  • Uau. It´s much beauty to only one soul.

  • Amazing...

  • Lord i have a very broken heart .... :(

  • this version of this song just gave me goosebumps. he sounds like he is literally going to cry any second, like he is fighting back the tears. this song is verbalising my heart at the moment. there is no better song to describe how i feel. :(

  • did he write this about his wife when she left him for richard ashcroft ??

  • tone deaf or real? listen to this and critique and you dont have a soul.

  • Talented songwriter. I don't know about the performance though. He sounds partially tone deaf in this video. Love the record.

  • I love this song so much, although i dont have a broken heart,.i feel it!!

    Just beautiful.......The harmonica sounds stunning........

  • The harmonica at 2.37 onwards is just soul wrenching

  • @activate124 It's not anger. Have a nice day!

  • @activate124 you stated that a singer couldn't sing, and then told someone to commit suicide. a blatant lemming such as yourself who seems to care more for following sheepish internet 'memes' than understanding anything shouldn't be calling anyone "pretentious hipster." let alone suicide. now don't go nailing your dick to the keyboard, though it might stop/distract you from the pain that will be inflicted if you keep running blind through life... i hope you enjoy the song, you smarmy jackass.

  • this was wrote about the girl who left him for Richard Ashcroft

    Lucky man Broken heart

she inspired two of the best songs of the year

  • Kormataria megali

  • I'd like to see you do better chump.

  • I'd like to see you do better chumps.

  • Stunning

  • Beautiful. I remember once seeing a couple at the Glastonbury festival. They were on the ground cycling their legs in the air to this. Was very touching. Cannot remember the year, but it was the first time i ever saw spiritulized.

  • Jason far right of center on stage. I'm gonna stand here and let the music speak for itself. You don't like it, go fuck yourself.

  • how i feel. dead inside

  • WOW..Breathtaking performance.......

  • what kind of harmonica is this?

  • NOTHING comes close to this....nothing...xxx

  • this song with choir and harmonica...

    EPIC.

  • From the first note - it brought a tear to my eye. Listened to this song a lot during the worst time in my life. Thank you Spiritualized.

  • transcendent beauty

  • Absolutely heart-breaking song. There's so much passion. I can identify with it all which makes it all the harder to listen to. When you're feeling down this track is something you can just really connect to. :(

  • what can you say that hasnt already been said by something else on this masterpiece. What a track, album and band.

  • Completely heartbreaking. I, too, wish this didn't hit home right now.

  • What a beautiful and utterly sad song.If this song doesn't bring you to the brink of tears you have no soul.

  • man, even on the best days i can't hear this thing without misting up.

  • Absolutely effing superb. What a wonderful sound and a wonderful record. Beautiful.

  • Thanks

  • I've always loved this song,

I just wish it didn't resonate so much right now.

  • christ this song still kills me...beautiful...sob ...sob

  • emotional epic

  • Damn they were great, wish Jason hadn't sacked this band. The new stuf isn't bad though. Ladies and Gents is the best.

  • fucking beautiful

  • beautiful, sounds even better than the record

  • yeah it does

  • If you like this version get the Abbey Road E.P. The version on there blows the original out of the water.

  • I feel like this song is just so...it's like one long note. I don't know how they made it so seamless. Amazing.

  • Christ, this perfectly describes how I'm currently feeling to a tee.

  • cool especially when you see it live . sorry for boasting but have had the absolute pleasure of seeing these guys live a few times

  • I think I understand now how this must have spoken so clearly to our dear sweet Jake.

  • holy frikkin genius

  • This is so amazing!! *orgasm?* :D

  • I have to remember to breathe when I listen to this

  • Jay Spaceman = musical genius.

Spacemen 3 was key, but Lazer Guided Melodies changed my life.

  • the strings in this song are amazing.

  • respect pour un mec qui sort cette musique

  • It's the vocal push forwards and the pull backs that elevate this.

A roundness of sound. I love it.

  • is that will carruthers on harmonica?

  • this song helped me through some timez....

  • the postal service?!!!!

  • I'm too busy to be heart-broken... Lord I have a broken heart.

  • u clearly know what ur talkin about.......

  • not me with -4 thumbs down...ur favourites dont inspire confidence that u know anything about music in any decade..

  • What, him being a Charlie Parker and Thelonius Monk fan means he doesn't know anything about music?!

  • Enjoy not knowing what you're on about.

  • are you serious or just pretending to sound edgy???

  • not me with -4 thumbs down...ur favourites dont inspire confidence that u know anything about music in any decade..

  • its up there - if you hear it start to finish its a strong album

  • Album of the 90's no doubt..sorry radiohead fans close second but 4 sheer emotional impact ladie/gentlemens cant be touched.

  • I hate people that apologise when stating their opinion as fact

  • saw this at the Albert hall and between that version and this one it has me in tears, just the harmonica alone....

  • l&g album of the decade(the 90's) closely followed by postal service

  • Comment removed

  • this is around 7 years before postal service.

  • Comment removed

  • wtf that mean? postal service are deadly u muppet

  • shut up scat face u know nothing.

  • Scooter - Move Your Ass...HAHA this from your favourites u loser Scat face..goto hell

  • the postal service are a sack of wank

  • as are you..

    why everyone down on p.s

  • If this song does not touch you, then you are not HUMAN.

    Beautiful, and very sad.

  • Amazing! Larger than life.

  • So good it almost hurts...

  • emotional and amazing in everyway..

  • Maybe the best Spiritualised song .... right choice when heartbroken.

  • Far, far, far, far better live than the album version.

Album version doesn't even come close to this.

  • Very emotional. His voice is very hypnotic, it like puts you to sleep. I mean that in a good way though. Fantastic song.

  • How can you fall asleep with your heart broken?

  • You probably can't, but i was just on about his voice putting you to sleep, not the actual lyrics..uh.. :/.......

  • god i love this song.......he singing about my..my...my...ehhhhhh

  • Nietzche, or some other philosophizing geezer, once said that all artforms aspire to the conditon of music.

When you watch and listen to this, or other Spiritualized songs, you can understand what he meant.

I don't understand why comments about nationality are posted in response to this piece of music. Surely music is a transcendental force, and that includes transcending the melee associated with debate and argument about nationalism.

  • another amazing live band

  • whoa, when that gospel choir kicks in it's hard to stop tears welling up!

  • anyway, this song is so beautiful. it makes my broken heart feel better.

  • sonic boom is all well and good..but stuck very much to the sp3 template, spirtiualized move on. they're both great in their own way....but this song really tugs at the ole heart strings

  • british music at its best

  • Nationalism has its rare benefits, but this is not "british" music. Yes Jason is a great artist but he doesnt choose people based on nationality. Sorry to spoil your fun but music is a human thing not inclusive on races, nations, or religion. Sigh/why are people always prone to create a superior entity.

  • WOW i think you should smoke some of that stuff your countries famed for and just chill a bit

  • he is british

  • best band ever especially live. check my band out, we aren't that similar to spiritualized but he's a massive influence on me personally. (myspace com theeoutlaws) thanks xx joey

  • Yup, these songs get you through drug addiction and irrational behavior. But after recovery there is no possible return to enjoyment of depressing music. There is a far amount of beauty in this song from 3.00 out. Choir/harp in exc. comb. Otherwise too dark.

  • one of the best songs of all time in my opinion. This song has got me through my worst times in life since i was 14! still does now. What a fantastic, underated band.

  • first time i ever agreeed with all comments.reminds me to acknowledge all in my life, and after.

  • This song makes me sad... ㅡ ㅜ

  • This song is magic, and amazing live... When they played in Boston this song really hit people, but then "Anything More" came later and people who hadn't heard that album yet were simply dumbfounded with how amazing that song was as well - so check it out also.

  • eu me sinto diminuto quando ouço essa música. esse tipo de experiência, como o dessa música, engrandece a alma... ah, sei lá.

  • omg what a horrible dark song

  • I heart this song so so much... :(

  • Amazing. Don't know what it is about strings, but they make you weepy!

  • 1 of the most beautiful sad song..

  • La versión original es sublime... impresionante. Esta versión, inclinada hacia el gospel, es excelente ¡No hay palabras para describir esta canción!

Melodía y Melancoñía, una buena combinación.

  • such a tearjerker! but serene & beautiful all the same

  • awesome!

  • yay!

  • impresionant!

  • beautiful
