@RZKoriginal honestly, i think everlasting life would drive me insane; the same monotonous thing done over, and over, and over again, even if i went to a so called paradise, i would run out of things to do, and go insane doing the same thing. if you really desire ever-lasting life, then surely you must forget whatever previous life you had in order to keep your sanity, and then it would be just as dying would be. also religion is some pretty evil shit
I believe in nothing..nothing exist and nothing ever existed... i think people convince themself to a superior existence and a divine will to feel more safe and sure of what he's doing.. I respect all religion and who have faith, but i think they make blind their eys and they cannot afford reality with their only force, and thinking that all is guided by a superior force is the easy way to feel stronger when all crushes onn you.. but its only a lie.. btw no one knows what really exists
most religions do not qualify as belief systems, since by necessity beliefs can not be falsifiable. if a belief is falsifiable it is only an incorrect assertion. for example, the belief that an object can be circular and square simultaneously is falsifiable because it is logically inconsistent. just as the belief in an omnipotent omniscient deity is falsifiable, since those properties wildly contradict each other.
believe in science? science has an epistemologic methodology that can be demonstrated. it is only a means of interpreting the physical world. you don't "believe" in it because it states nothing as an absolute. gravity is a theory. a scientist doesn't "believe" objectively that the theory of gravity is correct. he will say something along the lines, "to the best of our knowledge from the evidence gathered, gravity seems to be the most likely explanation for why shit falls." that's not a belief.
i believe that nothing is impossible. to expand on this: though many things are highly unlikely, the impossibility of impossibility causes me to aknowledge and contemplate the beliefs of many religions and philosophies, without fully subscribing to any of them. nice choice of music btw. it took me a while to figure out where it was from and then i recognised it from the new romeo and juliet. lol. quite effective =)
haha, nope. if thats an old evenescance track thats what they used in romeo and juliet. the exact same. (of course, i could be wrong.. nothing, after all, is impossible)
Religion has two simultaneous levels, the personal and the political. The personal are only malicious in that they have their heads in the sand and really don't know how they are being manipulated at the top. At the political level, of course, religion is really dangerous, totalitarian, dangerous and something to be feared. It has its own code of terrorism.
If this is the way you search truth, I admire you doing so. Don't stop until you find it. And don't settle for anything less. Have an open mind. Me and my friends have found, you will too.
Yes...but that is something entirely different than the arguments posed by Religions.
Science 'argues' with itself to discern truth from given evidence.
Religion argues to impose it's static, unchanging dogma and belief system onto and over others at the cost of fundamental freedoms (freedom of expression, freedom FROM religion, etc.)
Also, 'Science arguing with itself' wasn't the best way to word it. What I meant was Athiests are trying to convince everyone science is right and religion is wrong, when nobody asked for their opinion in the first place.
Were it not for the advent of things like Blue Laws, Intelligent Design, impeding Scientific advance, and other cases of blatant discrimination and favoritism of particular Religious types over others; it wouldn't be a matter of religion being wrong.
When Religious types finally get over the fact that people don't buy it and withdraw the influence affecting the lives of non-believers on the basis of fabrication and myth; then you'll see alot fewer Atheists with a bone to pick.
Also....as for Jews knocking on doors; there are other wide-spread issues regarding the Jews (kosher tax, EVERYTHING RELATED TO ISRAEL, and other things) and every major organized religion in the United States, if not the world.
People who don't believe in God don't do horrible things because they don't believe. However, people that do believe have committed horrible atrocities justified by their faith.
Religion brings widespread death and suppression of truth. Theism is ignorance embraced.
Thus we venture to the stance of Professor Dawkins. Religious people specifically may or may not be so bad. However, organized religion is a festering parasite, a cancer upon society.
He doesn't believe it possible for religion to exist without the organizations that grow from it.
Religion is just an excuse to start a war. Its only those who are insecure about there own faith, who deem other religions as stupid or false.
I pay no mind to other relgions because I do not beleive in them, thats is what other people should do. Instead of spending time thinking about what does not concern them.
I am Atheist. On paper, I'm "Druze", a minority religion founded in Lebanon. I gave up religion, because organized religion in general is turning into a weapon, more than a sanctuary of peace, love, and spirituality. Giving up my monotheistic faith is due to something more personal. I just want to assure you guys that I don't insult religions, and that religion is something personal. I'm open for a friendly and mature discussion.

Religion = The Accepted Insanity
LockardKevin 1 year ago
Religion is for the lazy. They have stopped looking for answers, stopped asking questions.
I was raised Catholic. The first time I entered a church at age 4, I screamed "Where's Jesus Christ?" I felt duped.
timmyblaze 2 years ago
If a religion claims that theirs is the only true religion, then it is definitely false
If a religion allows the practice of hate, killings, racism, discrimination against sexes and other beliefs, then it is definitely false
If a religion doesn't accept criticism and change for the better, then it is truely false
And you know what i mean, it is satanism
we all know that and they wont accept the fact

well seeing as science is proven fact it doesnt fall into belief.
Belief (noun):
1.something believed; an opinion or conviction: a belief that the earth is flat.
2.confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof: a statement unworthy of belief.
3.confidence; faith; trust: a child's belief in his parents.
4.a religious tenet or tenets; religious creed or faith: the Christian belief.
I don't need a belief, I'll take FACT.
