Thanks for the clip. I have written Feinstien many times about this & she says the same thing. Even on the immunity issue. She fails to see (or admit) that the administration broke the law. As in Ford's pardoning Nixon, she is willing to sweep the crime under the rug. Fortunately, Nixon's crime ended with Nixon. Unfortunately, this crime will last until changed (if it ever is).
Shredding the Constitution isn't a Patriotic Act.
This Post will remind us of the situation we face.
but then again.. a country that doesn't get pissed about this .. probably don't deserve their freedom.. since it's being given away behind the scenes (for many americans)
not exactly, red. we're a constitutional democracy, which means that the minority is still protected by the Constitution, unless the majority manages to amend the Constitution, in which case, the Constitution becomes a tool of persecution. That hasn't happened yet - and so the minority still has the right to keep its freedoms, no matter what the majority may do passing laws in Congress. If these politicians in Congress really want to kill the fourth amendment, they should pass an amendment.
that's only if the majority agrees with or acknowledge the constitution. Our constitution have been ignored since 2001.
Yes, our constitution is being ignored... that's the consequence of a stupid majority not policing their own government.
We don't deserve this base on some notion of "justice". We deserve this much like the kid who played with fire. If a vast majority isn't paying attention, rights slip right under our toes.
Yes a majority are asleep and we are losing our freedoms, and yes we almost certainly will be a much less free country in the decades to come, but that does not make it right. It does not mean we should stop informing people about it. It does not mean that this is not a fight over everything that is important to us as a people.
You are right thought that if the people do not fight for their liberty, it will be taken away.
i think that's acceptable. There was nothing wrong with the previous fisa law.. it didn't need to be updated... our methods were not broken.. 9/11 didn't happen because we didn't have the information.
Some people just ignored them all and pretend they couldn't have seen it.

The fact that some Americans are lazy and ignorant doesn't mean that the rest of us should have our freedoms taken away.

unless only some of us aren't lazy and ignorant.. and the entire mass are the lazy one.

No, the rest of us STILL shouldn't have our freedoms taken away because of somebody else's deficiency.

you're missing the key words "entire mass". democracy is based on the people.. if the majority of the people don't care.. then that's how it goes.
If the minority only realize the wrong that happpened, the majority wins.
I'm not saying it's justified, but this is what we get as the american people.. for being stupid in large numbers.
