My mom wants to color her hair , she is 75% gray and natural. I was going to color her hair with Henna but Im afraid that it wont provide her with a vibrant color that she seeks? I love your results what brand of color did you use? would you reccomend coloring over Henna for those seeking a vibrant popping color?
@Isis4love OMG! DON"T DO THAT! You can't mix color with henna or vice versa. Hair will fall out. Henna and color don't mix. Henna is not good for gray it will turn it red and that won't look right and then your mom won't be about to correct because you can't mix henna and color. Don't put henna in it please!
@Isis4love I color my grays with Henna but I put indigo in it to create brown because I prefer it then red and it covers the grays nicely once a month.
@Dhamiltonj that's what i was thinking. Henna on it's own gives the greys a red colour, but then when you add indigo to it, AFTER using the henna then it turns it brown or black, depending on how long you leave it on the hair. HENNA Should NOT be used AFTER the Indigo, your hair turns a weird colour, but it should be the other way around Henna first, Indigo 2nd, and it should be from a reputable place, because if it's not -- it can really do a number on your hair.
Your curls was always popping, but with the color its POP POP POP!!! Since coloring your hair have you incorporated products specifically for color treated hair? And if so what are u using? Also, what are some good deep condtioners that you would recommend?
i love color is just that im afraid of the breakage and the dryness that will come with it I would highlight thought i was thinking about it for a while but I didnt follow through yet any tips thanks for your video.
Sleep with cap and my hair saturated in coconut oil before I do a protein treatment
like Alphogee....TRUE...Moisturize before doing a protein treatment...makes a big difference in final look and feel of your hair.....My highlights in the front actually came up tooooooo light some blond even, still no breakage or extra dryness,'cause I make sure my hair is moisture balanced.....
What a great video. I wished you worked in NJ. I would be living in your chair. Interesting about the color bringing out the curls. I color my grays and was nervous about it. I learned my lesson and go to the salon for color
Beautifully said about afro texture hair and protein. It makes complete sense now why non afro texture hair hangs down because of the production of moisture in the hair and scalp. Thats why my hair shrinks during a protein treatment and lengthens during a moisture treatment.
do you think there is a certain time you should color natural hair once you bc? in other words ..is coloring a twa too early for natural hair or should a person wait till their hair grows a bit longer?
what do you think about semi-permanent color? Is it less harsh?

@4evrhooked Semi's are pretty safe. They are temporary and those colors usually tend to be darker.
