I need a setting in England for my book that has rolling grassy hills, lots of full trees and is close to a small village. Is Derbyshire like that or is it all bare moors.
@moontide266 You could try Google Earth and enter Jaggers Lane in the search box. Otherwise try searching Google images for Hathersage. It's amazing what you can find this way.
Hi/Thank you for the lovely images./One little comment: my, how the birds sing! I live in Montréal, and the only time where you hear birds singing like this in the city is in the spring./I have often wondered if some sound engineering had been done for all these JE productions -- now after your video, I see that the birdsong is real!/Sorry if I sound silly./Hope to visit the place one day. Perhaps once I have finished my doctorate./Cheers.
Thanks for your comment bp1963p. I have to admit to a little 'sound engineering' myself on this video. However the chime of the church clock is as recorded live in the churchyard. Sorry to disappoint ...
Thanks for your comment. This film was shot during a day out to Derbyshire (I live four hours drive away). Most of what I shot is in the film so I can't provide any more images of Hathersage. Maybe someone who lives in the area will see this and post a video ...
That was lovely. I am very jealous. There are so many places in England I am longing to visit, and this is definitely one of them. It's not hard to see why so much vivid literature emerged from the English moors.

I felt almost as if I were walking with Charlotte Bronte. Thank you so much for this.

wonderful! I have the need to return to this beautiful dramatic place. It certainly suits my personality and I can walk where the Brontes walked
