  • I think I'm in love...

  • I hate youtube advertisements.. for that sir you get thumbs down.

  • This thing must suck major balls when reversing...

    Dat rear window

    Dose rearviewmirrors

On the other hand, concept cars should be interesting and draw attention.

  • It was concept car in 2008? Why has not Dodge have not put this car into production by now ? It´s 2011 now !! Stop with the concept put this car on the road !

  • @davisgreen2020 does concept mean its made just for show and it will never be one production or what ?

  • @kwtblack2: Concept is a show car to reflect ideasand show what is possible ! I´m upset with that ! Quit the concept and BUILD IT ! Put on the road for 2012 !! Why wait for the next Oil crisis to come !! Remember $147 for barrel for Oil (2008)?!! It is just frustating !! Nissian, Mitsubishi, Renault and Chevrolet ( Volt) have NOT waited ! Their electric cars are going to be on the road this year or in 2012 ! It is crazy to wait !!

  • lol this is probably the only car that i like from dodge that's not ugly!!! 2 bad it not gonna be build...they only build shit!!!

  • Sweet design. Will it ever get produced though?

  • so in the future our cars going to be like these cars

  • I really like the look of this car, but I would worry about the access,- mind Your head going in and out of that.

  • Y dont they just make the fuckin concepts aand fuckin get rich off em

  • It's a good thing Dodge is getting involved in electric vehicles. Now, the concept might actually go somewhere. What GM did to the EV1 was sickening and criminal to say the least. FUCK GM!!!

  • @Z0mbeSlayer -- I totally agree. GM management has their head so far up their ass they deserved to fail. What they did by deep-sixing the EV-1 was sheer malicious sabotage, betraying their public's respect & regard. They could have taken a pioneering lead in developing a huge market for environmentally responsible, cost-efficient, stylish cars which the public wanted, but they blew it. Fuck 'em.

  • i actually like it....i would drive such a car

  • Just another Public Relations effort from the US Auto industry. They should be manufacturing electric cars big time but they will not because the oil companies call the shots. Sad that the US is loosing its grip on the future auto technology.

  • Nissan will beat them to the marketing of electric cars. Why a nation that can send man to the moon seems slow in earth technology, like the MAGLEV trains that China,Japan & Germany has already.

  • Eugh, they tried to make it look too futuristic. Instead it just looks plastic and cheap. Go Dodge! You fucked up another design.

  • i agree

  • Look at the dodge storm trooper in the background 3:35!!!

    The zeo looks cool too

  • Door hinges aren't very practical. Gullwing or suicide might be more viable. Nice car though. I heard Dodge and all other GM electric cars will release their models in the year 2185.

  • damn, hes so lucky to drive a Zeo!!

  • You still gotta worry about your electric bill.

and also its not cutting back on CO2 going into the air cause the power plants still have to make the energy and put out the CO2

  • You're talking about a subject you know nothing about.

EVs use 1/10th to 1/20th the energy of a gasoline powered car. Even if you get your power from the dirtiest coal power station on earth you can still run 10 EVs on the power needed to run just 1 gas car.

Why do you think EVs are so much cheaper to run?

  • tsport: Right on......tell that oil company clown "what for".

  • @tsport100 during night time there is so much energy over-production by now. If mankind started to use electric cars this would lower the co2 emissions drastically!

  • In the Pacific Northwest we have MANY HUGE Hydroelectric Dams and now more VERY BIG Windmills that you can count all up and down the Columbia River.... These cars us SO LITTLE electricity that your previous answer is not a problem.

  • @hockeykid962 Electric cars cost around $2-$4 to go about 100 miles. That would cost around $16 for a gas car given the current gas prices. Also since electric doesn't have oil to change every 3,000 miles, and require far less maintenance, you save there too. Yes there are a lot of power plants that burn coal, causing pollution, but you aren't required to use that... Get some solar cells & wind turbines and then you don't pollute at all. Costs will come down the more ppl jump on board.

  • another wacky car I wouldn't dream of buying! not quite as bad as the mixim but close. I'm itching to gut these clown cars of their technology and put it in a corolla. Then I can drive around looking like a normal person, WHILE I'm not paying for gasoline!!

  • 02634288: WHICH oil company PAID you to say that???

  • why would an oil company want a electric car that someone would actually buy out there on the market? what I'm saying is people are forced to buy gas powered cars because the only alternatives are silly cars like this one.

  • You MUST watch the You Tube movie "Who Killed the Electric Car" and your eyes WILL be opened. The oil companies DO NOT want these cars on the road......PERIOD

  • I've seen it, its good: we're to blame and all that. I think you've got your wires crossed, I am aware the oil companies do not want electric cars on the market. The Zeo is a prime example; no one is going to buy it!!

  • 02634: Not particulary talking specifically about the Zeo....just electric cars in general (like the ones Saturn made and then SECRETLY CRUSHED)!!! SOMETHING was VERY wrong with that act......and if anyone out there doesn't believe the oil companies WERE NOT behind that maneuver, they are either 1. Part of the cover up, or 2. Naive to the max.......

  • fit those headlights on my se-r

  • the best part of it is that this vehicle is electric. thats why its heap to drive. and the only thing i dont like is that interior. in my oppinion it is to expensive.

  • i dont like the back but everything else is really nice

  • Neither GM nor any other legacy auto manufacturer will build an EV. Legacy auto companies won't build them because EVs never need service. Look how big the service department is at every car dealer, and your out-of-wallet experience there. Much revenue at risk. They don't make money selling cars. They make money on service, like a printer company that makes money selling ink cartridges. Expect American Car Company EV's to run on the energy of greenwashing press releases for a long time to come

  • When is an automaker going to design a car that has a Complete Interactive LCD screen for a dash board. And I mean a Dash that comes out toward you, not that you have to reach out for. all the controls and buttons on a car should be very close to the person, not way out on the darn dash. Get with it automakers, stop playing with yourselves and make cars for People!!!

  • the only thing that sucks are these gearboxes which are to far. i have to lean forward to reach the gearbox.

  • Ok, that is officially cool.

  • I want that car.

  • But it can't be an electric car, because electric cars are impossible. GM said so.

    (my poor attempt at sarcasm)

  • Two words:

    FUCK GM!

  • Agreed! The EV-1 had a posted range of 120 miles. Now with over a decade of technology, all they can do is 40 miles? Do they think were all stupid enough that we forgot about the EV1, like they wanted us to?

  • 4mi/kwh with lithium? Wonder what kind of aero and rolling drag this thing has.

I saw a concept drawing of a 4-seat EV1 - since they averaged at least 5mi/kwh from the original 15 years ago, would have gotten at least that much if it still existed, incorporating 4 seats and a lithium pack by now! Oh well, shouldn't cry over spilled milk...

  • The Tzero claims 165Wh/mi with Li-ion and 180Wh/mi using old lead acid batteries. The X1 claims 200wh/mi and they are both based on the same EV1 architecture (the bloke at AC propulsion was the designer of the EV1s inverter) although neither of these are the size of the Zeo.

  • I never like seeing the word "claims" when reading about EVs - at least there were enough EV1 drivers around for us to know they consistently got 5mi/kwh (200Wh/mi). My very unaerodynamic Ranger would be 400Wh/mi or more if I drove closer to the speed limit, but it is also 4800lbs!

  • I don't think these are questionable numbers, they aren't from the blokes at ZAP! LOL

If the EV1 got 200Wh/mi with 3000lb and lead acid batteries then it's reasonable to expect a Li-ion powered tzero running the same AC motor and inverter (150kw Vs 100kw) in a 2000lb chassis to do better.

What I'm curious about is what % of these numbers is Regen?

  • Freeway values would have little to no regen component.

  • I realize that but are these highway figures? Is the 400wh/mi you quoted highway? I've never seen separate town or highway numbers quoted for EVs. If these are highway then we'd be looking at a substantial improvement in the numbers for urban driving as the tzero can extend range by up to 50% with just coast regen.

  • Even the most wasteful driver won't get more than 20% benefit from regen - for *me*, it's a few percent at best. Regen is less efficient than coasting, converting inertia to electricity and storing it chemically to create the same inertia at a later time. Because city traffic is so variable, my truck does worse on surface streets than driving 55mph on the highway, and if I coast instead of relying on regen, under 350Wh/mi is typical. These numbers are from the mains and include charging losses.
