Actually charged water is not used as a setter. It is to be used as a refresher before makeup application. Fix plus is a setter spray used after makeup application to set makeup.
charged water doesnt set the make up. You dont put it after you do your make up. You can use it before make up for moisturizing or while you are putting your foundation , so that it will help you apply it easier. It is not a setting spray , but Fix+ is a setting spray that you can use over make up.
It is so disconcerting watching someone speak with half a face. I understand why you may be paranoid about security but c'mon.... find something else to do.
Heya!! I love your videos by the way :D !!I am just wondering, would you use fix + if you use a liquid foundation and then a loose powder... and then fix + to set it?? or would it be too much product and just make my face cakey looking because of the foundation and powder being already there??
glycerin is found in mixing mediums. mixing medium is used to make the pigments stick and more vibrant and i think thats what FIX+ makes makeup more fresher or more 'set' on the face.
Yeah I have no idea what training they need to pass! from another youtube poster's information, she seemed to get a part-time position at MAC just by showing an amateur portfolio of makeup she's done for a sorority and other events. I agree though, I think sometimes I know wayy more about the products than the artists. Sometimes they actually do very bad jobs with the makeovers...all I can really say for sure is that the quality of MAC artists' work and knowledge is never consistent
oo it's glintzy! i've LOVE your videos..I've been a fan :). I haven't yet tried out the glycerin b/c it's taken me so long to FIND it in a CVS. I'm pretty sure it would accomplish the same task as Charged Waters and Fix + since the ingredients don't seem so mysterious in them :). But I'll be sure to update you!
Wow thank you for this in depth review and explanation of all the ingredients. I saw this at the CCO and sprayed it on my face and wondered if it was worth it even on sale...but I actually think if I have an extra few dollars I' check it out. Thank you :).
thx so much this really did help,♥♥♥ i dont know if this is just me but from what i can see of you, you really look like jessica Alba...i think its the lips and the skin colour... thanks again this really helped btw love your videos♥♥♥
i was thinking of getting charged water, but im not sure if it was worth it and what was inside & if it'd be good for my skin, since ive damaged it. but after yu said its alll good for yu skin, im deciding to get it
I think it has some beneficial properties to it :) it MIGHT even be making my skin a little clearer since it has salicylic acid it in and I use a lot of it everyday.
i have the fix + and I don't see any difference :(. although i've heard you could add a little bit of vanilla pigment to the bottle so that it gives you a nice glow when you spray it on.
Can you refill the bottle? I just love the look of the spray bottle and would like to maybe use it for my own mixtures after using it up. That's if I even ever buy it.
I have that charged water as well...the mac girl told me that it works just like fix+...but if they have different ingrediants?!
I really don't find it does much at all but it smells pretty and I use it to help buff on make up on my brush. I like that it has the antiseptic quality...hopefully that will help germies stay away from my brush.
well like i said the both contain water and a moisture-binding chemical in them, but the latter is just different. So i could see how they would work the same. I definitely prefer the smell of this charged water :).
you know I didnt think of that..perhaps it DOES help your brush stay disinfected a little :).. but if you spray it with water it would probably at the same time want to harbor more bacteria anyways..like a wet sponge -__-
nah i just mix it. more aloe in the winter and more witch hazel in the summer. i make all my own crap. well except make-up itself. but i try to keep that stuff clean as well.
I watched your mac fafi haul video & many others..& In that video you mentioned about skin tone number like nc 30, nc 35 etc.I was wondering how can I measure that?
I am south asian(india). I am new to makeup..I am learning a lot for your videos.
because I did not effectively protect my skin. I will not let that happen this spring or summer. darker complexions need just ask much spf and sun protection as lighter complexions. I had to learn this the hard way. I promise you my skin turned 3 shades darker last summer. It is better now. lol
NICE details on the ingredients, it's always important, if not helpful, to know what each component does...w/ so many false claims out there, it's nice to have the background knowledge to judge for ourselves. I think I'll try the charged water, MAC better pay you commissions for all these free advs, j/k =) Thanks again!
I definitely agree that it's a must to know what ingredients are going onto your face!! lol I try not to be an exclusive MAC product user..I think each company has it's best qualities
i opted to get the fix+ awhile ago & im already half through the bottle. i think my skin feels a lot more supple when i spray this on before applying my moisturizer so im loving it. i believe the charged waters are limited ed. so ill definitely pick one up before they're gone
sorry I didn't get this review out to you in time then :) unless you already had Fix+ before you asked about charged water.. anyways
these sprays are definitely moisturizing! I dont know what it is..but I think they're great :). if you like Fix+ I'm sure u'll like this just as much. let me know how u'd compare the two!
hey! good review on the charged waters, i like how much detail uve gone into :) I've used the renewal defense one before and quite like it but im curious bout the other two (the clear one and the greeny lookin one). Here in Australia they have only released the pink and clear ones as limited edition items with the N collection. My skin tends to get really oily so sometimes il used the charged water instead of my moisturiser, and i find it works really well. do you know much about the other two?
I actually do not have experience with the other two since this one was my first one!! But I can't imagine them to be that much different from each other. I think what is really different are the minerals and 'extras' in each water. a tip is to email MAC a question online and ask for the ingredients lists for each of the charged waters!! that way you can compare them all to see how similar they are before you go out and grab one!
I have all three and the fix plus! they are great. I use them just to freshen up my face throughout the day and to set my makeup! my favourite is the Renewal defense ( peachy one!)
yes you can definitely do that. I usually did set with powder and then use this spray.. the only reason I haven't been doing so recently is b/c I've been applying my mineral powder foundation using the wet method (spray the brush then dip into foundation then buff on face) so i already have a bunch of this stuff on! but you should definitely do this after setting in general :)
heyyy - i have the blue, orange, clear charged waters and fix +... i think they do help to keep moisturized... and somehow control the oil factor on my face... don't ask me how! hahah it may all be in my head... but anyway - the orange smells like fruit loops to me, the blue smells like that violet gum that tastes like powder soap and the clear is just there... hahaha... thats my mini review...
i agree about the waters somehow controlling the oil factor on the face, altho im not quite sure how either. i think it has something to do with the fact that its not as heavy as a cream/lotion moisturiser cos its in a finer misty water form, but still helps to moisturise
they definitely do. they work in magical ways :). I'm excited that you guys found these to control oil ..b/c I get oily in the summer time so I'll definitely keep one of these on hand!
OMG i was totally going to say it reminded me of fruit loops! lol u're 100% right :). thanks for the synopsis of the scents ;). Hmm oil control eh? i haven't noticed! I should keep an eye out for that
The charged water can be a setting spray!!!!!! It sais right on the back! Chec out my review on it! My vid is only 3 mins long!

you can do it at home, mix glycerin, white tea, then put in the travel bottle, and spray it on your face..

Im a makeup artist for MAC, i dont believe Charged water has salicylic acid...i could be wrong but im sure FIx plus doesnt.
It doesnt make the makeup last longer, it doesnt set the makeup either...its just a makeup finisher. Helps condition the skin.
You can use it in your hair as well at the beach...its great for it.
CameraFamous 2 years ago 2
I bought this and it seems quite good. The make up seems to last longer when I've used this.
