you know its the truth. most of this bill is pork, its projected to be $3 trillion, which is just going to increase the debt for generations to come. Spending through the roof does not solve problems.
Im not siding with what repubs did in the bush years, but you guys are just looking at it from a "red vs blue" point of view.
I live in a part of the country with many manufacturing firms. Power, Aerospace, Automotive, you name it. They're all benefiting from this bill, as is CalTrans and the DWP.
first of all, even if it is "for the opposition" its for a good cause. Olbermann is just a loyal democrat who cant see the downside to this "stimulus." again, the dems had the congressional majority since 2006. spending the hell out of a country with a $10 trillion debt is not going to solve our problems. I'll bet these are the same guys that opposed the wall street baillouts, but people are just taking this as a simplified "red vs blue" argument.
It's a simplified 'red v blue' argument because the voting is 'red v blue'. 172 D's and 91 R's voted for Bush's first bailout (H.R. 1424). This time, 244 D's and ZERO R's voted for this stimulus package (H.R. 1). (house votes)
I believe you have lost your bet.
Oh, and I have a solution no one will like... Go back to the top level tax rates of the 50's (91% over 400K). Or even 1980 (70% at 215K). Our complaints all come down to the greed of Wall Street. Eliminate the greed factor, then!
olbermann is fucking stupid.
His reporting and commentary is fucking bullshit

does anyone realize this "stimulus" will worsen the economy? I dont think anyone does. th bill is now a $1.7 TRILLION.
this is not obstructionism, this is wise decision making. Olbermann is an idiot
d2eux 3 years ago
In my opinion, of course.

Where was this 'wise decision making' when these dolts were in power?
It's opposition for the sake of opposition. If it were legit, these characters would have implemented these ideas when they had the chance.

im sure partisanship has something to do with it, but its certainly not the reason for all of the members.

The Republicans are content to grandstand and bleat in defiance - the message is essentially "we're not obsolete!"
Bipartisanship would be nice, but they would rather see this country in ruins than have this administration succeed. Fuck them.

"Taxing the rich" hurts all of us.
Many wealthy citizens and corporations employ, and taking their capital leaves them with fewer opportunities to create jobs.
Moreover, those who ignore the future need no assistance. Spoiling them ruins their lives.
Employment is good.
Think of those who work, support themselves, and save.
In so doing, our duty emerges.
REJECT BARACK OBAMA!!!
