  • Those... eyebrows...

  • @deepwaterstillness I would have to agree 110% with what you said. This movie is absolutely gorgeous and it transcends any Pagan vs. Christian mentality that anyone might possess.

  • I want this animation as tattoos, its so pretty!! but no human would be able to recreate this in real life and it would never look the same :C

  • Spirals. Spirals everywhere.

  • I love this movie. Definitely great for Pagan children to watch. Only thing that bugs me is when Aisling enters the abbey and people think she is afraid because of the crosses. *facepalm*

  • @DraoiSorcha Yup. For those who want to know, Aisling is a fairy, which you have already guessed, but fairies cannot touch iron. It's poisonious to them.

  • @DraoiSorcha

I think any child would enjoy it. The beauty of the early Irish church was the integration of the "old ways" and the new - which were not necessarily in contradiction to each other. It was not until Rome brought Ireland "into line" with mainstream Catholicism that this beautiful balance was lost. Anyone who wants to see this as a pagan vs church showdown is missing the point. I think it is enough to say that this move is incredibly beautiful and speaks of better times.

  • For the longest time, I thought her name was Ashley.

  • FUCK YEA!!!!!!!!!!! i have a forrest named after me

  • This is by FAR the best movie ever. I love the animation. And Panger Ban.

  • 1:54 Yea, like bushes!

  • I like how the characters in this movie actually do somewhat resemble the human figures seen in some medieval / dark age manuscripts. They're more cartoony and colorful, yes, but it's an incredibly original style of animation, and its not just a cartoon. It's art.

  • Wow. This is so much better than Superflat

  • I love how he sees all the magic and wonder of the "heathens" and yet he still goes with christianity, which has yet to show him a single "miracle". Haha

  • If I ever have a daughter I'm naming her Aisling.

  • I want to climb that tree

  • @Kira1Lawliet. I noticed it too, it´s a triskel. A very ancient celtic symbol representing the three main elements, the balance, the life. Oh dear! I think I felt in love with this film!!

  • @skybreaker09

That's how you pronounce it. It's the gaelic spelling.

  • for the longest time I thought her name was Ashley.

  • I love Aisling's voice. D: So much.

  • From now on, every girl in Ireland with the name Aisling is in great honor.

Also, anyone notice the symbol on the tree at 1:04 but me?

  • They're making another movie called the Song of the Sea. When it comes out, you better believe I'm seeing it opening day if possible.

BTW, when they started production for this movie back in 1999, the animation was entirely different, and not nearly as good.

  • this animation is awesome

  • I really do wish Aisling had more screen time. She's adorable! She's like a feistier version of Luna Lovegood.

  • @FantasmaLuna I know, right? I'd name my daughter Aisling but no one here in Texas would EVER be able to pronounce it right. Even my name is too much for them to handle. lol XD

  • @FantasmaLuna Even she sounds a lot like Luna.

  • @FantasmaLuna And also she looks a lot like Evanna Lynch.

  • magical

  • is anyone else reminded of the Deku Tree when they see the oak tree at 1:04? I mean, without the face and the mustache, but still.

  • when she opened the fog bank to reveal that i was just absolutely blown away! XD Man the animators deserve somekind of reward for the art alone! *sigh* I wanna do animation like this someday too.

  • I love Aisling; she totally should have had a bigger part in the movie.

  • The animation is so beautiful I can't take it!!

  • I love how miserable Pangur Ban looks all the time. >w<

  • @MidnaTheBrave I love how he has two different color eyes :) I love when Pangur purrs and rubs around legs. It was awesome when he went to see Aisling's help to free Brandon. When Aisling turns Pangur into his spirit form was amazing too.

  • At 1:57 Brenden is not amused

  • her name is christen mooney shes in my school !!!

  • So uhm...Aisling's fookin' ADARRABLE. <3 x3

  • I love Aisling.. She's such a tease.

  • 2:49 The most epic image I've ever seen in animation. Aisling is just incredible in every way possible.

  • @madgang201 Damn Right

  • I'm just like her!!! minus the turning into an animal and all that.

  • @Absoluteboyfriend17 what? so you like nature and think everything is yours? Congrats, you are like every other 12 year old.

  • Why is Aisling so freaking adorable?

"I thought you knew how to climb trees?"

    "I do...smaller ones."

    "Yeah. Like bushes!"

    XD

  • Every time I get to 1:14 I just imagine the cat saying "Wat u talkin about?" Loved this little movie, for its beautiful animation and wonderful blend of celtic pagan and Irish catholic tradition.

  • THE EARRINGS ARE ORIGINAL CELTIC TRADITION I BELIVE

  • I love the cat. He has such a great personality.

  • @ritsfata i think pangur is a she

  • @toby2213 Really? I don't think so..... But I haven't seen it so I have no idea.

  • @ritsfata lol

  • On the kid's ear: are those earrings? Are those traditional?

  • Mega man legs.

  • This is most beautiful animation i`ve ever seen! :)

  • @AnnabethXPercy It's spelled Aisling, but it's pronounced like Ash-ling. :)

  • aww love the cat :]

  • "Yeah, like bushes!" xD

  • if for nothing else, this movie is amazing because of the style of it's animation. I can't imagine the amount of research the character designers and background artists did to come up with how to make everything look the way it does and get it all to fit together properly.

  • aisling fairy of forest

  • oh my gawd i love this animation. it's so rare.

  • this movie is absolutely stunning to watch. It's like being in a dream and Aisling is kick ass!

  • i want to see this movie so bad! i can't wait till it comes out on DVD. i love how it's celtic inspired, and the animation's amazing.
