People refer to the Wonders of the World (generally seven in number, like the Pyramid of Giza or the Rodhes Colossus, etc.), but to our age Alicia de Larrocha playing Granados and Albeniz piano music, should be considered a Wonder of the World. Here both composer and performer fuse together to form a ravishing ray of magnificent light, hardly ever seen in the human horizon.
I have this old record! And other Hispavox recordings issued under the MHS label like the other Granados and Albeniz recordings + de Falla and Turina - and non-Spanish repertoire. Interesting to listen to the vinyl recordings again after so many years. (At least your lp copies did not suffer like mine with issues with pre-echo.) And the French remastering of these recordings for CD on EMI did a bit of disservice as well with regards to the audio quality.
Marvelous musicmaking from both.
