  • great video guys!

  • how did the BB's taste? one hell of a breast shot!

  • He did put a few low that's for sure ... but sometimes that's the nature of an uphill shot ... it's all he had. Didn't do as much damage as you may think ... best of luck this season.

  • good job!

    perfekt shot!

  • Lawdy!! Good size bird.

  • good shot

  • Thanks man ... it was a tough one on that moving bird. Good luck this season.

  • where in ct are you hunting?

  • We hunt all over CT ... we live down towards the shoreline.

  • Do you need locals for your show? I'm from Westport my buddy is from Newtown.

  • We always look for local opportunity ... good luck this season ... I just got a 20" wide 8 pt, that dressed at 200 lbs with a bow on film the other day ... hope to have it posted soon .

    Good luck this season ...

  • I, WOULD LOVE TO BOW HUNT TURKEY!

  • Thank you for your reply, I'll stick too using a rifle, all the same mate! Anyway we both have same interest in a sport that requires skill, hope to put some of my hunts up one day, split the difference. cheers mate,

  • Here in Australia, camo, decoys, and callers dont need them, I use a .22 rifle and head shot 37 turkeys in 2 hours on King Island. Shotguns too noisey and mess the meat.

  • Shotguns only mess up the meat if you don't shoot correctly. Mostly the breast remains untouched to patient good shots. Sorry mate, practice more and you will be alright! G'Day.

  • what size shot and what ammo do you recomend for a 20 gauge on a early spring hunt

  • have you guys ever hunted in new york state or planning to hunt in ny

  • Sure do ... we hunt Cooperstown quite a bit ... we have a goose hunt and a turkey hunt posted on our site from there.

  • i just noticed that your scope gives off a red glare, wouldn't the birds be able to see that? anyways great vid and good job!

  • Been using them for over 12 years ... I can't say that I would blame one bird leaving on that ... if they can pick that off, chances are I can pick them off ... LOL ... Best of luck this spring.

  • what is gun in all videos

  • Charles Daly 3.5" 12 ga. Auto. with a TruGlo red dot scope and a Carlson's choke.

  • Tell me please what is gun in your hand

  • i lik the way u put this video together but thats not turkey hunting thats just geting in the right spot and geting luckey.. u should have had decoys and called that shit in lol. adn not taken the shots of the guy with the gun way after the bird was shot (way 2 noticeable) all in all nice hunt tho!

  • aww man i had a little bit of a doubt that you wouldnt get it, but that was just one awesome video. 5/5 good job

  • Just imagine what that stupid bitch Sarah Palin's voice would do to em...Gawd! they would be screamin!

  • U BETCHA! Lmao

  • Awesome Video Guys!

  • Thanks man ... I can't wait till spring ... and we still have 6 hunts from last season we haven't posted yet.

  • how di du become a pro hunter im thinking about fillming my hunts and sending them in would that work?

  • Now that's funny right there ... I don't care who ya are ... LOL. ... I actually use a goose call quite a bit as a locator.

  • that was relly something worth watching. i would love to go huntinh turkey some time. nice shot too!

  • Thanks man ... glad you enjoyed it ... it certainly a blast, that's for sure.

  • Man great video. I watched every one tonight! When are you going to have some new videos on here?

  • Thanks man ... glad you dig 'em ... We got 7 hunts on film this spring and I'll be posting them soon ... We also have some great trout footage as well ... Subsbsribe so you informed when they post.

  • hey!!! great vid what kida gun would you recommended for a smaller set teenager. on my first turkey hunt and shootig skeit.

  • Thanks buddy ... I'd look into a youth 12ga. or a twenty ... depends on how much kick you can handle. A twenty will certainly do the trick and is a lot easier on the shoulder ... an auto would help that as well ... whatever you pick, be sure to pattern it before you hit the woods. Good luck.

  • hey good video i got my bird today it was 22 pounds 11 in. beard 1 in spurs.

  • ROCK ON DanTheMan ... Great Bird ... Congrats!!! from all of us here at Real Outdoors TV.

  • thank u i might not of been able to gt him in if it wasn't for ur mouth call video. Thankz

  • I'm sure the hunter had something to do with it ... check out my box call vid i just posted ... I'll be doing a slate one soon as well.

  • what kind of shotgun did you use and what kind of Ammo and wht kind of scope that you put on your shotgun

  • We are using Winchester HV Supreme # 6 shot with a Carlson's Choke and TruGlo red dot style scope ... it's a great combo.

  • what is the Winchester HV Supreme and the Carlson's Choke

  • Ammo and Choke Tube

  • haha ya didnt go so well this morning didnt hear or see anything think the birds have been hunted hard around here, goin to try again tomorrow, who knows

  • Can't get one if your not out there ... good luck. Try later in the morning if you can. They tend to not get hunted later and the hens are on the nest ... good time to hunt and usually less pressure.

  • thank you. i actually hunt in central mass and opening day was monday, turned out pretty good took a nice 20lb 11in tom. almost packed it in after being coverd with lead three times from the guy on the other side of the hill.was still an awsome time. helpin a buddy take his first tom in the mornin so that should be fun. good luck this weekend, and the rest of the spring

  • Sounds like a great time ... CONGRATS on the bird ... nice job .... good luck with your buddy ... let us know how you do.

  • awsome videos...nice to see local hunting on here. keep up the good work. i'm looking forward to see more.

  • We'll be out on Sat for the youth day with a 12 year old. Should be a blast ... keep your fingers crossed for us. Good luck this spring if your hittin' the woods.

  • and then it walked back to the top of the hill and gobbled and it had no beard beacuse i made sure and looked and it had no spurs also. i was just wondering if there is such thing as a gobbling hen.

  • I've got a struttin' hen on video, but never gobblin' ... I've heard of them doing a broken gobble, but it's sounds real wierd. If birds are moving off, use a locator, like a crow call, to stay on them ... then move in front of them, set up and either wait, or call just a little. Good luck.

  • thnx

  • hey yesterday was opening day in maien and wwe saw a lot of birds pasted up a couple jakes and some small toms. I have a question. We set up and were calling and got a tom and hen to answer us but they wouldn't come in. so after about 20 minutes of no response we moved out and walked up this hill and 1 saw one on the other side. so we set up again and put out the decoy and started calling and a hen came up but it was kinda puffd out and it checked out the decoy.

  • Should i call at all or put out decoys? Hens or jake decoys if i should?? GOing to be scouting the next 4 weekends so I'm hopin to have em dialed in pretty good

  • Do NOT call while scouting ... I like to use the terrain when I hunt ... I set up so the first time the bird can see me, he is in distance ... watch my "Open Woods Gobbler" hunt to see what I mean.

  • call and put out decoys, then when they get in close from calling they come even closer to the decoy.

put out hen decoys cuz thats what calls you'll be making but if you want a jealous tom put out 2 or possibly 3 hen decoys and 1 jake decoy and it will piss them off, they'll go straight to the jake usually

  • Oh cool. Do you guys mainly use diaphragm calls? this will be my 3rd year huntin (unsuccessful in first 2) and Im huntin my families 140 acres but in Wisconsin we have seasons and mine will be the last and it starts may 21st and most hens are going to be nesting then so are there any tips to still get a bird? I'm hoping to get a tom still lookin for some action but not sure on how they are going to be...

  • If it's late in the season, start watching for patters ... sit and listen for a morning or two ... get in the path of where they want to go first thing.

  • in the background was that a hen or another hunter callin?

  • There was only me yelping ... a real hen sounded off twice and thats it.

  • nice bird, i was wondering if you could tell me a couple tips about turkey hunting.I realy dont know to much about turkey hunting ive only gone out twice. and im going out tomrow with my dad for the youth season

  • You got it buddy ... anything I can do to help.

  • could u just give me some callin tips?

    thanks.

  • I sent you an email on you channel.

  • to me?

  • YUP ...

  • Hey buddy ... we're using Canon GL2 's ... for the money they are the best ... The XL2 is incredible and a fantastic camera ... not a whole lot better picture, but more options for audio and optics ... never used the XHA1 so I can't say much about it.

  • went hunting this past weekend but got nothing :( but i'm gonna go agian in 2 weeks and i will get one for sure! also gonna get myself a great blind from cabelas or fleet farm.

  • Nice ... good luck !!! ... thanks for keepin' us in the loop ... we love to hear it.

  • i'll keep you updated! are making a new video?

  • Season opens on May 7th so we hope to have a bunch comin' ... but I have a new box call instructional that should hit next week.

  • That sucks !!!! ... that's public land huntin' for ya. Better luck next time.

  • YOur killin' me ... You rock ... any vid ... love to see some pics at least.

  • Nice video except for the edited parts where you was acting like a bird was coming in to your left then oh it was coming to the right but wait maybe it was straight on. I would cut that part out it was kinda weird. Also after the kill you two fellas act like your on something maybe tone it down a couple notches. But otherwise excellent looking eastern longbeard congrats.

  • Thanks man ... they did actually come in from all directions ... as for toning it down ... I don't know ... I can't help myself when I smack a good gobbler ... that may have been toned down ... LOL ... check out my "Double Time Part 2" vid to see me off my rocker. We got three longbeards from one setup. Check out both parts 1 & 2. Good Luck this spring.

  • I'll check that out, We are going to video our hunts this year and try to post them as well. If it wasn;t for the pouring rain last weekend I would have gotten the 2 gobblers I called into 8 yards for my 14 yr old and 14 yr old nephew last weekend on youth day.

  • Good luck to you ... we're hittin' the woods on youth day as well with a 12 year old. Good to hear your gettin' the kids involved.

Best of luck ... let us know how you do.

  • Dude ... YOU ROCK !!! ... love to hear it ... bomber bird ... good luck in MO ... I hunted there and I know there are birds that big and bigger ... Go whack one for me.

  • hey man u been shed hunting at all either?

  • I'm always lookin' while I scout for spring gobblers ... nothing specific though.

  • nice vid dudes keep up the good shooting:)

  • Thanks man ... glad you like 'em ... we're planning on doing as much as we can this spring ... good luck to you if your hittin' the woods.

  • gosh this makes me so ready for season!!! in a couple weeks!!! im so ready been seein 20+ hens wit 4big ol strutin toms!!!!

  • God get 'em ... and let us know how you do ... good luck.

  • well, I was going to go turkey hunting but i don't have the proper equiptment so I can't go but goose season isn't for seven months so turkey hunting might have to wait untill next year

  • That just gives you that much longer to get dialed in and better prepared ... it's not a bad thing.

  • nice birds

  • Thanks man ... can't wait till season ... it's just around the corner.

  • i noe ohio's season starts in amonth or so

  • why do you film the shots of the hunter aiming after the hunt is over? you can tell it is much lighter when you film the hunter, than it is when your following that longbeard.

doesnt that take the "reality" out of it?

  • Actually the difference in the light is because the appurature of the lense is wide open and allows more light in ... a subtle example is just before he shoots ... look at how it lightened a little when I zoomed back ... imagine if I came all the way back ... you would have seen how light it was. Good observation though ... sometimes you have to do it that way with one camera to show the story.

  • were are ya guys huntin in that one. you said eastern is this in like Vermont or new Hampshire?

  • We're huntin' CT ... lots of birds here ... if you can get the property. Might be doing some filming in VT this spring as well.

  • Very nice.. id say this might be my favorite. The sounds were awesome in this one.

  • Thanks man ... those are the sounds that an offset shotgun mic will pick up ... you can even hear the wings on the bird flying out of the roost.

  • i know. that's pretty nice!

  • Great vid! Can't wait for opening day 08!

  • Thanks man ... I'm with you on that one ... a bunch of us just got together last night to run some calls and discuss a game plan for the season.

  • Yea, me neither. Georgia's season starts on the 22nd of March.

  • once again another great video! you guys had those birds fired up!! awesome job!

  • Thanks bro ... we try to get good stuff, but it's not always easy ... I'm pumped you like it ... makes it worth the effort.

  • i have never seen someone work so hard to shoot a turkey. i went to a mates farm yesterday and killed 250 of the in 6 hours. New Zealand no one cares about turkeys here there everywhere. great dun a 12 guage a 4 wheeler and lots of killing. we even had beer to drink great stuff.

  • Atta boy, great bird!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't wait for April!!!

  • I wish ... can't hit the woods 'till May here in CT.

  • Really? I can go in March. I've deer hunted before, but this will be my first year Turkey hunting.

Need to get a shotgun before then too...We can use the M4 with 223 hollow points, but it might ruin the most of the meat.

  • kafadan vur oglum !! head shot!! is not hunting !

  • It's the way we hunt turkeys here in the states ... it's a very quick and humane harvest ... and not as easy as you may think.

  • do you gys just hunt turkey, or are you hunting any other animals?

  • We also do waterfowl, upland, whitetail and fishing ... we just have more turkey footage from the past years. Check out our channel for some waterfowl action, tips and tactics.

  • hey you

  • My heart was pumping just as hard as yours, Bro! Great video of a great hunt! Sounded like you were on a Turkey farm! QUESTION: What Locator call did U use the night before and did U call at all in the AM or did they just land down on top of you? WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA hunter here-thanx for the knowledge! See U in the woods.

  • Thanks buddy ... My favorite owl call is made by Hunter's Specialties ... the Palmer Hoot Tube ... it's by far the best. We'll be doing more turkey stuff as spring gets closer ... keep any eye out ... we're just gonna keep getting better. Thanks for checkin' us out.

  • Right on...congrats guys...that is a great bird and a great tail to go with the great memories of that awesome turkey hunt!

  • We had'em all over us ... certainly a day to remember ... nothing like success on opening day to start the season off right.

  • You guys can't post stuff like this during deer season, now I gotta go turkey hunting.

  • I here ya bro ... I can't wait to hear those NY gobblers hammerin' away. Gotta love Cooperstown in the spring. It's one of my favorite places and favorite time of year.

  • Did you get to check out our Cooperstown, NY turkey and goose hunts on our channel??? Check them out ... I'm sure you'll dig 'em.
