You guys changed the way I played guitar and thoughts on life! Had a friend Charles Lockey who played drums for a short time with the Mark. 1992 No band has ever come near you guys Aussie LEGENDS! Thankyou Pauly from Mos Burner
So many great heavy Adelaide bands from this time, most of them caring less about national exposure. Check out Harry Butler's DNA zine for more... details.
Not sure where/how/when I got told so, but I will lay money that it stands for Little Miss Authority... sick song... I remember being maybe 15 or 16, pushed up against the fence at the front of South's footy oval in Adelaide for something called 'Southern Summer Sounds'... can't remember who else even played... these guys blew me away... ah, memories :-)
@Ezinnes80 LMA = Little Miss Australia. Song about the lead singers ex-girlfriend who died of an overdose. She was named this by her parents when she was young. Sick song, yes.
Man they should get all these sick aussie bands a festival....early 90's was a great scene. Spiderbait.custard.superjesus.regurgitator.tumbleweed.def fx. who else ?
haha sounds exotic but really it is just the nickname of the girl as I knew her. you will have to ask john if you want to know as i respect the memory of her
LMA is an acronym for lareyngeal mask airway not (some thing put in mouth to support breathing after trauma to ribcage/ thorassic area punctured lung etc) not sure if the Scott brothers are using to describe the last time they saw this person alive or its some ones initails if you have to have one of them put on its looking grim!.
her name was stephanie man i was her partner of four years until we lost her the single most devestating thing to ever happen so much energy and potential it still hurts over 15 years later
This song is still amazing after all these years. Gets me every time. I saw them last in 2006 and they said they would keep touring because they are sick of shit music. So hope they play again when I get back home.
really tight snare head used those weird evans mylar heads done up as tight as hmanly possible and it was aaron hewson, they had a heap of drummers after this and before stanier
Mad! I love this song. S'pose to be about his ex-girlfriend on hammer if I remember right. They are touring releasing a new album this year apparently - woooo hoooo! TMOC!
Heard from music news a couple years ago that the Ill At Ease video-clip trilogy was short-listed for best short film at Cannes - any truth to this ?
Also, funny bit of trivia - in Australia the Retaliate clip was released the same week as the Madonna clip where she's running over people in a cab. The press whipped up a frenzy about the Madonna clip being "controversial" and "violent" but not a word about TMOC's clip!!!
Sometimes not being commercial has its commercial advantages!
when I read what LMA meant and what it was all about I was pretty moved by it all. never knew. One of the best songs off Ill at Ease. TMOC are a great band a really good guys. damn good videos too.

Should be the full version up here.I hate it when shit is cut out. This song is 5 mins + on the album

What a band! Such a unique style and sound. SA's finest.
Wish they'd do a comeback tour. I reckon they'd get decent crowds. All the rockers that loved this stuff from 1995 would come out of the woodwork.

You're dead right. Aaron Hewson was the man on the drums for alot of the time...and yes Stanier joined in 1998.
I'm sure Stanier only did one or two albums...one in 2000 definitely.
Great band - very progressive and LOUD live. Apparently they followed a pretty militaristic touring and practice schedule.
juzzi07 3 years ago
anyone care to comment on his style, im not a drummer so i dunno, but the way he plays the snare sounds fukn cool!
buzzpuppet 4 years ago
he must have really nice wooden hardware methinks, and the skin real tight to get that pop sound. But without doubt he has my favourite snare sound
Nigeman 3 years ago
awesome song, love the drummer off this record, his snare work is something else

yeah, she was little miss Australia as a child hence LMA. She died of an accidental drug overdose and I think he was the first to find her.
He finds it hard to talk about, which is completely fair owing to how amazingly tragic it is
