck

  • I don't think anyone should be bashing other religions than their's. Mormons, or whatever, if anyone's dissing another religion, like insulting it and being bitchy about everything, they're the real idiots.

People should respect other people, not what I see happening all too often.

  • Bad Mormon is unnecessarily Redundant. And good Mormon is an OxymorMon.

  • Then why are there Temple Recommends? And worthiness interviews? And bishops pulling young men aside and asking them how many times they masturbated that week?

Sweetheart- the LDS church is ALL ABOUT judging. Girls won't date anyone but an RM, checking your friend's cart at the supermarket to look for coffee, doing the garmie feel-up... I don't know who you think you're kidding, but LDS is one of the most judgmental groups I have ever encountered.

  • @JAMaddict Are you joking??? Bishop asking young men about their masturbation? Garbage. Mormons are allowed to buy coffee for the house guests. So, if the bishop or prophet saw a jar of coffee in my house, they wouldn't immediately think im a cofffee drinker. I guess you haven't been a mormon since your statement is silly.

  • @JAMaddict judgmental group? you would be surprised. No wonder they tolerate you.

  • What does "garmie feel-up" mean? Thanks

  • LOL. Hugging someone and rubbing their back/arm trying to feel for garment lines to see if they are endowed and/or keeping their covenants.

  • I'm sorry lightsaber1231.

  • If you don't believe in Mormonism, then why? I mean I bet you felt some weight lifted off your shoulders. We try to invite our members to church and activities, but Its your decision on going. We'll try to be inviting to you, but if you dont want to mormon, dont be mormon. We all have free agency.

  • joseph smith false prophet. Believe Bible Jesus.

  • hey man....there not called mormons.people gave us that name...were called latter day saints.and before you want to speak some blaphsemy, which it says not to in the holy bible...the book of mormon is just more stories about jesus christ...how bout you take a look at the book of mormon...but thanks for dissing man...gods watching

  • Talking about the cross: Mormons don't wear a cross anywhere because we want to worship Christ, not the cross. For us it is the atonement of Christ that is important, His work, His teachings and His life, not just the cross.

  • I love Jesus Christ and I am so thankful for his atonement in Gethsemane and at the cross. I love Jesus Christ, but I dont love the cross.

"Wherefore, it must needs be an infinite atonement—save it should be an infinite atonement this corruption could not put on incorruption. Wherefore, the first judgment which came upon man must needs have remained to an endless duration. And if so, this flesh must have laid down to rot and to crumble to its mother earth, to rise no more." 2.Nephi 9, B.o.M.

  • @mormontube thats ok buddy ! if you belive it in full truth then fuck what other people think !

  • Mormons don't understand the power or the beauty of the cross. 1 Cor 1:18

  • In response to that scripture, Mormons do preach of the cross, but rather than worshiping it, we worship Him who hung on it.

  • Mormons would rather have satanic and masonic symbols on their temples rather than the cross. They don't get why it's so important.

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross." Col 2:14

  • There are no such symbols on our temples, and if you believe that Mormons don't think that what Jesus did for us on the cross is important, just watch this movie of one of the leaders of our church: An Apostle's Easter Thoughts on Christ.

  • Like every other counterfeit religion, Mormons reduce Jesus. According to the LDS church, Jesus' death and resurrection allows for universal salvation (resurrection), then everyone is judged according to how "good" they are keeping LAWS and ordinances of the LDS church.

To a Christian, however, Jesus' payment on the cross was enough to forgive ALL sins and give eternal life to anyone who accepts the FREE gift! We all deserve punishment. No one is good enough to work for a place in heaven.

  • Once a person has repented of all his sins, and done his best to be a righteous person, only then will that person by saved by the grace and mercy of God. You need faith, mercy, and works in order to obtain a place of glory in Heaven. Read James 2:13-26

  • James is speaking to new Christians. They are already saved. Context is everything. James puts emphasis on the fact that genuine faith in Christ produces good works. Christians are a new creation in Christ.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. Eph 2:8-9

Question for Mormons: If grace only applies after all you can do, how do you know when you have done enough?

  • The verse you listed here is true, we can never save ourselves by our works, but no unclean thing can ever enter into heaven and therefore His grace will only make up for the mistakes we have repented of.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Eccl. 12:14

Now if the above verse is also true, then how is it possible that our works don't matter? EVERY work will be judged. Salvation will come after repentance from every sin.

  • We will all be judged by our works. But, the believer is REWARDED, not punished! The UNbeliever is the one who will be punished when judged.

It is not possible to repent of EVERY sin. Repentence means we don't WANT to sin. Did you love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength today? If not, it's sin. Did you do every single command Jesus says in the Bible? If not, sin. Have you repented of every time you got angry or told a white lie or wanted something that isn't yours? See Gal 2:21

  • Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matt. 7:21

Repentance is the desire to sin no more and the stopping of the sin. You do not need to repent of each sin individually, but whenever you feel the need say a prayer of repentance for all your sins. Repentance is not a one time act, it is something we must do continually throughout our lives. We must do our best to follow the Lord's will.

  • Isn't the Mormon teaching that most people will enter some level of heaven a contradiction to Matt 7:21 and Matt 7:13-14?

Also, if you must do your best to follow the Lord's will, wouldn't it be wise to trust God's warnings of those who bring another gospel, to test the prophets according to the Bible, and believe what the Bible says about God and not follow a religion such as Mormonism that says something very different about who God is compared to the Bible?

  • There is no contradiction here because there will not be many who enter into the highest level of heaven.

God to us is the same as God is in the Bible. And yes, that would be wise to follow those warnings, but how does the Bible say how to tell if they are truly His deciples? Matt. 7:20 says Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (Read Matt. 7:15-20) The leaders of our church have been doing works of good, not evil. Their fruits are good.

  • In my Bible it teaches that if you're living eternally in a place without Jesus, it's hell, so that would mean the Telestial and Terrestrial levels of the LDS idea of heaven are actually hell. BTW, LDS made up the word Telestial to fit their doctrine. It's not in the Bible.

Terrestrial in the Bible is in reference to the earth or our earthly bodies. Celestial in the Bible is in reference to one heaven or our heavenly bodies after they are resurrected.

  • In 1 Cor. 15:40, it only mentions terrestrial and celestial. We believe that the inclusion of telestial here was one of the few things missing from the Bible, but look at the next verse. It compares the glories to three things, not two.

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. (1 Cor. 15:41)

  • Again, Telestial was made up by LDS. Terrestrial refers to earthly and Celestial means heavenly. It's in the dictionary.

God's word (the bible) isn't missing plain and precious parts as Joseph Smith said. That's the spirit of anti-Christ.

1 Cor 15:41 is referring to rewards in heaven for the saved. Some Christians will shine brighter than others in heaven because of what they did here on earth. Daniel 12:3

  • There is something worse than the earthly level which you forgot to mention. It's logical that the Bible would be missing a few parts. Think about it: the Bible has been translated and re-translated thousands of times. Most or all of the original documents that the Bible was composed of have been lost. Things tend to get changed over a time period that's thousands of years long.

  • You sound like every other LDS repeating what you hear at church. It's funny listening to you because you say the exact sames things I used to hear when i was LDS and I was believing it, too. Not anymore though, praise Jesus!

The Bible matches original greek and hebrew manuscripts. It's been translated once with very careful consideration. It's God's Word after all.

  • It might match some of those documents, yes; but even those are most likely missing a few parts. Consider the book of Genesis; it goes all the way back to the very beginning, thousands of years ago. Do honestly think that anything translated by men could last that long without having a single word missing or changed?

  • Yes, I honestly believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21).

  • The men who translated the Bible were not ordained of God to do so. They may have been scholars, yes, but this does not mean they were free from error. Joseph Smith was visited of the Lord as well as by angels to prepare him for the translation of the Book of Mormon, so that there would not be errors.

  • The manuscripts are free of error. God is capable of preserving His Word. You're believing lies.

Joseph Smith may have been visited, but it wasn't God. "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." 1 Cor 11:14

If Mormonism is a restoration of original Christianity they would need to show that LDS doctrines were originally in the Bible but later deleted. But, there's no manuscript evidence of revisions of the NT that eliminated cardinal doctrines.

  • They are infallible in the Pope and the Church. If you look at all the contexts the protestants put on the scriptures to fit modern times instead of all times, you will notice just how fallible the people have made them, because they only believe in personal interpretation
