  • you mentioned that you fit more than 15 colors in that pleete..how do yyouu do that?

  • @ZoilaSolis You need to pull out the little insert, it takes some effort and you might break a corner off (the newer palettes are more difficult to do this with). Just stick your fingers in the holes and pull gently on the corner, you will eventually see the corner lift up, from there just pull the rest out. After its out, you can fit 26 shadows.

  • @erikosan84 OK THANKS, IM GOING TO TRY IT

  • THANK YOU so much for this video. You just made my artistry and life that much better and enjoyable.

  • @Jenshenanigan you're welcome!

  • For prom, my color was gold. so when i went to the MAC store the lady suggested woodwinked all over the lid (it looks gold on me. im caramel complexion), mulch in my crease, and era as my highlight. no one ever mentions era and i really like it. was that limited addition?

  • @prettyqut2 No Era is permanent, its a nice shade as well, looks really good as a highlight especially on darker girls.

  • Hi, i went to mac and did buy most of the shades you suggested and LOVE LOVE them! Here in europe salespeople get easily overwhelmed with darker skin people and they where very surprised by the colors i both on your recommendation. Thank you SO SO much for taking the time and sharing your knowledge. i subscribed to you :)

  • @purejade3o i'm glad you were able to find this helpful!

  • This is a really good as well as useful video. Thank you so much. Looking forward to more.

  • this is such a smart idea, this helps so much for women with darker skin tones

  • Is down brown a perm. color bc im getting my first mac eyeshadows and im pretty much looking at woodwinked and down brown bc we have the same skintone. I tried looking for it on the website but they only have brown down can i still get it in stores? and what color do you think is more gold and neutral woodwinked or amber lights?

    Thanks :)

  • I just received my order at work. I got the pro palette and handwritten, amber lights, wood winked and arena. I can't wait to try them. They are so pretty! Thanks for all of your help!

  • Thank you so much for this. You are very well articulated and this vid was very informative.

  • @annazraf you're very welcome, and thank you.

  • How do you pop the tray out to fit more shadows?

  • @iqueenb337 you can use a little knife and dig it in between the edges, it pops out then. But I just grab a few of the holes and wiggle it, then it pops out. It sounds like its breaking but it isn't :)

  • nice! you know your stuff!

  • @Papasean7 thanks :)

  • Hi Eriko! I hope you are well. I went to Nordstroms over the weekend and swatched the colors you suggested and then some extra goodies! I love them. I wanted to get some for my birthday next month, but Nordstrom said in July they will have the palette and pan refills. I will try to wait until then, but may have to order some next month. Again, thanks so much for taking the time to make these great videos for us. You have taught me so much, and us newbies need lots of teachin! :-)

  • Thanks so much for responding to me, very sweet of you. :-) I am going to go by Nordstroms today and try the colors you suggested for me. I will let you know which ones I get.

  • I love these suggestions. I don't have any MAC shadows. I would like to choose four of these to start with. I want to get the Amber Lights and Woodwinked definitely, which other two would you suggest? Thanks Eriko!

  • @Laina034 I'd say get a good matte crease color. One that they call your best friend color, its usually a tad darker or the same color as your lid. It defines the crease and helps blend your shadows better. I use Saddle for mine. The 4th color, it depends if you want a dark shade or a highlight. If you want a dark shade, I love Handwritten. If you want a highlight, I love Arena (or Ricepaper if you want a lighter highlight).

  • i am nc 42...can u pls suggest a highlighter for my cheekbones...

  • albatross by NARS

  • Me and everyone else knows these shades are not just for WOC. Just so you know, this video was a starting point/guide for women of color who have consistently been ostracized from the beauty industry based on their skin tone. But I'm assuming you aren't a woman of color, so I wouldn't expect you to understand or know. And congrats on owning all these colors...

  • @anapier1011 Ur missing the point, her video is not trying 2 exclude any1. It's just that there r a lot of colours that dont come out the way they r suppose to on coloured women, and some don't even show up. She is just saving those women the hassle, time and money by identifying the colours that work.

  • Hey I have a similar skin tone to yours whats your favorite pink and If you had to pick a blue which would it be? I love your series of mac eyeshadows for women of color by the way. You should make more of those.

  • my fav pink is post haste, my fav blue is freshwater. I'm definately making some more of these vids.

  • Could you do a video showing your makeup collection and how you store it?

  • im really enjoying ur tips and color suggustions for darker skin tone...keep it going!!

its a bit off but can you suggust an alternative for mac chartruse paint? i think its discontinued

  • thank you! Makeup Forvever has a flash color called Leaf Green, its bright and very vibrant. NYX has a jumbo pencil in lime green as well. Those aren't dupes but they'll give you a close color. If you live near a CCO, that paint is always available :)

  • what are you wearing on your eyes in this vid ??

  • just some black eyeliner and i think i either A. smudged it or B. the heat melted it off

  • thank you thank you thank. I have been searching and searching for this info before I go to the store.

  • have u tried tempting yet by mac would that go good with amber light

  • yea i have it, unfortunately i don't reach for it as much as i should. That combo sounds great though

  • Very helpful! Thanks! Would you do a peachy look sometime soon?

  • yes i will

  • I think my comment did not go through. I will post the shorter version.

Some colors I could not understand. Are you able to post the colors to your blog or onto this video?

I also think you should attach this video to Makeup Geek's Neutral palette.

    Great job and thank you

  • Thanks for posting it on your blog.

  • you're welcome, sorry it wasn't very clear before.

  • Talk about Deja Vu, LOL! I'm definitely going to put this in my favs because I need to know what colors to look for or dupes for because I love to save money; thanks ;-)!

  • i'm always on the look out for dupes

  • Great video... I have about 95% of the shadows you mentioned lol...
