I enjoy having the cab closed with ac on but many pipe jobs i have had in the last 20 years required that you have the front glass up and the door open. One job in particular, my foreman would not allow the radio on or fans running in the cab. It is very important that you can hear the guys working the ditch. I don't blame him either when you're swinging a 60" piece of storm drain over someone's head you had better have your shit together.
I usually keep the cab closed up because of the noie and dust. If it has air conditioning and a good heater it stays closed most of the time but if you've got people in the ditch, laying pipe, it's best and safest if it's kept open so you can see and hear better.
I have run a 330B, 330C and a 345B and they all had different controls in them than this one. I think they were Deere controls. Left stick controled the Boom (in and out) and the Bucket (open and close) and the Right Stick controled the Swing and Up and Down
@drummerdude6485 Most newer machines have the ability to change between Cat and John Deere controls but that is a factory option and Cat charges $1600.00 for so some outfits buy without

You can change the controls, to which suits you the best. So you can have Boom and Swing, etc. It is all how you like it!
