Sorry about the stripped audio - the Warner Music Group Nazis didn't like it that some little insignificant hobbyist video maker was using their music for background music. Ironically, this insignificant video maker happens to spend a lot of his money on audio CD's in bricks & mortar stores - in other words, with a collection of over 2,400 CD's, he is among the declining number of people supporting a declining industry. He won't stop buying CD's but he WILL think twice about Warner products!
Hi Tyler! Glad you visited the site. Sorry that the music has been taken off. I didn't think record companies were serious about going after home videos...
So you're a Leedy, eh? That side of my family goes back to West Virginia and Kentucky. My grandfather was a coal miner. I think there are also Leedys in Ohio that we are related to. Actually, I imagine ALL Leedys in the US are related somehow.
Nice to hear from you. Tell Grandpa & the cousins hello for me!
lol! not so secret ;) now it's gardening- needed somewhere to dump all that aquarium water lol! Was just looking through old pics and found some of your show at P.L.! Good memories :):):) m
Thank you for showing your lovely work. It must be nice to travel around the world and paint! Are there any places you haven't been to that you'd like to paint at?
wow, it's fantastic. the water of venice. the first painting of venice is awesome. how did you manage to do it so detailed!?? the water of the sixth painting is incredible.
That first painting is actually an acrylic on canvas done from a watercolor study I did on the spot. I worked from the painting and images I took with a digital camera....
Lovely work. I love watercolours too. I think my favourites are your Maine paintings - I loved the slightly industrial ones, where rust is suggested here and there. So lovely against blues and greys of buildings and sea.
kuhlayer: Yes, I also like the gritty ones too. You will probably like "Rockland Fishing Pier" - you can search for it on my blog site, robertleedy[DOT]com
Very nice work , we liked them all , would be cool to see your work in the real...I just went to see the Winslow Homer and Edward Hopper exhibit At the Art Institute in Chicago ...such beautiful work...it was so cool I'm going back in a month.
lakewebster: Glad you liked my paintings! The Art Institute is a terrific museum - I would give anything to see the show! When I lived in Paris, I was a member of the Museé d'Orsay and I could bypass the long lines and go straight in. I used to go in just to see specific paintings. I thought I was living a dream! It's wonderful to be surrounded by great art. Saturday, I was in Chattanooga & talked my way into a sneak preview of Charles Birchfield's watercolors. Thanks for stopping by! Robert
I m going to be brutally honest! you are not good in drawing, but you know exactly where to put the colour at the right place and that what painting is all about, good luck.
I adore the colors used in the shadows of the large tree in the foreground of the Mansion (00:56) ...also the pink/purples showing the wrought ironwork (01:01) ...and the Eifel Tower is just so perfectly soft (01:55).
John, Thanks for visiting my site. I watched your video with amazement - not only are you a terrific watercolorist but you're also a very talented musician. WOW! You have some creative bones, my friend! - Robert
Robert! Enjoyed your video greatly. Loved the humor and the variety of the work, and the obvious inspiration from your travels. Keep up the good work! John Stewart
Thanks npsoul! I used various artists throughout but you are probably referring to the artist I used in the intro and at the end. His name is Jehro and the song is "Everything". Great stuff! - Robert
eliseo530: Glad you liked it. The connection here is that my father is an architect. And my Kevin Bacon Three Degrees of Separation connection is that my father has an architect friend who is the father of Kevin Bacon. But I'm not an actor so, I guess that disqualifies me...
Thanks, dollydebs! Don't fall into the widely held belief that watercolor is a more difficult medium. Just remember that it is a totally different medium from oils or acrylics and the painting method is different. Study the behavior of watercolor and experiment with the various pigments and how they react with one another. A big jump start would be to seek out a watercolorist whose work you admire and take a workshop. You'll learn a lot!
Very impresive artwork and different from most watercolor painters, I like it very much !!!
