  • i would love to just bee a fly on the wall and watch wes anderson, noah baumbach and jim jarmusch shoot the shit

  • Jason forgot to talk about if kissing Natalie Portman between her legs was fun to do.

  • wes loves what he does, inspirational and motivating just how dedicated he is to his work. and i guess wes and jason are those types of people who leave their bottle lids off when there not drinking from them. i couldnt never do such a thing.

  • I am just happy that this video, seemingly consciously, framed out Roman so his massive massive just grotesquely massive unibrow didn't obscure the filmmakers and actors. Ew!

  • hahahaa :)

  • The Darjeeling Limited changed my life. I loved it so much!

  • me too! (:

  • you really think so? i think his style's just reserved. i think he's a fantastic actor.

  • @maxymyllyon I think he is a good actor, but also it's a Wes Anderson film, his characthers aren'treally supposed to be believeable, just enjoyable and meaningful, but not neccisarly beleiveable

  • wes anderson is my bitch

  • last year i watched the life aquatic and it changed my life. Wes anderson is now my favorite director.

  • maybe he/she meant it changed the way he/she thinks towards movies. you know, away from stupid action movies and all

  • @corndog112

    Watched it last night

Fucking idiots, they forgot their dog

    LMAO

  • i don't know whose hands those are next to wes', but they really made it hard for me to concentrate!

  • roman coppolla

  • Hi its Wes - I gain a lot of inspiration from films on youtube - take for instance my latest TV commercial featuring Brad Pitt - that was originally a youtube film entitled BRAD PIT IS DONKEY DICK - a saucey seaside caper - it not so much inspired me I JUST COPIED IT TOTALLY! Keep making those films you Guys!

  • where can you get the movie hotel chevalier??

  • buy the darjeeling limited, it's on there too.

  • yeah, special features of D.L

  • it's on YT

  • check out SOMETIMES the movie - teaser trailer

  • Wes Anderson rules. Check out the video we made as a tribute to Wes Anderson and his films, its in our video section! Help us break 1,000 views!

  • THE DARJEELING LIMITED is brilliant and so is HOTEL CHEVALIER.Wes Anderson is very sensitive and definitly has a great notion of visual balance and concept aesthetics. Both movies are deep in a sentimental-psychological level and have the most wonderful cinematography and art directing. Besides,Anderson has a great personal style in long beautiful sequences, and a very peculiar way to match the action and follow the actors. He uses cleverly the simbolic physical details to describe his characters.

  • wow, now i see there's real people out there, or in here (a computer indeed). that's what i call a point of view.

  • ;-) what you said.

    =)

  • i must say that im agree with you....besides that...its also good his way to make the film FULL of details...not just the plot...but the enviroment of it...the people doing other stuff, the colors...the connection with the world! i love it!

  • Jason Shwartzmen also stared in rushmore too

  • I am actually in the other boat. I have been rather disappointed with Wes Anderson's past movies, but absolutely loved this one. Disappointed may be the wrong word, where bored might be better. Although lately I am digging more dry, "woody allen" humor, and I can appreciate all the fantastic camera angles. And the fact that the characters were robo-tripping throughout the movie made me laugh.

  • I'm in that boat as well and I fully agree with your comment.

  • Armond White say this, "Wes Anderson hasnt changed, only your responses change."

  • Love(d) Wes Anderson, but I found "The Darjeeling Limited" rather disappointing - especially after the great short film "Hotel Chevalier". It would be so cool if someone could upload it!

  • I am rather disappointed in this comment. You couldn't possibly have ever loved Wes if you didn't enjoy "The Darjeeling Limited". Great film. I have the DVD along with his four other instant classics and the short "Hotel Chevalier" is on it.

  • I think it's completely possible to love a director's work, but be disappointed in a film they've made. If anything I think it's a little ignorant to expect everything they make to be great

  • I agree.

  • I'm glad you decided to call me ignorant for something that I didn't say. My comment was based on my opinion of the movie, not my opinion of Wes.

  • poor Wes doesn't really like public speaking. As anyone who isn't a total egomaniac...speaking about a piece of art you have made is embarrassing and difficult.

  • I adore him. a complete genius who also has such an awesome sense of style!

  • ahhh man..i miss the old poland spring bottles

  • me too, it's so funny you say that, i was just thinking about it :)

  • I think Wes Anderson is part of a little world of young genius in film making, paul thomas anderson, darren aronofsky, jonathan glazer, david fincher, michel gondry, they have a point of view, they dont give a fuck about box office, I hope they keep doing good stuff and don´t be tented and agree with the shit world of pop hollywood. Long live fellini, gilliam, joyce, faulkner, camus.. true art is magic, hope more people liked the more intelectual things.

  • @vicotino ^ one of the best comments on Youtube -- bold, true, and hopefully inspiring.

  • Hey, Will somebody please upload the complete "Hotel Chevalier" short film... Thx

  • LIfe Aquatic was a truly unique film, it kicked ass you clearly dont know what you're talking about.

  • WOW sferb.some heavy discussion there..

  • wes anderson is amazing i always find i enjoy his movies! They are ironically intelligent.....

  • You are a dumbass.

  • His movies are anything BUT nihilistic, and there's usually a lot more there than just a "quirky style". Now, having said that, Darjeeling is definitely his least work thus far. It was worth seeing, but I can't hold it up with the others which I've enjoyed over and over again.

  • They're just jealous and taking out their all-consuming envy of his success and hipness-factor by calling him a douche. Classic ego-saving defense mechanism, Human Psychology 101. Next?

  • jason is HAWT!!!

  • They showed the short before the movie in my cinema 2

  • they actually showed the short at the theater where I saw this

  • i really love them. but the whole thing with needing to see the short before seeing the film is kinda true and i am SO ANGRY that the short is only a US itunes download. that kinda sucks. then after all that they go on TV and say "you really have to see it before you see the film! get it on itunes!" ouch.

  • chevalier means knight,, not hotel.... you know how to reck a nice french name.. which happen to be my last name........pick another name...

  • I fail to see anything pretentious about this interview.

  • Jason is SO talented. What a genius

  • why is he a douche?

  • yes please elaborate

  • The word pretentious has really been overused and bastardized as of late.

    Baha at Rigelnigel's comment.

I actually really enjoyed this film. But I'll leave it at that, lest someone use that p-word again on any further comment I make about the film.

  • In order to get the part Natalie had to kiss his mole. She was surprised to find out it was fake, just like his acting talent.

  • I love Wes Anderson he's a creative genius, and Jason is so damn cute

  • Adrien looks like he is dozing off.

  • wes anderson made another "cute" and shitty movie.

  • Hahaha yeah! Jason's Mole is totally fake!

  • Actually I think I now retract my "baha", I didn't know you were so fixated with his fake mole.

  • get the F*** off this board you fool.

  • hahaha go watch transformers, if ya don't like wes don't see his movies

  • If you want entertainment go play with rocks. Films are art. And there's nothing weird about Anderson's movies. They're just less accessible than other films.

  • His films are made for a high-brow audience. There's plenty of lower-common-denominator heavily-marketed predictable Hollywood blockbuster fare to last through two armageddons, so why are you picking on one indie director for doing his thing? And what's wrong with being quirky and nihilistic? I watch his films for the cool style, not for some epiphany on love and death.

  • Why does itunes suck? becuase you have to pay for it?

  • I don't know who said iTunes sucks, but iTunes sucks for me in Canada because the short is only avaliable on the US version of iTunes. And since I have no American address that corresponds with my credit card info, in this case, yeah it REALLY sucks.

  • Don't be fooled by Anderson, he's a shameless self-promoter. If he wanted he could have easily slipped the short film in along with the feature. Anyways what he is saying is stupid. A) a work of art is never fully understood B) what if Bergman said you have to read my short story to get "Cries and Whispers"?...or Hendrix said you need to understand the blues scale to appreciate my music?

  • what if

    what if

    what if

    SHADDUP!

  • Special Needs rocks

  • theshwetts3, can you not spell?

  • "Cannot he not explain his film"

    to answer your question... what?

  • Him and his fake mole.

  • What? Portman got naked?...That's AWESOME!! Damn, wish I worked in film...dammit!!

Oh, and I'm sure the movie has an important message to and blah blah blah.

  • dude, i'm sorry but i can't stand the concept of promotion based on the fact that she got naked

    yeah it's awesome but seriously...

like Halle Berry in um that one with the MAKE MUH FEEL GOOD MAKE MUH FEEL GOOD

i'd see it more based on the word Chevalier, the actors, and the Sarstedt song

  • Monster's Ball is an incredibly moving film that's all about primal instincts and I think there is a lot of heartbroken abandon in that scene. Oh, yeah, it and it made me feel all funny down there.

  • God, Schwartzman sucks...Francis Ford Coppola's nephew, Talia Shire's son...That he wound up an actor is no surprise; but how women -- and yes, hot, famous women find him hot is the biggest mystery of all.

  • It's his fake mole. Draws them right in like a magnet.

  • It's not pretentious. What's pretentious about people having fun?

Having a good time is as American as apple pie.

  • Wes Anderson is cool but Schwartzman isn't. Just look at the fake mole on his cheek.

  • faces moles are portals

  • Pretentous? Cannot he not exlpain his film and answer the question?

  • gentle.

  • what did they say that seemed pretentious?

  • this is very pretentious wanna be 'art house' at that

  • it's a great movie, but Portman looks horribly anorexic

  • Portman's an intergalactic babe, she already has a planet named after her, it's called...Natalonia

  • Oh, yes, she is a babe, she should play the next Barbarella, but she needs to put on some weight

She can't so anything that makes her look not hot, which is shave her head

  • wow... I type horrible

She can't do anything that makes her look not hot, except for shave her head

  • i got you

    :)

  • why did someone thumbs down me?

that's actually a great idea...playing the next Barbarella, damn. if she's healthy and likes her body then it's not my business to worry about her weight although i do personally like a little of the junk trunk. she's an awesome actress and has total Oscar potential. one day.

  • Fully agreed. I'm generally fan of both of them film-wise, but fuck, they seem like such pretensious fucks in "real life".

  • ohhh that's right (sorry that's my typical sarcastic prequel slogan)...

when a person talks about "their feelings" and "culture" and "bein' buddies w/ internationals" i guess that makes THEM PRETENTIOUS (sarcasm is also in caps)

  • it just kind of came out. it was more of an intuitive feeling i get when i actually see anderson talking on the screen. i'm actually a huge long time fan of his work, there's just something disagreeable to me about his demeanor lately.

  • ok i just woke up so i'm going to get warmed up on you i hope you don't mind.

global warming+war+genocide=use your brain power on something more than critiquing celebrity behavior

(apu style) thank you come again!

other than that we're cool (hairflip)

    i'm just bein' sile

  • I'm terribly offended if you're in any way insinuating that global warming, war or genocide or all of the above is in any way more significant than the pretentious mannerisms of an indie film director. Seriously, are you thick? The idiosyncrancies of eccentric geniuses take priority one, in my book.

  • he's a part of the Bohemian Leisure Class. What do you expect? It's physically impossible for people in that group to NOT be pretentious-actin'. And I've been a die-hard fan of his for a long time as well. He makes great art, no doubt, but the snooty attitude comes with the territory, you know?

  • if the short is as gentle as Jason's hand gestures...i'm so there

  • its free on itunes

  • looks fantastic...is this on youtube?

  • i want to marry jason ahhhhhhh

  • Great idea but I can't see too many studios biting off on it...greedy bastards.

  • I like this idea and it's been a great way for movies to get audience or more so create an audience.

  • isn't it still in theaters right now? runs right before the Darjeeling Limited i thought, which is just coming out in theaters?

  • The short...The short...The short...The short... What and where is the short?!

  • Available on iTunes.

  • itunes sucks I don't use it

  • the man on anderson's right cannot keep his hands still. i think he's on crack.

  • yeah, he's definitely on something.

  • that would be Roman Coppola. and i'm assuming it's cocaine, to be exact.

  • 2 shizn:

no i think he's just nervous much...

  • Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it.

  • Yeah, Jason... do THAT before every movie! ;-)

  • Jason Schwartzmann talks like he's speaking to a foreign audience in this.

  • yeah seriously he's a retard. acts the same in every movie.
