As for your illness I can relate to a great degree. I have UC and it destroyed my life completely. Going out is almost impossible so I went from playing in a rock n roll band and having a good job and life, to living in a garage. But I hope and send all the best to you for recovery & lessening of your pain.

my sister mary has fibromyalgia also. i remember she told me she was on cymbalta also and had bad reaction to it. i know a great deal about chemical imbalances. and also how releive pain drug free. and that a great deal with a chemical imbalance is adjustment period. but there is newer drugs that have little no side affects, like pristiq. there is older drugs like fluxotine from the 80,s that did well for a great deal of time. but my sister does well and she manages a division. she gets tired

I suffer, too, from F/M. I cannot take Lyrica, so I am currently taking Cymbalta. Cannot tell if it is working yet, but I just wanted you to know you are not alone. This is a terrible thing, and I pray for an end.
I took Cymbalta and became covered in bleeding wounds, got violent stomach flu-like symptoms and ended up in the ER. It took 3 weeks to recover, still am, in fact. After I started taking it, a new side effect was added to the official list for the drug: death.
Apparently your physical constitution is better than you let on, I doubt many people would have survived, from what you describe. You definitely have strength somewhere deep down in side, I can see that, though I'm not sure if it's based more in the realm of what is physical, of what is mental, or spiritual. No doubt, if any or all apply here, they all have their place in whatever allowed you to make it through. I hope that there are no long term side effects, and that you are over the worst. :)
cymbalta should not prescribed without a full blood workup. it should also require a full week of physiatrist evaluation. before it is subscribed. it is only used for certain types of depression. like extreame greif. but it would leave you shakeing like you drank to much coffee. but some is caused by muscle weakness, or no exercise.
The Psych Drug Truth website lists 85 awful side effects from Cymbalta withdrawal. So sorry you were a victim of this MaryAnne.,m and so relieved you are off it now. Ann

i did look this up! and it could come under seizure or tremor, for what happened to you? most of this sickness is in the mind. so you will think you have another sickness? but the testing comes up false negitive. the only drug that might help is pristiq at this time. it does not have as many side effects. some people think that it has little to no effect compared to prozac. but you just want the mind in a clear thinking working state. and you want the body on a normal routine.

PS. The feather story made me think of one of my favouritte verses: Psalme 91:4. (the only English bible I have is new king james, so sorry about the "thee" and "thou"'s.) "He shall cover you with His feathers. And under his wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler." The rest of Psalme 91 is awesome as well, but I especially like that verse.

Thanks ysa for that heads up. My Dr. tried Lyrica with me and it literaly messed up my equalibrium and gave me crazy thoughts it was a nightmare.

Happy Easter Maryanne . Its great to see you are feeling at least a bit better . Years ago I worked with a women with Fibro and she cured it in two weeks by eating nothing but Cabbage Soup.This was before we were mindful of the Ozone Layer . Keep Rockin and Rollin and Keep The Rock Rollin !

Aw lady...my heart goes out to you. I know God has his plan and gives us only what we can bear but I gotta tell ya, sometimes it still boggles my mind why someone of your talent, caliber, and overall essence is "chosen" to carry such a burden. I dunno. I just hope and pray you get well soon and are able to find some relief until then.

I pray that you recover really quickly maryanne, you do look alot happier and it's amazing how animals can cheer you up, but for me it's dogs, i LOVE big dogs especially cause you can hug'em... :-)

I've called you Job several times in my correspondance through You Tube, YS.
I think he's the most important object lesson to be learned from in the bible. I know times are hard, but you never waiver in your determination and acceptance of your situation. You never faulter in your faith. (not that you've not wrestled with God about the issues you're having)
You truly are an inspiration to those who are in like situations.

Your courage and strength inspires me to keep at it, as I am sure it does many others. You are in my payers.
PS. The feather story made me think of one of my favouritte verses: Psalme 91:4. (the only English bible I have is new king james, so sorry about the "thee" and "thou"'s.) "He shall cover you with His feathers. And under his wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler." The rest of Psalme 91 is awesome as well, but I especially like that verse.

Whether we know you personally or not, we are all praying for you. Inspired by Palm Sunday and the coming Holy days, I hope that you find solace on my favorite day of the week, Maundy Thursday. Think and remember that Jesus got down on his knees before the ones He loves and shows each and everyone of us individually that he is full of mercy and grace and love and ready to share with you.
